Hi all, I'm hopelessly looking for Apps2sd for my device
I have it for two days now, installed a bit more then 10 apps and its already complaining
Since there are no custom roms available yet, it would really help me out if I can get apps2sd working.
I tried flashing the latest version of darktremor's apps2sd script but it produces an error that amended scripting is not working or something similar.
Anyone an idea if I can get this working on my brand new device?
Thanks!!
Stock kernel doesn't support ext4 and init.d - not possible to use any a2sd. You need a custom kernel. Second - wrong section!
Thanks for the response and sorry for posting in the wrong section !
So lets wait for a custom kernel then..
Mods, please remove this thread. thanks!
Questions should be posted in Q&A section!

This is just a stock rom with a few tweeks.
It includes SuperUser, busybox, Wireless -N, Facebook has been moved to /data/local so it can be uninstalled, Zipaling and ROM Manager. CityID has been removed, also the internal task killer has been tweeked so no need to have third party task killers.
I dont plan on working too much on this one, but may update in the future.

I would recomend wipeing before installing.
Thanks! This is exactly what I wanted before going with some of the more advanced ROMs and themes being posted here. Now I have a fallback position even if my Nandroid backup fails.
Can you confirm that MMS and GPS work ?
yes it does it is completly stock so everything work the way it should
Can a Mod please Sticky this thread.
Thanks!
Thank you for this and for your time in creating this ROM.
Just loaded this on my Dinc last night.
I was running the unrevoked for a couple days and then the Cyanogen for a couple days....while both had their pluses, I'm going to wait until there is a fully operational Cyanogen 6.
Biggest deal for me was losing multi-touch zoom and the 8mp camera.
What's the build number? Is this based off the newest OTA update?
Just installed and am going through the Titanium backup now... Thanks!
*Just finished installing and resetting- Everything runs smooth. The Android version is 2.1-update1
I am new to android so how do I load this rom on my device?

Searching the threads does wonders for finding answers... There are a number of threads that discuss this, but simple instructions can be found in the ROM thread HERE
If after reading that thread you still don't know how to install, then read the sticky threads at the top of the Android Development section.

Hi,
I followed the CM6 thread quite closely, however I did not want to hijack that thread for my purposes.
It seems that the latest build of CM6 does not support Apps2SD anymore. I used to flash Cyanogens Mods on my G1 / Dream since ages, and all of them supported Apps2SD. Maybe someone could elaborate a little on my questions to help me understand the latest developments:
1. Is there any particular reason why CM6 does not support Apps2SD anymore (maybe performance or stability issues)?
2. Won't that mean that the G1 will immediately run out of memory, as the internal memory is that small (this was actually the reason why I decided to root my device)?
Thanks in advance for helping out. I just don't really get it and think I won't flash CM6 until there is a solution...
Best regards,
Becksman

Apps2SD will be there in 6.1......That's been communicated.....
Right now Firerat has build an script which does the JOB, I have a dream and using apps2sd with CM6....
Search the thread or XDA and you will get all the info....
FroYo, that CM6 is based on, has it's own implementation, often referred to as Apps2FAT. Cyanogen, and others, have stated that something resembling the CM4/5 Apps2Ext will be in the next release of CM.
Thanks for the replys so far. I was aware that an implementation of Apps2SD in CM6.1 is planned. I know as well that there is a workaround with firerat's patch.
I just tried to understand what's different with CM6 in comparison to CM5. I thought: hey, maybe with CM6 there's a good reason why apps2SD is not supported anymore. Maybe there's an alternative to apps2SD which works more reliable (not that it didn't with apps2SD on CM5). If so, I would have been willing to reinstall my apps and use the new system.
If there's no reason not to use apps2SD in CM6 then I'll consider updating. Either now, applying firerat's patch, or in some time when CM6.1 is out...
Best regards,
Becksman
it is Apps2SD, but it is saving the data to the FAT32 partition, rather than the EXT partition we are used to. one limitation I've discovered was by installing desktop widgets on the external. when the OS booted up, none of the widgets loaded.
I suspect the reason CM6.0 doesn't have Apps2Ext is threefold.
FroYo has something similar built-in. Therefore, users have a solution to the underlying problem w/out a custom CM solution. (problems w/ that implementation notwithstanding)
A polished solution would have to integrate with the FroYo solution in some way. This takes extra work.
Getting FroYo running solidly was a huge effort of it's own. TeamDouche expanded the number of supported devices by a huge number. They integrated the completely new build system Google released with FroYo. Adding another feature, especially in light of #1 and #2 above, would have delayed the release without real merit.
Thanks for the clarifications.
So I guess I'll stick with Apps2Ext. Though I guess I'll have to wait until CM6.1 is out, as I really don't have the time right now to keep myself busy playing with my phone and try to make everything work.
Thanks again for your effort - what a wonderful forum.

Becksman
Hi all developers
I was hoping someone could cook up a stock rooted Froyo WWE 3.15 with DarkTremor A2SD, superuser and busybox and disabled boot sound. Everything else, could go untouched. I'm sure many would appreciate this as not all of us have experience with linux commands.
Thanks in advance.
So you should get some experience and get productive! Do not just request all the time!

Spend your time to read this thread (dsixda great kitchen)!
PS:
- I have zero knowledge of linux command
- I think what you ask can simply be done by using Blayo's B0.1 ROM + flash DarkTremor apps2sd, no?

Would that work? Is blayo's B0.1 ROM A2SD Ready. Don't think so, since a few people couldn't quite get it right.

Could someone within this forum post instructions on how to get the default oc settings in cmparts (jerpelas rom) to use doixanhs x8oc module. Preferably by moduleman himself or jerpelea.
Thanks in advance.
Reading here Link will not only give you instructions on how to install that properly but also knowledge and understanding.
Its a great module, post and thread, but i still miss some info, like how to get module to work with native oc settings in cm rom. a lot of custom roms have this, all except jerpeleas rom. thats the rom i want to use.
Is there anyone with knowledge of this issue. please share it.
Maybe i suggest posting your query there. Making another topic with an existing one will find yourself ignored!
I installed Democracy Final version. Its a awesome ROM.yesterday only i installed Link2SD method to increase Internal memory. Now i m eager to know what are all the scripts and tweaks we can use in that ROM.
Since it supports init.d, any script or tweak applies. Only problem might be scripts conflicting with one another.
So, check the roms' thread, see what's already done, and don't install a script that does de same thing.
Post your questions there, to help keep the forums clean.
