[Q] protecting the hansome sgs device

HI guys,
Something came to my mind and wanted to share it with you...
its how to protect my device after being stolen?
I know there are plenty of apps to find the device( through gps remote activation), to erase the contents and release alerts through different ways.
BUT WHAT IF
somebody had stolen your phone , pull out the battery, then boot it into download mode (3 buttons combination that every one knows), and finally flashed it with any rom by using ODIN ???????
the question here;
IS THERE ANY WAY TO PASSWORD PROTECT THE ACCESS TO BOTH RECOVERY &/OR DOWNLOAD MODES IN THE DEVICE, SO IT CAN BE USELESS FOR THE THEIF ???

sorry mate, forgive my ignorance, but is it an app ?

Unless they can change the IMEI then as soon as it is used on any network it will be locked and barred by your service provider.

but if the developers can restrict the access to the downloading and recovery modes,,,,then its virtually impossible to even change the imei, is it right ?????

The IMEI is hard coded and encrypted in your phone.if you mess with the efs folder and the IMEI over there does not match what is hard coded, you get an invalid IMEI and your phone's network capabilities will be limited.
Btw, steam is a sort of recovery.

[Q] superoneclick

Hello im looking for some info with the optmius 2x (p990) and superoneclick rooting program.
They are-
ONE can you use this to "unlock" your phone? as in us it with diffrent carriers and what not?
Can you remove it if you want?
i have looked around but noting came up with the exact model and unlocking, im sorry i am quite new at the android scene but i do somewhat know the just of it.

No, ir does not unlock your phone. It gives you root permissions, it like administration permissions in windows, so you can install and do a bunch of stuff otherwise you wouldn't be able to.
I don't know how to unlock the phone but if it was easy to do I guess I'd already know

For unl**k all sim could probably work this way
try change rom with smartflash and replace file .ap e .cp and erase entire AP
(erase entire AP command delete all information imei etc ... to rewrite only imei. I have tested and work on p990 because for error I have press on erase AP : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20815755&postcount=26)
this program rewrite the file baseband (network) and get open market software
I'm not sure that it works, and not sure if it is legal!

For all I know, all Android devices are unlocked.
A friend of mine bought a Nexus S locked to a certain network provider in Portugal, got home and just stuck a Vodafone Portugal SIM card in and voilá!, worked without a problem.
Even if it wasn't this easy, you can always flash your BB to a open version, so I really don't see any issue for unlocking a device.
Don't forget: rooting and unlocking are two different things...

[Q][HELP] Mobile cant detect network

Hi Friends,
I updated my ROM to JellyBlur | V1 | 4.1.2 using the below guide:

After installing rom and gapps, I rebooted my 'W8' phone. Everything was good. But I lost the main function of mobile device:"THE NETWORK" :crying:
I don't know what went wrong. I cant make phone calls as network is not found.
Please help someone.
I tried to manually search the network. But that was of no use. I got a list of networks in search, but i was unable to register the appropriate one.

Check is it on wcdma mode or GSM? And choose as per ur network

There is no option to select the type of network (gsm/wcdma). Atleast I am unable to find it. Moreover list of available networks is dislayed, but I cant register.
The error says,"Cant connect to this network right now.............."
Is anyone there with the same problem???

You can check it by enabling '2g only' in network mode.
Hope it works if you are not in a wcdma mode

Done all things again. Still I am at the same place.
I guess the problem is while running msm7227_semc.cmd during unlock bootloader process.
Can anybody explain what actually happens here?

Can u explain what did u done before this happening?
If automatic registration in operator setting doesn't work do this:
Go to "battery use" and touch "graph picture " see there what color is signal line
-red= no signal, means hw damage OR some serious problems with antenna apps
-Yellow & green tells us no problem with hw or sw

Earlier I had used "msm7227_Setool2.cmd" to unlock the bootloader. This was the problem.
After unlocking the bootloader using "msm7227_semc.cmd" . There was no error.
Now problem is solved.

HTC ONE locked sim after flash with jtag and it accept any unlock code :(

Someone brought me a HTC ONE which was re-written with jtag,the phone was unlocked (sim) un brandet O2 UK,now the phone has sim locked and the bad thing is the phone accept any unlock code but when I reboot it,the phone ask me again the SIM IMSI unlock PIN and if I use another code again succes and it ask me to reboot after reboot the same thing.
What can I do?

I'm having the same issue. Seems no one has a solution. I had a developer who wrote a couple scripts that helped me get my imei to stock but it seems this even the alleged master coders don't have an answer. Need a patch that bypasses the security check from the modem

There is hope.. a developer named dexter has a unbrick that includes an emmc chip restore. I should have quoted the thread. I'm sure that there has to be a solution in there somewhere. After all it revives a hard brick and that's where we were to start. I'm looking into it. Maybe we shall see

Hi. I am from Ukraine. I've bought a N910T with a BAD IMEI from ebay.com and the phone couldn't find a network even after unlocking in Ukraine. (Usually, bad imei has influence only on US networks and it doesn't matter for European networks, - I've bought over 50 phones with bad imeis - had no problem.. I gave my note4 to a serviece-center and they told me "the phone is a eternal Tablet" (the problem isn't in the sim-reader, so it's somewhere inside the phone/motherboard..)
I thought "maybe SAMSUNG or Android have changed something and now the BAD IMEI is a problem for non-US networks as well. I tried to "repair bad imei" and have followed one (stupid) instruction on youtube, where the guy didn't say anything about a backup. Result: I've lost the imei, I don't have a backup. Also: there was no sticker under the battery from the beginning :crying: I hope, I'll fix the NULL IMEI with the help of someone's backup. I'll send you 2$ "for a beer" :highfive: Thanks in advance!

iMeI number is TIED to your SPECIFIC device m8, check your box. But anyone else IMeI number I don't think that is possible. Is it!

I don't have the box. It's possible, from what I was told

Try entering *#06# on the dialer, it should show you the IMEI.

Hi. Thanks, but it "works only for MTK devices". I have tried it nevertheless, but no luck.

Okay then you should try mobile uncle tools. It works mostly in MTK Devices but try it if your luck is with you.

You can Try Bad IMEI Repair Service that may solve you problem you can try THEUNLOCKPROS dot COM I have use theme before and they fix my block IMEI

I have an EFS Backup is dirty the IMEI is bad is block by T-mobile I made it with EFS Professional but I can't share because i can't post links the file
P.S if i do share it PLEASE donate to XDA efs Professional team

Which version did you use? The latest one doesn't see the backup...
Please note that backups made with older versions are not compatible with the new EFS Professional v2.0 update due to the new backup format used.

I use 2.1.80 beta and when you unzip the tool put the file in tar.gz don't unzip the file tar.gz file inside the folder ?:\*********\EFS_Professional_2.1.80_BETA\EFS Professional\EFSProBackup
?:\*********\ = what ever you unzip the tool
Phone has to be Rooted and Busybox install not just the apk you have to open and grand SU Permissions and install busybox
USB debugging enable under developer options and Allow usb debugging check always allow from this computer and hit ok
Open EFS professional.exe from ?:\*********\EFS_Professional_2.1.80_BETA\EFS Professional
An open file security warning may appear hit run
a Second window pops hit ok then its gonna ask for USB debugging permissions and if every is fine you should get 5 okay's then go to restore tab and under Backup Archives Select the EFS backup then hit Restore and done
if it fails for any reason dial *#0808# on phone and select USB AP and USB Settings to DM+MODEM+ADB hit ok and retry if it everything goes perfect don't forget to redial ones finish and select USB AP and USB Settings to MTP+ADB and hit ok
IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One more thing you have to create a folder for the buck up under ?:\*********\EFS_Professional_2.1.80_BETA\EFS Professional and name the folder EFSProBackup as is or try to do a back up first so the tool can create the folder

I'll just make my new post in here since my phone won't let me so I need help with a battery issue I get like 3 hours of screen on time with power saving mode enabled while others can get 9+ hours screen on time without power saving mode on is there some kind of secret I'm not aware of? Because I'm starting to feel like samsung lied about this phone lasting you all day in what universe is 3 hours all day? Lol but yet any advice would be appreciated and please don't ban me for posting in here there is literally no option to make a new topic
