wi-fi direct OK but file sharing NOT !! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a SGS phone and a Chinese tablet, the both have CM9 4.0.4 roms with wi-fi direct features..
But, wi-fi direct file sharing NOT possible..
Acc to the below info After the both android device's wi-fi direct is enabled, configured and connected each other, a file transfer is supposed to be done share/ via wi-fi.
But when I select a file and wanted to share, it does not appear "via wi-fi" option under share despite several trys with several file managers / explorers....
Why ? Can anyone manage?
"Step VI: After the connection is successful, you should try to transfer a file through Wi-Fi Direct, for this either you go to your file manager or gallery. Choose any file and click on ‘share via’ and choose ‘Wi-Fi’. It will directly start sending the selected file to the connected device."

Maybe try GS FINDER instead as it works better. Download it from pocketpcfreewares.com
Thansk timn2087.
It works with GS Finder and this tool is great as well.
Total Commander does this perfectly - browse to root and find '\\Plugins' which gives you access to ftp, LAN and registry

[Answer?] GingerDX Wi-Fi disconnect problem

Hi, I think that the wifi disconnect problem of GingerDX is that the file /data/misc/dhcp/dhcpcd-wlan0.lease has no "User" permission..
Someone having that problem can confirm it? just have to install a file explorer (I thinks it has to be Root Explorer), go to that file and set User permissions for Read, Write and Execute..
wifi probs is fixed! u just have to forget the network and and connect it again newly!
I tried that so many times with no luck, but when I did that the problems seems to be gone.. So I want to confirm that.. I have seen that other user have that problem too, but I can't post in development forum yet.. u.u

i looked for the file but the dhcp folder is empty. maybe thats why my wifi is not working.
My wifi also sometimes disconnects but it quickly re-connects and everything is ok. Wifi on stock 2.1 was much worse. When it disconnected i even had to restart my home router. I think it is problem with my home wifi device. Maybe yours is broken, either?
get the wifi files from freexperia project.
that file is supposed to be created automatically when you are connected to a wifi network, I deleted it and was auto-created again..
Cant connect to wifi getting stuck @obtaining ip address then x8 reboots

[Q] Modem Switcher?

I can't install modem switcher on my tab. Dont know where I went wrong but if I did it may be where I was supposed to unmount the usb- problem is, I didnt even have it connected to the pc because I downloaded modemswitcher.zip from the tab via url link (over wi-fi of course).
At the end of the directions it says that the tab will reboot, but it does not. I deleted the files and started over again, same thing.
When I go into GScript Switch it says "data/local/tmp/redbend_ua: no such file"
then closes.
Solution?

Unable to send apk files via bluetooth in ICe Cold 8.0

Hi,
One more query from my end. I am able to user Bluetooth very well with the phone and use it in the gallery. But when I go to File manager and browse through the SD card and when I am trying to send an APK file via Bluetooth, it does not give Bluetooth option under sent. It only gives Gmail and Skype. Am I doing some thing wrong or it is designed to work in this way.
I received all those APK files via Bluetooth and ideally even I should be able to transfer then via bluetooth. Please advise.

use ES Explorer best in my humble opinion
go check this out >>> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
Better use ES File explorer as ezio2 suggested where you also can backup your apk through application manager
Hi paarkhi and ezio2 I will surely try ES File explore...Installing it now.
Thanks reversegear, as advised by you I tried Root Explorer and it worked.

Hi,
I have the following issue:
I’m not able to send files (like photos or documents) via Bluetooth to a win7 or win10 PC.
Every time I get a send-error with no detail information.
If I try to send a file from the pc to my phone via Bluetooth, this works fine ….
What could I do?

You obviously know that you have to right-click the bluetooth icon on your taskbar and select receive a file. Don't you?
