Hi guys,
I bought a HD7 a while ago, and it had been nice to use, right up to when it decided to randomly restart, and freeze. Saw there was a 7.10 update, and went for it. Half way through the update, my phone restarted, out of the blue, as the updates where installing... Typical, eh? so, before it did restart it had took a back up, Zune saw the backup and I attempted to restore. A few hours later, it had failed and the device doesn't boot past some stupid PC connection screen. Its a black screen with a mobile device, connected to a computer....
So... After a while of research, I decided to downgrade, and then flash a custom rom.
problem being, I wasn't able to get the bootloader info or OS version before the phone decided to brick its self. When I was an android user, I had bricked my phone many times, but this is so much harder.
Heres the info from what I got from the bootloader screen,
PD29*** SS-BC (4K)
SPL-5.11.2250.0(134400) MNG
MicroP(LED) 0x07
TOUCH S1(v1.8,#1624)
Can any one help me with this?
I am on o2 UK.
I have been attempting to use task 29+00. Apon using 00, I use radio 1.16 and 1.69 and both somehow restart the phone from the install percentage bar. Also been pointed to the this website, an archive of xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD7/Radios
Can some one give me a helping hand and point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

The goldcard/ Ycable method is your best bet and truthfully your only hope without having to use a Jtag or Riff box. The goldcard method can repair a damaged bootloader and is used while in USB host mode... The black screen indicating to connect to a P/C. This is the basic idea of it...use the goldcard method and flash a stock/shipped rom for your devices specific carrier. This should repair the bootloader and should also downgrade your spl and OS version as well, depending on what rom version you flash. At this point you can update through Zune to the current OS version. Then if you wanted to, you could use your goldcard to downgrade the spl and install rspl/hspl and flash a custom rom! Here's Shadows tutorial on how to downgrade spl, this will give you a background on how the process work and links to all the shipped/stock roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068
This gives a good view and idea on how to make the cable:

Hi,
When it gets stuck on "Enter USB host mode" it means that it can't read the file from the SD card.
Try this -
1. Try switching around the connections of the Y cable.
2. Try a different SD card reader. This is usually the problem.
3. Make sure you renamed the .nbh file to SCHUIMG.nbh (has to be capitalized)
4. Sometimes the camera button will get stuck in and prevent the device from reading the file.
Also when the device gets stuck on "Enter USB host mode" you have to reset the device to get an active connection again... Disconnect the Y cable from the device, pull the battery and reinstall, then re-enter USB host mode and try the flash process again.
Try those and let me know if you have any success!
hi
do u know anyone with this problem, how i can contact with him/her?

Ouch... Tried to install new rom and seem to have buggered up the phone. I get the infamous tri-color screen with usb connection to mtty.... nothing else. I cannot connect through active sync, etc. and of course the phone will not boot into WM. Tri-color screen indicates "security unlocked" , DIAM500 SPL-0.057.0000, MicroP-Diam (LED) VB.
After lots of reading the only option I see is using mtty to install a "working" ROM on the phone but cannot figure out how to accomplish this. Looks like you would need to know a starting address and length of the file in order to use the lnbs command to transfer the image?
Any thoughts or am I just wasting time (which I already have done)

OK, first thing is to just breathe a few times.
Second is to start reading. Please see link in my signature before doing anything else. Read it, digest it and follow it..
There is a process for flashing a ROM. First, you need to flash Hard-SBL. This does invalidate your warranty (but you must have realised that already right..?)
I believe the phone is locked. Is there any way to unlock from mtty?

Ok, first of all, I've not personally used MTTY. I've done a forum search on it but not turned up much. Having come from the Blue Angel, I've had to re-learn everything in order to flash a ROM.
Now, did you read the Wiki or did you just automatically think you knew what you were doing..?
Follow this at your own risk. I'm working on limited knowledge here..
As far as I know, your Diamond appears to be in Bootloader mode. The fact that you have the "USB" words on your screen, your PC is going to be able to communicae with the Diamond. (one assumes that it is connected to the PC - Does it say "Serial" when the cable is disconnected..?). Activesync will not show up as connected but you're still going to be able to communicate with it..
From there, you need to download and run Hard-SPL. I would go for the developers edition.
Once the Hard-SPL has been run, you need to choose a ROM - That will be your choice..
Follow this thread to clarify exactly what you need to do..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
Let me know how you get on..
Cheers,
Im about to flash my ROM from original 1.56 to Duttys new, but when i enter bootloader the white loadingscreen gets stuck in my face. Nothing happens and i need to remove the battery to shut down device. Anyone? Freakin frustratin´.
Before I flashed my first rom, I read wiki.xda-developers.com to make sure I understood what I was doing, and used the search button, instead of risking turning my phone into a paper weight.
Since then, Crackwhore has written a very helpful post at the top of this forum about how to use HSPL and USPL to allow you to flash roms.
yeah i know all that. not my first time flashing a phone but the first time it got stuck loading the bootloader. and specially when i´ve only used the HTC update.

you mean you couldn't get to boot loader page?
So you already have HSPL 1.56 installed (or have SPL1.54 and used USPL)?
If you have HSPL you could try renaming the .nbh file to blacimg.nbh and copying it to the SD card and entering bootloader
Same problem here. Stuck in bootloader mode. Loading progress indicator never moves beyond 0%. Have always used the card method (blacimg.nbh), but this time it doesn't work and nothing flashes. No matter what I do the system goes to tricolour bootloader screen and says ROM update error. Have tried 3 microSD cards, all in working order, so this isn't the problem. The full problem description is here. Help!

try dnloading the rom again amd try.
the file might be corrupt
Have tried that many times. File is not corrupt. I'm getting really worried this is now a brick...
OK, if you can get phone into bootloader, it is not bricked
What does your SPL say in bootloader? Do you get any errors when trying to flash rom? Are you using USPL or HSPL? If USPL, you have to use it before every flash to new rom or radio. If HSPL, are you using correct version?
Was on Dutty's 3.9 XT, but decided to revert to standard WWE 1.56. I flashed the Std 1.56 ROM successfuly, and then tried to restore the ship SPL 1.54 using the card flash method. This failed, and now I'm stuck on the bootlader screen forever.
No matter what I do the THD always goes to bootloader (red-green-blue-white screen), with following text:
BLAC100 32M
SPL-1.54.0000
MicroP-BlackStone (LED) v6
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again

When I start blac_uspl.exe (USPL 2.5), a window flashes (Vista64) for a split second and then nothing else happens. The Vista64 system's USBs work with THD and have been used to sync over past few months.
When I try to run HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.exe and step through the preliminary screens, the Verify that you want to update ROM version screen has the From Image Version as blank and the To Image Version as 1.56.Olinex. When I click to commit the flash the THD screen switches to white with a progress indicator that always stays at 0% until it times out. Recovery does nothing and the same thing always happens. Using Vista64. .Net installed and fine. I can't use the card method (BLACIMG.NBH) - the system also stays on "Loading .... 0%" and nothing else happens.
When I try to flash anything (have tried HSPL1.56, Dutty's 3.9 ROM, stock 1.54 spl) using the card method, the system says "Loading . . ." and hangs there forever without a progress indicator showing.
Your SPL says 1.54.0000. When you try and run USPL.exe have you remembered to disable your antivirus?
Have you tried usb method instead of card for flashing rom?
I know you have said that youi have used usb for syncing, but when in bootloader does it change from 'serial' to 'usb' when you connect HD to PC?
Fallen Spartan - I want to thank you for taking the time to help me resolve this problem. Very much appreciated!
1. Yes, anti-virus disabled and indeed removed from the PC.
2. Yes, have tried the USB method at least 20 times.
3. Yes, the bootloader changes from Serial to USB. It then goes to the progress indicator screen and hangs on 0%. The progress indicator on the RUU on PC also stays at 0% and eventually times out. I've gone through the Recovery routine at least 20 times, with no luck.
When I try to run SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.exe it says "not a valid Win32 application".
I'm a bit perplexed by this.
You have obviously successfully flashed Duttys V3.9 so drivers are fine, you know how to use USPL, both flashing methods (SD card and usb/pc), disabled anti-virus, phone in bootloader.
Have you tried to reflash 1.56 rom or possibly performing a hard reset before trying to use USPL or HSPL. I doubt this would make a difference though.
Have you tried cRaCKwHoRe's USPL GUI v 2.5 Application?
You don't get any code errors?? I'm struggling to find a solution here.
Yes, this is most vexing. I've flashed innumerable times before and never had an issue. I suspect the SPL is fine, but somehow the actual WM ROM image is corrupted. Will now try to load Std 1.56 ROM image again...
Success! The 3rd attempt at reflashing stock 1.56 ROM worked. I don't know why the system bombed out before. Perhaps one of those inexplicable brain farts..
Anyway, all seems to be fine now. Fallen Spartan, you have my endless gratitude for at least responding. Let me know if you need accommodation at next year's FIFA World Cup in South Africa (though I'm a rugby fan).

Im still stuck. When i installed HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex my screen changed colors but would go back to normal when i would turn the screen off and back on so i didnt see it as a problem. Please check your update utlity.
Then the phone boots up and at the black smart mobility screen in the bottom corner it says
R 1.09.25.14
G 52.49A.25.26U
D 1.14. 21010
the phone boots up with the funny colors again and goes to align screen but it keeps staying there even after i align it.
The bootloader screen says

Am i tryin to install the wrong stock ROM. I purchased the HD from phonesource-usa if that helps also
can anybody help me at all
Adamsville: perhaps you're stuck in bootloader mode because the WM ROM image flashed on your system has become corrupted or disabled, ie the only thing the system can boot into is the bootloader.
Try flashing a new compatible WM ROM image and see if that works.

Hi.
today i bricked my kaiser when i tried to install a dutty's rom
been trying to get this fixxed for over 5 hours. nothing worked out.
used kaisdiag.nbh from h ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420683
in both suggested solutions my kaiser wont go further then the Loading page. ( waited atleast 10 mins twice without any success)
used some other RUU installs while in the tricolour screen:
ahmedfikry wm6.5 23549 Tilt UC light rom
KAISER_WM65_OS23547_PP12MB_Sonblack05
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship

RUU_Kaiser_TMO_UK_3.31.110.3_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.70.18.02_Ship
some other topic sugested to use MTTY.
but that probram says: usb port cannot open.
long story short: im desperate.
can any of u please help me fix my phone ?
its an MDA vario II. model Kais130 P/N 99hcy063-00
thanks in advance.
i'm no expert at recovering bricked phones...
but what i understand is that IF you have a hard SPL (which hard SPL do you have?), then you should be able to recover your device from nearly any situation.
try this...if RUU is not working well, try to flash using the SD card method.
also, try to flash a stock ROM (using RUU as well as using the SD card method). let us know what happens.
Try putting your phone into bootloader, ( press and hold power and camera buttons while doing a soft reset ) once it is in the " tri-color " screen, let us know what it says on the screen.
thanks for your time and the fast response, to both of you.
@#1
i used Pofs hard spl.
and as mentioned above i tried both the RUU way and with my micro SD card.
the SD way only shows me the 'Loading' screen. over and over.
and with the RUU i get several errors. connection errors at 0% and connection errors some later.
some roms just say they wont work on my phone.
and others just reboot my phone.
@#2
i think my phone gets to the bootloader all the time. cause i c no difference when resetting with camera and power button on.
its the tri color screen with the folowing information that shows up:
RUUNBH
Kais130
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8
serial/USB
______________________
the serial shows up when the phone is not connected.. and the USB shows up when its attached to my pc with usb.
Any other suggestions ?
Thanks in advance .
You don't have hard-spl you still have a stock, flash the stock ROM of your carrier from bootloader.
Then follow the noobs guide to flashing.
Thx guys my phone is working like it used to be.
downoaded the original rom from t-mobile again. and again.
now got one wich is working.
thanks for your help.
i was about to throw the brick trough the window.

I have the same problem with my HD7. It’s a T-mobile unlocked phone that I’ve been using for almost a year. About a month ago, I got the Mango update via Zune automatically with no problems. This morning I got a notification for a new HTC update, which I proceeded to accept. On step 9 of 10 the process hanged. Now I can´t get passed the HTC initial white screen. I’m able to reach the tricolor boot screen and are able to connect via USB with the following data:

Can't flash a custom ROM since your SPL is 5.X... you are pretty much stuck with what you have.
only 'hope' with OSPL 5.x, right now, is to Zune restore.
else, wait for XSPL #3 from DFT with hope it includes support for the latest SPL versions...
or jtag to 'repair' the Bootloader so you may flash an older Shipped ROM.
Zune won't recognize the phone. Nothing I can do with Zune..... Thks

thank u so much for everything.
The PD29110 is your devices MID (model id) There are a couple goldcard method tutorials available for hd7. Here's a pretty detailed one you can follow. you need a card reader, some USB cables to make a Y cable, easiest method Y cable (otg)

The hd7 is considered the Schubert, which you'll see in the tutorial.
Are you getting any other information while in bootloader mode, like bootloader version, OS or mico info?

no more info in bootloader mode, it doesn't give me any version or os, just what I wrote before "PD29110 SS-BC (4k)".. when I turn on the phone it just stay in the htc screen and then vibrate like 7 times and that's it.

Ok, definitely bricked, but is it a small or big brick and it sounds like you have the big brick! Then the only other question is, can you enter USB host mode still and if so does your computer recognize it when it's plugged in? Press camera+volume down+power on, to enter in host mode.

If you can get to BL mode then you should be able to get to USB HOST MODE. If you can do that PM me. I'm in Ft Lauderdale not too far and I'v goldcarded at least ten of 'em. If you can't get to Host mode next stop JTAG.
It will go into bootloader mode but it's bricked. Meaning there's only one line of information showing in BL mode which is the devices MID. If it will go into USB host mode there is a possibility of fixing it using the Goldcard method. If it won't go into USB host mode, there is one more possibility of fixing it besides using and having to resort to the Jtag/riff box. Using a cab and the cab sender, like the schubert 2250.21.50001.728 cab. Which if successful would upgrade the spl to 5.xxx and would added a few more lines of information to the bootloader screen but wouldn't repair it completely to where the serial/USB show up on the bottom line. However this should allow you to enter into USB host mode now and then you could use the Goldcard method and flash a stock/shipped rom for your devices specific carrier. This should repair the bootloader and should also downgrade your spl and OS version as well, depending on what version you flash. At this point you can update through Zune to the current OS version and mango. Then if you wanted to, you could use your goldcard to downgrade the spl and install rspl/hspl and flash a custom rom!
