Do you have ADB? If so you can use a terminal window with your phone connected to your computer via usb and run a command to reboot into recovery.
One way to get to recovery is to hold the volume keys while plugging into an ac charger. Once the charging screen fully loads, you should be in recovery. Also, certain kernels don't require the power button to select in recovery; try pressing the softkeys.

Your power button is broken right? Does the power automatically turn on if you insert the battery? If yes, hold both volume buttons (+,-) and insert the battery. That works for me, I have a broken power button too.
I factory reset it via phone privacy menu and I am no longer getting the inconsistant message. And phone is rooted and everything works great.

Hello!
i have an sgs that every time it powered on it goes on an error bootloop of the launcher, and when i choose force close it goes on and on...
the second problem is that the 3 keys combo for entering download mode doesnt work, i mean it just power the phone...
the third problem is that adb cant find the phone after drivers installed.
what options do i have?
sorry for bad english...
Try doing a factory reset, wipe cache and Dalvik cache...and reformat Internal SD card (first remove any importants stuff like pictures)
i cant acess anything in the phone the error deny it from me
Not even recovery mode? Power down phone. Pull battery. Put back battery. Hold down volume up + home key + power button. If this doesnt work and you cant enter download mode with 3 button combo...looks like youll be making a jig. a 302k resistor jumped across pins 4 and 5 of the micro usb. I made one before for a buddies phone and it saved him.
Hold vol_up button, power button and home button for a few secs, when the samsung logo comes up, let go; in recovery mode go into advanced - fix permissions, then after its done, go into advanced again - Wipe Dalvik Cache.
no recovery mode, the phone is unrooted and without recovery
there is really no solution?
I just tried to install CM 10.1.3 on my Motorola Atrix HD.
I forgot to wipe data and cache before installing the ROM, and now it is stuck in the boot animation.
When I press the power and volume keys down together, it takes my phone to a black screen, and when I press them again on the black screen it gives me a brief menu that says
"Normal power up"
"Recovery"
"AP Fastboot"
"Factory"
and another one I can't recall.
This screen times out in about 3 seconds. and regardless of which item from the menu I select, it still shows my boot logo, then the CM animation. I cant boot into fastboot or recovery, and I can't find anything good online to help me.
Help! What do I do?
Hi. There's a catch about the bootloader mode (the menu you're describing). You have to press vol down to scroll down to Recovery, and then press vol up to select it. Pretty dumb IMO but that's how it is.
If you're completely sure you can't get to recovery using this method, you could try going into download mode and factory reset through fastboot:
Here's the guide to get fastboot working:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226527
To go into download mode, shut down the phone completely, hold down the power button and volume down buttons. Then let go of the power button while still holding down the volume button and it should boot to fastboot (download) mode. The connect usb cable to your pc.
You can do a factory reset (format data and cache partitions) using fastboot -w.
Btw, is there any particular reason for going CM10? CM11 is just so much better now, nightlies are pretty good (12/20 has been rock solid for me, even with ART enabled).
Good luck!
Sometimes Power button only functions for screen off.
Holding the power button doesn't show any menu and i cannot take screenshots when this happens..
I restart the phone from the back hole... but then again after about 2 days power button stops working
Phone Status:
Bootloader Locked..
Rooted... but this problem occurred even when the phone wasn't rooted
Any solution ??//

My Motorola Atrix Hd won't boot up every time I turn the phone on the m logo shows up then goes to the recovery screen that have a red triangle their and stay their for a wild then goes back to the m logo how do i fix the problem
If it keeps going to recovery, you could try wiping cache and Dalvik to see of that happens. If this doesn't help, you may need to wipe the data partition too. If that doesn't help, you may have to re-flash the stock ROM.

how do i wipe the data partition
When you boot your phone, it goes right to the dead android all the time? If it does, that is recovery mode. I think you press the volume up key, select the option to wipe data, and reboot.
Special boot modes
Recovery: Hold Volume Down & Power simultaneously.
Bootloader: Hold Volume Up Volume Down & Power simultaneously. On the next screen use Volume Down to scroll to bootloader and then use Volume Up to select.
Fastboot: Hold Volume Up Volume Down & Power simultaneously. On the next screen use Volume Down to scroll to bootloader and then use Volume Up to select.

i did that but the phone is still doing the same thing
What ROM was your phone running? Does it have an unlocked bootloader? Did this happen after you did something to the ROM?
I am also have startup problems.
I manually restarted my phone and it fell into a black screen. No logo motorola. I made all [power + volume (+, -)] => My phone booted into normal.
The cause of this problem?
Since I have a problem I did not start that way anymore: Power -> Reboot
Instead I just power off.

i wasn't using a rom i was actually trying to install one, and the bootloader is locked
Try flashing a rom using rsd lite.
My daughters Motorola X 2nd Gen (XT1095) seems to be locked. When you touch the screen all that shows is the time and a padlock. If you try and slide the padlock up, down or to the left or right the date shows at the top and the battery shows but it will not proceed.
Can anyone tell me what may be happening and how to fix it?
Thanks
I would first hold down the power until it turns off. It sounds like a restart is in order

Restarted it several times, results are the same, still locked.
Sorry to hear that. I didn't see it in your post so I started with square one troubleshooting.
How about rebooting to recovery and trying to wipe the cache?

That just means the bootloader is locked. It has nothing to do with the problem you're having. Try a factory reset if wiping caches didn't work.

Get the phone to the bootloader. Open a cmd on your computer and type MFASTBOOT ERASE USERDATA. that'll factory reset it for you.
