Hello all.
First of all sorry for my English, I am French.
I am pleased to have a galaxy rating, some time ago I made the step to ICS. With different versions and problems.
Then a few days ago I tested the LRG and I had an issue with the SIM. I saw on some forum that there was a version LRK so I installed (properly back then WIPE GB flash and LRK).
Almost everything is OK, I'm lawful way the appearance of a "SIM card full delete items." I specified that it was the message I had with the LRG, I have nothing on the SIM card, no message, no contact, I contacted the service after selling my supplier and I have provided a new SIM. I was quiet about a night for about two or three days I have faith that this message back. Among the contributors of this forum are there any people that has happened (I'm SFR) and if so have you managed to solve this and if so how.
Is there a solution?
Thank you in advance to all those who try to find a solution to my problem.
Jaouen.
your messages you will have lost forever, as well as contacts etc if you didnt backup
if your internet/sms receiving sending is not working you need to check your apn settings, go to settings, mobile networks, accespoint names etc and check entered info. Check providers website if settings are correct
also check if emei is same as when device was delivered, dial *#06# that will show it. Is it same?

Thank you for these elements. For my backups no worries there (old user of galaxy S). For paramettres APN are the good I check. The IMEI is OK. At present I can send and receive messages (but the icon is not present, I would check when it is returned). Cordially.

thats good then your phone is operational. What is your issue then? I think I misunderstood?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
If I understand him correctly, I guess his issue was that when he flashed ROMs(from LRG to LRK), he often gets an annoying message of '"SIM card full delete items" through according to him, he doesn't have anything on his SIM at all. It prompts him to delete but I guess everytime he deletes it, it still pops up that message.
@OP
I guess you need to try to change simcards bud and see if that message comes up again. That's my logical way of trying to dissect which is the root cause of your issue.
Cheers!
yep I misunderstood,
ok a new sim should be empty, but people have reported that by putting sim in old phone and deleting the messages on old sim on old phone solved. You could try that. Sorry for the misunderstanding earlier.

Good evening, I went on vacation and I read your post that today. A new SIM did not resolve the concerns. Check for even after having my GalaxyS with what is empty. If you no longer have this message "SIM full" I disable push messages in paramettres. since all are well, and for three days I handed push messages and I have not had any message. My operator is "SFR" I think it came from home. For me and without knowing how it is resolved. Thank you to you for your help. Jaouen.

The problem also exists on 4.0.4 LRB.
This problem only appear when the incoming SMS is flagged to be stored directly into SIM card and not internal memory.
Such special flagged SMS are for example sent by the French mobile operator called "SFR" to inform customer about their phone plan usage.

Got my ignito the other day and realised yesterday that I haven't received any texts. The girlfriend also asked why I hadn't replied to her messages, and when I tried to send a message it comes up with:
Your text cannot be sent, check service center address in settings

Have looked through the settings and cannot find anywhere where to input the service centre number for O2. Also tried t O2 and O2 service settings programs in the program list, and they have problems connecting to retrieve any settings. Also on the O2 customer forum other people don't seem to have this problem.
Also have called customer services and even they are a bit unaware and wern't even in the know that this phone had been released. The data service guy over there hasn't even got any settings to push to the phone and has gone off to look for some.
Any ideas ?
Edit: The technical guy talked me through going into strat->settings and the phone area, then clicking on services and the 'voice mail and text messages' then retriving the settings to get to the message centre number. But when i do this the error thrown up says:
Cannot read settings from the network, try viewing settings later or disconnect data connection and try again.

Tried taking out battery and a hard eset and nothing has helped. The only thin I have done to the phone is update to HARD-SPL but have not flashed a custom ROM yet. Could this be the problem at all, as I didn't test the SMS before updating this ?

Might not help but have you tried removing sim and replacing?

Ye the customer service guy got me to do that, and reset, but still the same. Just tried it again and still nothing. Will try my friends SIM card in the ignito to make sure it isn't my old SIM card.
Just managed to send an MMS to someone on the desk next to me at work, so just seems like MMS. Fiddling with different settings in the MMS, like gateway number ports etc, and MMS still works with a number of possible settings but no SMS.
Really hope I didn't screw it up with the HARD SPL, but will try other versions of that tonight.
Cleaned the SIM and nothing, plus a big thing I CAN RECEIVE TEXTS, but still can't send them. But in the phone settings area I can connect to the network for all the other options like call barring, caller ID, call forwarding, and call waiting, just not the voicemail and SMS option.
Lol comedy of errors.
start>settings>connections>advanced network
SMS Tab
there will be 4 possible settings here.
I sugest you try each of them, with a powercycle between each attempt just for good measure.
I had this on T-Mobile - the Sim didn't input the settings on install.
Go to phone > menu > options > services > voice and text settings and click get settings, you can try to input the service centre if it isn't there or wrong.
Cheers for that boys but still no luck. Tried all the GSM GPRS settings in the SMS tab and still the same.
ericson68, tried that lots the day I realised i was having text problems, plus the guy on the phone from O2 got me to try that, but as soon as i click on the SMS/voicemail settings tab it rejects it and says unable to contact. All other tabs on there can be conected to, like call baring etc, just the texts one which is screwed.
O2 have offered to give me a new one when a courier comes to collect the old one. only problem is my billing address is my parents house where the box is, so have to send the phone back to them tomorrow through our royal fail post system. Special delivery time I think.
Could the hard SPL upgrade have affected this in anyway, Im still running the ROM that came with it though ?
Just out of interest if you do a hard reset and then insert the sim do you get a notification asking to set up o2, or is your phone o2 branded?

The phone is O2 branded and has O2 software on it as well.
I have just hard reset it without the SIM card in and it installs some O2 things going through the progress bar, and also brings up a page to do with O2 GPRS settings and automatically configuring it.
another try
Hi

I have a swedish phone so I am guessing the English meny names.
Maybe you can try this.
Go into settings, select phone, select services, tap "voicemail and sms", tap "get settings from network" and see what happens. You should receive the sms servicec enter number.
Kindest Regards

Is it possible to type in the number and tap ok. That should initiate the phone/network with the message center number..
If there is a number there, what number is it?

Change the SIM card
Hi,
if you search the forum you will see that several people have the same problem, including myself...
Anyways, only solution (so far) is to change the SIM card. So just change your SIM card with your provider and it should work (this is probably free or really cheap anyways, you keep the same number etc.).
I have an unlocked Diamond and the same problem. Only my SIM card with Telenor provider does not work. Other Telenor cards work and also cards from different provider work.
So just change the SIM card and it should work (some people already tried it and it worked, I am too lazy to go to the store, but I will do it soon. until then I have another SIM card (different number) which works fine)
Cheers!
was this number ported to o2, or was it a new contract?
i had the same problem in the first 24 hours, worked fine after that.
Hey
Sorry didn't reply. Just after my last post I tried a friends SIM card at work and it worked fine, so must be my old sim card (5 yrs). My contract was an upgrade and have been with O2 for those 5 yrs.
New card on way to me now, thanks for all the help !
Custom ROM time this weekend
My phone was stolen and person was stupid enough to call back to my wife and we got his number an he was forced to give it back. I called my network and they barred a phone. Now when I got it back I called my network and they ordered "unbarring". They said it can take up to 2 days.
I still waiting (24h)and when I start my phone now it says "SIM card changed" and I have phone pad and "Emergency phone calls be made" and thats it. It never comes to Touch Flo an I can't navigate to something other.
My question is it right or something is done to my phone while it was gone. I couldn't reflash it because it doesn't have access to internal storage. It says G but no networks bars...
Is it supposed to look like this when phone is barred?
I thought that when phone is barred via IMEI nr that you can't use phone for calls and sms (because it's baned on any network) but still TouchFlo should be accessible. I didn't realize that phone itself can be locked...
You can flash a new rom from bootloader, using a custom ruu

i was answering that part of your question lol yes thats how it should look when your imei is barred, if you look in the development and hacking section there is software there to change ur imei number wich will unbar it, you will almost certainly be braking the law doing it tho so i suggest you try other methods first,

Tnx for your answer. No, I don't want to change IMEI nr. Why should I do that now when I know that is "only" barred? That is my phone and I will wait for network to fix this.

I think a 3rd party software had been installed in your phone. To give you an idea, I'm using this great FREE software so I can control my phone just in case if it's stolen:
http://remotetracker.sourceforge.net/
HELP!!!
This morning (after 3 days) my phone has been "unbarred", yeaaaa!
But...
I had my SIM card X (may old private number) in phone when it's start working and I replaced with SIM card Y (my job number) which I was using with my phone over a year before it was stolen/barred. And guess what? Now when I put in SIM card Y (job) it doesn't work!!! Of course I tried card Y in another telephone and it is working!
My Y (job)network says that the still can see that my phone is barred and they hope that it will be unbarred for their network with delay because it was not "home network" for telephone . Phone was not locked to none of networks.
Any clue on this?
My apologies to the administrators for double posting. I posted in the wrong forum.
I am unable to send sms but can receive on my rooted Galaxy Note N7000.
When I check the Phone Information by dialing *#*#4636#*#*, the SMSC: field is blank.
If I click on refresh, it returns "00".
If I attempt to enter the number manually it just returns "update error".
I'm assuming that the number is stored on the SIM card and for some reason the phone can't read/access the stored number. This happened once before after rooting the phone and all I had to do then was hit refresh and update.
I re-checked from time to time and saw that the SMSC field was blank sms messages were sending correctly.
I tried installing Gingerbread 2.3.6 but I'm not sure is this was completely successful. The Settings > About Phone confirms the version as 2.3.6
but
1. it made no difference to the SMSC problem
2. all my settings, data and apps are still there.
3. the phone is still rooted.
I assumed all that would get wiped with a f/w upgrade. The instructions I followed said the phone would be reverted to non-rooted. I guess I must have got something wrong.
I talked to a guy at my local telco today. He spotted that the phone was rooted so was quick to blame that (maybe correctly) as the cause. However, when I showed him the settings page revealed by the *#*#4636#*#* string, he thought this was some software app I'd installed myself and not the phone's f/w till he typed the string on his own phone and saw it for himself.
Can anyone suggest a fix? Un-rooting? Wait for the next official Android upgrade for my phone/region?
Thanks in advance
Trevor
is your Msg center number is correct?
Go to Msging - setting - msg center number - confirm it with your operator/other person using same network.
Hmmm, interesting question. I checked with my telco today and they confirmed the correct SMSC number is 96197777 or this number with the country code prefix, +65 96197777. I'm in Singapore.
I checked my wife's phone and this is also the number she has on her SIM card.
So, I decided to try a trick I read about on the net last night. I put my SIM card in the wife's phone and manually entered 96197777. Then put the SIM card back into the Note and hit refresh (the SMSC field is always blank by default until I hit refresh).
The number that came up was 06915669917777!
I don't recognise this number but it works. I put my SIM card back into the wife's phone and it shows the number I entered - 96197777. I wonder WTF is going on.
Thanks for replying.
UPDATE
I just realised you were talking about the Settings in the Messaging App itself which I missed. Apologies for not reading coirrectly. The Message Centre number was blank so I've now entered +6596197777 and sent a message successfully. I'm still confused about which number is being used though. Maybe the one on the SIM card is ignored but if that's the case, why was I able to send messages with NO number entered in the messaging app itself?
Sorry for the long winded story.

Hi there!
I've looked around the forum for a solution to this issue and unfortunately my case doesn't apply to any of the posts I've found.
Three months ago I followed the instructions of the hex hack posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881162 in order to restore my phone's IMEI (since then I've been using the generic one 00499... etc)
The phone was rooted using Odin3 v1.7 to install the CF Root Kernel CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v3.1-CWM3RFS.tar and finally I unlocked it.
The thing is my phone can't make/receive any calls. I've tried my old SIM card in another phone and it worked.
It's not the SIM card. I even asked for a new one just in case and my phone company sent it for free, but it's still not working.
I tried a different SIM card from the same company in my phone and it works just fine, so it can't be the IMEI being barred.
The weirdest thing of all is I still receive emails and whatsapp messages because the phone logs in to the 3G network without any trouble. Under "Status" you'll see:
Phone number - Unknown
Network - Claro AR
Service state - Out of service
Mobile network state - Connected
I restored the nv_data files in the efs folder thinking they might have been corrupted but I couldn't solve anything.
WTF is going on? Any expert suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thank you!
claro ar

Yes it did. Not sure when exactly but must have been on wednesday night.
I haven't found a solution yet but the phone is working since this morning. I don't know for how long it will stay this way.
Please post any news or changes in your phone. It might help us, you never know.
Thanks
Hi,
I'm having the same issue all over again, exactly as described above.
Can somebody give me a hand here? Please?
Thank you very much!
Hello everyone,
I am somewhat new to android phones, as I just got an HTC One 3 months ago. I successfully rooted my phone and installed the Android revolution hd rom for Jelly bean 4.2. Recently whenever I try to use my data it doesn't work, even though I have a good amount of bars. Also I have not been able to receive mms messages and pictures, they just say "message not downloaded, generic network failure". Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,

Ok so I entered in all of the APN information, and saved it. Is there a step I missed because it unfortunately I still not working. I noticed that I had some other APNs in my list and I was able to select one of them to use. Should I be able to do the same with the one I just saved?

I am with AT&T.

Try typing *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer, click "phone information", then go down and set preferred network type to "gsm/wcdma/lte auto" That's what worked for me.

I just tried the phone information, unfortunately no luck. Thanks though. When I rebooted my phone today there was a notification that popped up that said "sim card inserted, tap to complete setup". I tapped it and a list of my "providers" popped up but at&t wasn't on the list.Is this the source of the problem?
I'm not sure, I've never seen that. Have you tried taking your SIM card out and putting it back in?
You could always call att, ask to get transferred to tech support and have them enter the codes for you. Maybe they got messed up somehow? Idk...
