Hello everyone,
I am somewhat new to android phones, as I just got an HTC One 3 months ago. I successfully rooted my phone and installed the Android revolution hd rom for Jelly bean 4.2. Recently whenever I try to use my data it doesn't work, even though I have a good amount of bars. Also I have not been able to receive mms messages and pictures, they just say "message not downloaded, generic network failure". Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Whawhasiscumba

Go to settings > Mobile Data > Access point names and see if theres anything there. You may need to log onto your carriers website and download APN/MMS settings.

Ok so I entered in all of the APN information, and saved it. Is there a step I missed because it unfortunately I still not working. I noticed that I had some other APNs in my list and I was able to select one of them to use. Should I be able to do the same with the one I just saved?

What carrier are you with first of all ?
I am with AT&T.

Try typing *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer, click "phone information", then go down and set preferred network type to "gsm/wcdma/lte auto" That's what worked for me.

I just tried the phone information, unfortunately no luck. Thanks though. When I rebooted my phone today there was a notification that popped up that said "sim card inserted, tap to complete setup". I tapped it and a list of my "providers" popped up but at&t wasn't on the list.Is this the source of the problem?
I'm not sure, I've never seen that. Have you tried taking your SIM card out and putting it back in?
You could always call att, ask to get transferred to tech support and have them enter the codes for you. Maybe they got messed up somehow? Idk...

Hello all.
First of all sorry for my English, I am French.
I am pleased to have a galaxy rating, some time ago I made the step to ICS. With different versions and problems.
Then a few days ago I tested the LRG and I had an issue with the SIM. I saw on some forum that there was a version LRK so I installed (properly back then WIPE GB flash and LRK).
Almost everything is OK, I'm lawful way the appearance of a "SIM card full delete items." I specified that it was the message I had with the LRG, I have nothing on the SIM card, no message, no contact, I contacted the service after selling my supplier and I have provided a new SIM. I was quiet about a night for about two or three days I have faith that this message back. Among the contributors of this forum are there any people that has happened (I'm SFR) and if so have you managed to solve this and if so how.
Is there a solution?
Thank you in advance to all those who try to find a solution to my problem.
Jaouen.
your messages you will have lost forever, as well as contacts etc if you didnt backup
if your internet/sms receiving sending is not working you need to check your apn settings, go to settings, mobile networks, accespoint names etc and check entered info. Check providers website if settings are correct
also check if emei is same as when device was delivered, dial *#06# that will show it. Is it same?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Thank you for these elements. For my backups no worries there (old user of galaxy S). For paramettres APN are the good I check. The IMEI is OK. At present I can send and receive messages (but the icon is not present, I would check when it is returned). Cordially.

thats good then your phone is operational. What is your issue then? I think I misunderstood?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
If I understand him correctly, I guess his issue was that when he flashed ROMs(from LRG to LRK), he often gets an annoying message of '"SIM card full delete items" through according to him, he doesn't have anything on his SIM at all. It prompts him to delete but I guess everytime he deletes it, it still pops up that message.
@OP
I guess you need to try to change simcards bud and see if that message comes up again. That's my logical way of trying to dissect which is the root cause of your issue.
Cheers!
yep I misunderstood,
ok a new sim should be empty, but people have reported that by putting sim in old phone and deleting the messages on old sim on old phone solved. You could try that. Sorry for the misunderstanding earlier.

Good evening, I went on vacation and I read your post that today. A new SIM did not resolve the concerns. Check for even after having my GalaxyS with what is empty. If you no longer have this message "SIM full" I disable push messages in paramettres. since all are well, and for three days I handed push messages and I have not had any message. My operator is "SFR" I think it came from home. For me and without knowing how it is resolved. Thank you to you for your help. Jaouen.

The problem also exists on 4.0.4 LRB.
This problem only appear when the incoming SMS is flagged to be stored directly into SIM card and not internal memory.
Such special flagged SMS are for example sent by the French mobile operator called "SFR" to inform customer about their phone plan usage.

Hello everyone,
Been using my HTC One on 4.2.2 (STOCK) with no issues until suddenly two days, I could not make calls or receive calls nor send or receive text messages.
I called T-mobile technical team and complained but simcard seems to be working fine, I took out my t-mobile simcard into my iPhone and it worked perfectly no issues.
I went ahead to buy different networks simcards Three UK & 02 tried it both on my htc but still the same no signal or network, so its definitely something wrong somewhere on my HTC one.
All simcards bought and including my T-mobile simcard worked well on the iphone and not the HTC.
Which i find very strange before this happened my HTC has been working fine, please the tech geeks in the forum help me out. Has anyone encountered this problem and how did you fix it?
What I have done so far:
I have restarted or rebooted my HTC one.
I have reset and wiped my HTC to factory settings
I have done a soft reset
still no luck, I need help guys.
Everything works fine I just dont have network signal to make calls/receive/send or receive text messages, I noticed on the upright coner where the signal strength is there is an 'X' symbol included a screenshot.
Please help

Okay they should be able to run technical support for you and exchange it if there is still warranty. Don't know how Tmobile UK works but that's how it works here in the states.

I bought it off a friend which it does not have warranty, I tried flashing custom rom thinking this might solved the problem. I successfully unlocked the bootloader installed TWRP but I cant view my folders :crying:
Its says internal memory 0mb I read somewhere online to mount my sdcard I tried mounting it but it says unable to mount partition, I tried wiping cache none of this worked am stuck with stock.
Right now can anyone tell me how to fix this problem am having with TWRP cant view my sdcard folder, I want to flash official firmware 4.2.2. or flash a custom rom on the HTC one.
Please assist
I finally fixed the unable to mount sdcard issue with TWRP I guess the twrp I installed was faulty I made use of Hasson2000 v3.1 Tool kit it fixed it :fingers-crossed:
Now am back to square one flashing custom rom to fix my issue of unable to make or receive calls or text message, can anyone help with a direct link on this forum on How to flash Custom rom on HTC one S-ON ?
So far I have unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP 2.6.0, I know there alot of them on this forum but a noobie guide will be great thanks.
Just ad update: I have flashed Viperrom 2.6.0 now my HTC One has network and signal but I cant still make or receive calls what is really going on with HTC ONE m7?
Please if anyone has experienced this and fixed it please how did you fix this issue?
sme problem
I have exactly the same problem ice flashed new firmwares and new radios it's got me stumped
Dialer glitch / can't make calls
I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but when attempting to call someone from the stock phone dialer, I am unable to call. The phone will decide to call maybe 10-15 seconds later even if I have locked my phone. Apparently there is a bug with Skype that causes the phone to act funny when attempting to call. I had the same issue, and after ensuring the Skype service isn't running, and I am logged out of Skype, my phone dialer is no longer glitching. Worth a try before flashing, resetting phone?
You could also try completely removing skype, and all the files associated with it from your phone.

Hello, everyone, I'd like to share my experience, get any help if someone can, and warn some future people.
So a few months ago i rooted and ROM swapped my HTC one. It was great, I loved it, it was fast and simple.
I tried to change the ROM on it the other day and everything went down hill form there. Basically I ended up having no service and everything else seeming to work fine. So after spending an entire day trying to fix it with BD619, i had to call my carrier today. Now i have the sprint phones, and the sprint service, but i have Credo as a carrier. God knows why. They essentially gave me nothing saying my phone must be bricked and they can't help me.
One thing they did try however was to have me put in a ##xxxxx# number, and there i saw and could edit my MDN and MSID, instead of showing my my phone number and the MSID number they both had "No" written. So he had me edit it and put it in, but when i click "commit changes" it said "commit failed" so if anyone knows anything about that or could help me there, it'd greatly appreciated.
Lesson is, even if you think you know what you are doing, and are careful, weird stuff can happen, and if you have an Odd carrier version of an already less support model of phone (the sprint version), then be EXTRA careful.

Yes, twice
This is not an uncommon problem but it happens with certain HTC ones and not others. I have helped a few other people with this issue. Most likely, your current ROM is set to RUIN/SIM in Settings-> More-> Mobile Network -> Subscription settings. It needs to be set to NV. If you can't get to this setting, you need to flash a ROM that has the setting available. CM 10 based ROMs all seem to have it. If your phone does not automatically reactivate, you can flash to a stock ROM and use the handsfree activation function and that should get you back up.

Try flashing a CM10 ROM. I've always seen the option there. The kitkat ROMs I have used do not have the option except for the Nocs GE.

The only way something like this happens is one of two things.....
1. Ur a noob
2. Your a dev and your testing ril on your rom
The only way to fix this which is a cleared meid of some sort......flashing cm10.1 is the only way and aquiring service by switching to nv....once there everything is fixed just flash/restore back to your rom.

i'd kinda like to argue a point here as this just happened to me. i am certainly not new to flashing, starting back with the mogul and having almost every sprint smart phone since then unlocked (windows) or rooted (webos and android).
Using TWRP and previously running ecliptic 4.3 i wiped caches, system and data then installed the 4.4.2 from team d3rp and voila... no service no meid no nothing.... yes i have the latest radio on my phone.
i guess my point in this is that there's a number 3 that you didn't mention.
3. sh!t happens and it's not n00b related.
for anyone else that has this issue... flashing CM 10.1 worked for me. i didn't even have to set up anything, it just picked up signal. so i rebooted, wiped and nandroided back to 4.3 and all is well.

I didn't... it was SuperOneK. i'm certainly not blaming the rom though. especially not when others are flashing it fine. the ONLY thing i can think of possibly happening is a bad download. I was in a rush and didn't check the md5.
I had a similar problem when flashing miui. Nothing worked. Even went back to a sense backup and nothing worked.
Commit failed as well.
Here's what I did to make it work again.
Flashed cm10. Change the network settings for CDMA. (Boom it SAID I had service..but didn't).
Rebooted a few times (probably not necessary).
Flashed a sense 4.3 ROM that was close to stock.
Update msl and all that. Commit.
For me..changed LTE/CDMA to just CDMA (no 4g in wv).
Boom it worked again. Hope this helps!

Hi all
I've had a look around the forum and all posts on this subject relate to US versions of this problem.
Anyway, I don't live in a 4G area, but yesterday I happened to be in central London. But I had no 4G. I went into the settings and there was no 4G option, only GSM and WCDMA. I downloaded an app and forced it into 4G and it worked, although I only ever got 1 bar, but the data worked.
I called Three, they said I should send it back to HTC for repair! I said thanks but no thanks.
I bought my phone SIM free in the UK from Expansys, I checked the bootloader screen, it's a W7_UL (I believe the L means it's LTE enabled) and I've rooted it (no custom ROMS, just root). I suspect I don't have a 4G SIM, but I don't know how to find out. Only after researching this did I discover - to my horror and bafflement - that there is a version of the One without 4G. I was briefly worried I had managed to spend £400 on a lemon, but it seems I am able to use 4G if I force it.
Any ideas?
I just noticed something in odd in my software versions. I'm still on Android 4.3...
Isn't the HTC One now on 4.4? Sense version is 5.5, Software number 3.62.401.1 and HTC SDK API level 5.65
I ran an OTE update, it says no new updates.
Three are gradually upgrading everyone's account to 4G, so there's a slim chance you've not been moved over yet, but as for the OTA update I believe HTC pulled it temporarily but I think it should be available again so keep trying (or manually install it if you're S-OFF)

Are you S-OFF? If so, and the ROM is otherwise stock, I'd flash the 4.4.2 OTA manually and see what happens. If it's still not working after that then might be worth giving a custom ROM a go...from my experience of Three's 4G to date it's quite good, but obviously still rolling out

Try "dialing" *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone information -> and set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto (or you can also force "LTE only" to test)

Yep, I tried that and it did go to 4G. As soon as I reboot the phone, it reverts back to WCDMA/GSM.
For your info OP......I have an unlocked One (now 4.2.2 but 4.3 at the time) from carphone warehouse on a Three UK plan, I don't live in a 4g area but I recently visited Cambridge and noticed "4g " instead of the usual H or 3g on the notification bar , I did a speed test and it was 14Mb+ so I guess my account and phone are both 4G ready , I had done nothing to try to set this up or force it, it just happened.

Is there a way of forcing it to update?
Hi there, I've got an european HTC ONE with Vodafone Brand. Yesterday I got the message to update to Lollipop. After this fails, because of ElementalX I used my old Recovery Image and restored it. After that the Update went well. Now I was outside the first time, without Wifi and mobile Data won't turn on. The Telephone and sms works great. Now I don't know what to do. Any Ideas?
Is there The right apn in the settings picture below.

Go-to settings - mobile data - access point names - 3 dot menu in top right and select reset to defaults, the screen will change and you'll just have to select your mobile operator from the list again, give it 2 mins and it should work.
When congstar is not in The list you have to add a apn manualy with The right settings ( Google helps )

Last thing I can suggest is get the apn settings off your operator and manually enter them, sometimes they can send you a data packet in a text message which will automatically update the apn for you.
You usually get these same type of texts when you put a new SIM card into your phone, just got to ring them and get them to send it manually this time.
Hey tried that too. Set everything up, restartet, but no mobile data. Any idea?

contact your carrier, or even better, bring them your phone so they can confirm the APN is set correctly and that there is no problem on their side. Then you might want to try a factory reset before trying anything else.
Hi, I just had it short times working. Sometimes it is very short times there but most of the time it is not connected. Is it a Must to add an APN manually? I have never done this before.

No, it's easy, again goto settings, mobile data, 3 dot menu in the top right and select new apn, you will be presented with a load of things to fill out, you can usually get the details from the help section on your mobile operators website, or by calling them and have them talk you through each setting, not all sections need to be filled out, then save it and set it as the one to use rather than the other one you have now which doesn't work.
