On my tablet the kernel I'm running has 2 additional slots, 1.2 and 1.38. Is there anyway to achieve this with the overclock kenerl modules from mavrom or eclipse, so we can get a better balance of performance and battery life. I find my phone drains much faster during use, but if it could use additional speeds like a 1.1 and a 1.2 it wouldn't have to go full speed when it just needs a bit more speed.
Also does anyone know why the device sometimes fails to wake from sleep when overclocked. The capacitive buttons will light up, but the screen won't and ill have to battery pull

Just use script manager and use the opptimizer module and make a script to change the oc. Idk about extra slots no.

If I'm not mistaken, extra slots are created by the kernel.. My Transformer TF101 goes from 216mHz to 1.7 gHz, and has like 12 different slots

Ya my Galaxy tab2 has 6 slots with a custom kernel, I just didn't know if the same could be achieved with kernel modules, like what we use to oc currently

Probably possible, but we have a new kernel coming our way soon

Well maybe the kexec kernel may have that availability addable to it.

Yes it will. Its not a locked kernel. Someone just needs to develop a kernel for overclocking.
Sent from my DROID3 using xda app-developers app
the latest kexec kernel probably have 1 extra slot, since its based on the razr kernel, and is clocked at 1.2
but i wasnt able to make the modules work on the newer kernel for some reason

Look into the thread of the Glitch-kernel and try this settings.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
as stated above...read up before you do anything...o/c u/v is very chip specific....some people just cant do it because of their chips...others can ocuv like mad, its an incremental thing that needs step by step stress testing....hint...never set anything as boot setting until you are totally certain that you are stable...hope this helps a bit
Be sure to have two things on your internal sd when you try oc/uv: the kernel cleaning script and the volt scheduler.

More features like bigmem, touchwake, more governors etc but when i overclock on semaphore the odd app will crash.
i read that the crashed by live oc are caused of the low voltage you must toogle the voltage ... can sema kernel have a longer battery life ?

Same as stock (battery life). Increasing the voltage is at risk, and cause a decrease battery life!
Each other kernel except Stock is unnecessary (in my opinion)! :fingers-crossed: I don't see any advantage
sorry my english is not the best so you say these kernels like sema kernel are not necessary stock is good ?

On what Rom you are?
I suggest to flash Zeus Rom 7.5 or 7.6. Zeus tweaker is built in app. There you can change frequency and MHz up to 1350

There is no Ics kerel that can be overclocked, nuff said....
And this doesn't belong in General...
Sent from my phone powered by 4.2
There are a few kernels for GB 2.3.4 that can OC, I would suggest use Zeus 6.4 or higher, it already comes with a OC kernel and an app to use it.
There kernels for CM7 that can OC.
There is at least one kernel for CM10 with OC.
There is no OC kernel for LG's ICS.
If you have a kernel that supports OC you normally need an app to set OC because your CPU runs normally at 300-1000 MHz and you need to change that setting.

Hi,
Can you need : v30b-kernel-overclock1.2ggh.zip ( Xda ) :

It's not working...errors with voltage and CPU don't get higher than 1000mhz

any chance this is possible? only enable 2 core working.
With a custom kernel its no problem,i could do that on my gnex

Kernel Tweaker.. it has some of the options.. *root*
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lTuner&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Just root permission won't do it, you need custom kernel which supports under voltage and kernel manager there are some good ones out there

What performance? I find stock CM kernel to give the fastest and smoothest animations, desktop transitions, and scrolling. Haven't done any benchmarks or compared how do they feel when play video games.

I simply mean i can now overclock and overvolt cpu and gpu .cm kernel is great but it doesn't have the same control.it benchmark score is the same as stock on quadrant 5460 with boeffla 7654

With stock CM kernel one can OC GPU.
I new that. But who cares about benchmarks? OK maybe some video games will run more smoothly, but I doubt. And as I said, on my phone at least, GUI feels smoother and more responsive on stock CM kernel. Not to mention that it is more stable. With Boeffla kernel it is a matter of time before pegasuq governor starts behaving strange, and sound gets heavy distortion. That is on my device.
I presume Boefla runs better on i9300. It is only ported to our device.

I dont do benchnarks and it is my personal prefrence for a kernel .i never said cm was a bad kernel its great i just prefer boeffla it works for me and has boeffla sound
