Hi,
Bought the wife a Touch Dual, but I cannot seem to find any crystal cases for it.
Does anyone have any leads on where I can get one ?
TIA
check this out... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1796137#post1796137
I just ordered this from hong kong for £3.99 inc postage, will let you know what it's like if it turns up lol, also read a thread that said i may need to change touch sensitivity setting to accomodate the case so bear that in mind

Update!!!
Crystal case is great! good build, fits well and is also supplied with a screen proctector and ......carry strap (?)
nice gesture but don't know why. Also when in case, buttons recesed ( doesn't affect functions!) so stops unwanted apps launching while in your pocket
Post here how your Nexus S looks like, or how it's going to look like, complete with accessories, custom ROM's and more! Just use this quote:

You can add more, of course, if you miss something. As for accessories, hyperlinks would be nice.
Let me start off. I don't own a Nexus S, as for now at least, but this is how it's going to look like:
Phone (display type): i9023 Nexus S (Super Clear LCD)
Root: No
Custom ROM: No
Homescreen replacement: Launcher Pro Plus
Screen protector: Seidio USG Crystal Clear
Case: "S" Curved Gel Case Black
Other accessories: No
Carrier (+ country): Vodafone (Netherlands)
Subscription: 70 minutes/sms, datalimit 10x the average, speed 3,6mb/s (23 euro/month, 1 year)
Notes:
I am not sure about the case yet. It is either this case or PlastiDip. What looks better to you?
As for the homescreen replacement, I'll stick with stock Android for a while, untill I get bored with it. Launcher Pro Plus looks very cool!
Phone (display type): i9020 Nexus S (Super AMOLED)
Root: Yes
Custom ROM: No
Homescreen replacement: No
Screen protector: None
Case: None
Other accessories: Car Holder
Carrier (+ country): Plus (Poland)
Subscription: 200 minutes/sms, 3G speeds up/down limit 25GB (110 PLN/month, 6 months)
Notes:
For now ... none xD
25GB limit? That is sick! Here we have unlimited, but that doesn't mean 25GB! Unlimited is 10x the average of the users, so that would be in between 1 en 2GB.

Yeah, I already thought that most of you would use a custom ROM, because this is a developers forum. I don't see the point, even to root (except for taking screenshots), but I'm glad you like it so much!
This trinity kernel overclocks the device from 1Ghz to 1.4, right? Is it much faster?

for me its out of personal enjoyment....flashing roms and getting out of bootloops etc As I understand (I am new to all this) it has been overclocked like you say and yes....according to benchmarks it makes a big performance increase. Real world difference....well its a fast bit of kit to start with but for boot times I find overclocked faster. I think the whole mod scene is great IF that's what you want to do, like I say I enjoy the whole process and it is useful to be able to get rid of apps you don't want or need. My first modded phone was a SE X10i and root+roms made a hell of a difference to that device which was and is handicapped by Sony.

Hmm, I see none of you use a screen protector. Any reasons for that?
I am going to buy the clearest and most touch responsive on the market, the Seidio USG Crystal Clear. I don't like my screen protector to mess with the colours and responsiveness, but I don't mind fingerprints: I just use a screen protector so that I know that I can easily take it off and that my normal screen isn't damaged. It feels a lot safer!
Funny though that you do use cases!

While it's not "gorilla glass", the screen is still glass, and it's very difficult to scratch glass. I somehow managed a small scratch on my very first iPhone (original model) despite kid-glove treatment, but I could only see it when the screen was off.
4 iPhones and 5 Androids later, with none of them using a screen protector, I've yet to have scratched any of them, even when placed in my pocket with other items like a second phone, headsets, etc. I personally just don't think they're necessary. YMMV
On the other hand, especially with Samsung's plastic backed phones, protection for the back makes some sense, as they do scratch up easily. My i9000 got scruffed up noticeably after a couple of months. I ended up putting an Invisible Shield back on it. Still haven't bothered with that on the NS, though.

Well, I know that glass is almost impossible to scratch, at least as impossible is Gorilla Glass (<- only helps it not to break when you drop your phone), and I don't want a screen protector to mess with the colours and touch responsiveness/feel of the phone, but with a super clear one like the Seidio it is as good as without a screen protector. It's just that I feel safer with a screen protector.
I think I'm just going to buy one, see if there is much difference between with or without protector in responsiveness, feel and looks. If there is much difference, I'm not going to use a protector. After all my brothers Xperia X10 hasn't got any scratches, and it doesn't have a screen protector either.

Nothing! I just think it is interesting to see which accessories people are using, and if they use custom ROM's. For example, I just found out that no one uses a screen protector!
Of course, you can add whatever you want. What else do you want me to know?
Phone (display type): Super Amoled, love this super amoled, especially when prople says "that black ... it's so black!" (Yeah, I use pure black wallpaper).
Root: No
Custom ROM: No
Homescreen replacement: LauncherPro Plus
Screen protector: None
Case: None
Other accessories: This pouch
Carrier (+ country): Vodafone, The Netherlands (I bought my NS from UK)
Subscription: I don't remember, but it is still the old unlimited one.
Notes:
I cannot stand screen protector, nor phone case. Screen protector is fine (I used it with my old WM), if applied "perfectly". Perfect = aligned correctly, and no trapped bubbles. Oh and the edge of the screen protector, it attract and trap dusts!
Since my HTC Desire, I just use soft pouch. And it is perfect for the naked phone. No problem with scratch or anything and the phone still looks new
Root? Probably ok for screen-shooting. But that's not worth the hassle, because I dont quite like custom ROM. Stock ROM is still OK so far. Even though has some quirks like un-stable WiFi and laggy browser which cannot be fixed with any custom ROM anyway
@hierboven

Notes:
shopnbc sold a bundle which included a case, it appears to close with a snap button and opens vertically and made of black 'leather-like' material. they included the model number of it online. searching for "PCBK-A7" online gives results for retailers, including sellers on ebay who sell the very same case going for around $11 total.
ecost has one for $11.09 total
ebay has a retailer selling for $10.99 total
A quick Google search turned up the following link:
http://www.thenerds.net/STREAMTV_NE...r_Like_Case_For_A7_Series_Tablets.PCBKA7.html
I've just ordered one. I'll let you all know how my experience goes.
Sent from my A7+
I got it and it fits snugly. It's held in by a flap of material you tuck over the top. But the fit is so tight that it'll hold. Because the A7 and A7+ are basically the same, none of the ports are obstructed. The cover has two kinds of stands to prop it up at different angles, there are no pockets but you can tuck small things under the stands when you're not using them. The button clasp that holds the case closed acually came off one side when i first unbuttoned it, I pressed it into position hard and it hasn't come apart again. But when it's in the open position and buttoned the cover can move around a bit, so using the stand is a bit tricky. Overall, it's definitely worth the $11 for keeping it protected, not so much for the functionality. the material around the screen is a bit close to the screen, making access to the top and bottom edge tricky. i just make the status bar open with a vertical swipe on the home screen in the settings so i don't have to actually click on the bar itself. the off screen buttons are still accessible even if the material is too close.
I just received my Bunker Ring from 'The Hi Shop' last week and I'm loving it so far. As someone with very small hands and a massive phone, I find myself dropping and having a very hard time of gripping the phone. This solves that problem. Although the ring is too big for my finger, it still works very well in providing excellent grip. I also looked into the FlyGrip but the price-point really pushed me away. $30 plus ~$14 shipping plus very likely brokerage fees with FedEx put me off. That being said, here are some of the features of the ring:
- 360 degree rotation in the ring (allows for a large variety of viewing positions for landscape and portrait)
- Kick stand (both landscape and portrait) in which viewing angles can be adjusted
- Reusable/easily removable adhesive (it's micro suction, you can wash it with water and it'll be as good as new; doesn't leave residue)
- Price (at only $20 plus $3 shipping, it's much cheaper than the FlyGrip)
Here's the link to where i bought it:
http://www.thehishop.com/ths-bunker...-permanent-adhesive-360-degree-rotatable.html
Hope this review was helpful!
Dimensions of the rectangular piece? Also what is the thickness of the entire assembly when snapped down?
Sent from galaxy note 2, tablet in my pocket! ^_^

What case is that? Underneath the ring I mean.

I also have the bunker ring but I only paid 6.37 for it. it's here on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/251147580077?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 It ships from China, but I received it in 11 days. Here it is on Amazon for $5.98 with shipping, http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Bunker-Holder-Iphone-Galaxy/dp/B009T11WYO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359302268&sr=8-1&keywords=bunker+ring
You can definitely see the difference in quality between original and ebay one, just by looking at it. But I'm sure ebay one will work the same way. Oh, I just wish they would come up with some universal clamp so you don't have to stick it to the case and use it with any case.
I had the OEM bunker ring. Very nice. I liked it a lot on my Note 1. However, after using it for about 6-12 months, it started flipping in the opposite direction. Over time, it got very loose and would no longer function as a portrait stand.
Recently I purchased the cheaper ebay version. It's very hard to twist to make it 90 degrees so you can put your finger in it. I have to use two hands whereas with the original, I could do it with one hand. At the same time, the good thing about the ebay version is that because it's stiff, it'll also less likely move in the wrong direction (picture the ring flat but in the wrong direction). Also, the hinge on the ebay version is completely plastic. This means it'll likely give and wear down over time...but then again, it only cost me 6 bucks vs 20.
In the end, I'd prefer the OEM version, if only they could improve the hinge. But in it's current state, I had to remove it. I'm using the ebay one now.
