THIS POST IS VERY LONG, THERE ARE 4 FULL BENCHMARK RESULTS HERE
Hello Nexus 7 users of XDA!
I have spent the last 2 days looking for good benchmark tests for this powerful device, I have found 4 that really seem to test the device.
Most of these benchmarks are measured in FPS, if you do not know about FPS very well the second post will explain.
Here are the benchmarks.
GLBenchmark 2.5

If you want me to do anymore benchmarks I will be glad to. Just tell me the name of the benchmark app, I will download it and add the results to this post.
Thanks!
Okay, this post is for if you do not know the meaning of FPS. (Frames Per Second.)
By Wikipedia FPS is, the frequency (rate) at which an imaging device produces unique consecutive images called frames.
I have made a little demonstration using Cinema 4D to show Frames Per Second.
Here is 60 FPS, very smooth. (This was the highest FPS I had gotten on the BenchMark tests.)
Here is 30 FPS, looks as smooth as 60 FPS to the human eye, but is less smooth.
Here is 15 FPS, it is still smooth enough to play a game, but has a definite jumpiness to it.
Here is 8 FPS, this is the lowest FPS I got on my BenchMark tests, and you can tell that there is quite a bit of jumpiness to this and it would be quite annoying to play a game like this.

Woops, my mistake, thats the wrong picture. Let me switch that real quick.
Fixed.
How far have you guys pushed yours? Mine's at 1.5 and going fine, don't want to go any higher because battery life suffers.

Tomorrow I will be making a video of the Nexus 7 getting bench marked. Please list some bench marking apps that I should use. So far I had 5 that will be in the video, but I want to have as many as possible for the best addition to this thread.

I put mine to 1.6 with the performance governor, and my battery life didn't suffer to bad, but I also didn't notice too much of an improvement.

I'm quite interested on quadrant score of any android device.
to get quadrant score, go market and download quadrant standard.
Please post yous score right here and state down your clock speed and whether your device is with custom rom and overclock.
This is my result.
Nexus s, cm7.
3500 @ 1ghz.
4000 @ 1.3ghz
Thanks!

Meh, you can make a quadrant do what you want. They are meaningless.
Firmware with a lower index in the Quadrant is often a reality faster. I long ago ceased to enjoy this program.
The highest scores are MİUİ series phones. I think.
Quadrant isn't fun anymore. I could post my score, but that would be a lie, since it takes a little or no effort to manipulate the result
HTC Incredible
MIUI 1.6.24
Kernel: Chad's 2.38.8 6-19
Kernel Frequency: 128 - 998
Governor: smartass
Quadrant 1: 1235
Quadrant 2: 1396
Quadrant 3: 1453
Fiiiiine. Here's my results without cheating:
Desire HD - MIUI 1.6.24 - Stock kernel @ 1,5GHz
- Score 1: 3220
- Score 2: 3330

Not in the one i'm using (MIUI.us), but i think some other MIUI builds have it.
Gah... I use quadrant to help my colleague pick lotto numbers. We won £5, and will now buy 5 more tickets, using *ahem* benchmark scores... oh wait, I mean pseudo random numbers
For what it's worth.
My INC gets 1500s.
My NC gets anywhere from 2500-3100s.

My second c++ program was a random number generator. Quadrant is the most successful rannumgen. Hats off. Hahaha.
The app is called LGcamera
and here are some screenshots
NOTE: Don't go above 20mbps! Because the app will stop working. If LGcamera not opening, u need to reboot ur device.

Thanks for the tip! If you could post sample videos (if possible similar videos) of both bitrates, that would be great.
Wait, I didn't notice the 60fps. So it can actually record 1080p videos at 20Mbps and 60fps?

Google is sending me another Nexus 4 because the one i'm using has some problem with the lens (grey circle aka dead spot).
When I get the other Nexus 4, I will try to do 12mbps vs 20mbps video.
It works very well. ty
You don't need to use another app to achieve the same. You can edit the media_profiles.xml file in the /system/etc folder.
Here are some pics:-
hey there, thanks, very helpful indeed. since i'm still waiting for my nex4, i was anyway hoping lgcamcorder would be capable of doing this. plus you can do some more tweaks compared to the stock camera. did anyone try to also increase audio quality in lgcam? i know this app happens to be quite unstable, both with "wrong" settings and the "wrong" device, in other words: you have to be lucky it works the way you want to?
does it work in 720p 60fps?
Cool app. Nice find.

I can confirm 60fps doesn't work in ANY recording mode or resolution. I tried them all using the Lgcamera, which by the way, is much much much much MUCH better than the stock camera app for photos. I haven't done any side by side video bitrate comparisons but the photos and specifically the focus is so much better with the lgcamera. The photos are much less compressed and there is so much more detail in everything compared to the blurry crap from the stock camera.
Try it out and validate my results please! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.lgCamera&hl=en

Easy: find a kernel that will work with your P970 and flash it to your phone. Then overclock your phone. You should get 5000.
Official record from xda forum for P970 is 4109
Hellmanor record, he overlock graphic card and procesor to maxiumum, So what I can tell you it is not so easy.
4.1.2, its CM10 i guess.
Maybe disable all apps and run only Antutu. lol

Yes. It is easy. You overclock it and if that does not yeild enough performance you can edit your build.prop file.
Why do ask for help just to end up telling me you know how to do it?
Do what you like. I'm not able to help you any more.

So this means the record is not real performance of Optimus Black. This record is a Fake
For the nexus 4, It's proved that benchmark scores are more when the phone is kept in a freezer....maybe the same case here, but such a large difference isn't possible...
Is there kernel which overclocks to 1100mhz in cm10.1?
If it doesn't, it is fake
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
Yes it is Zero Gravity Kernel.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082740
Score is from official Antutu ranking list. So score is real one but the way to get that performance is kind of cheat. Or tricky way of combine performance from strong accord kernel and zero gravity.
I can submit any score, there is a way...I hope its real. I also looking for stable oc kernel for cm10.1..
Highest I ever got was 4100.5031 is just horse****.Unless someone managed to over clock like crazy

Stock rom my note 4 scored 25417 in antutu. Thought wtf and tried testing again with the custom Skyfall rom, almost the exact same results.
Is my note 4 messed up? Should I do a device exchange?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Are you letting your phone cool down before benching? Putting it in the freezer? (Real questions) I personally won't return a phone because of low benchmark that means nothing in the real world other than to show off. P.S.my first bench was in the 30ks

Heres the thing . You shouldnt rely on that benchmark score at all especially on custom ROMs . I have had Roms that performed amazing in everyway and tested poorly on benchmark . There are a lot of factors that decide your score and in some ways scores can be cheated . Others on XDA can explain better than I can but you need to try other ROMS and also try when your phone isnt hot as He$$

Also did you run benchmarks when you are on Stock only ? To compare?
Mines is 46512. Stock Rom, Rooted.
Maybe it's a running app that causing the low score.
Do you notice any lag? Gaming lag?
Mine was low too until I turned off power saving mode

2014 is a great year for mobile device industry. Numerous flagships of big brands and also some black horses run into the best choice list. To help you make the right call, AnTuTu picked the top 10 smarthphones for you, according the testing items (CPU, GPU, UX, ROM and etc.) of AnTuTu benchmark V5.0 and above. This ranking report is based on device testing data submitted by AnTuTu benchmark users, covering more than 160 countries.
Meizu, Nexus 6 and Samsung Alpha got top 3.
Half of top 10 are from China manufacturers.

top 10 in 2013 VS 2014
Why note 4 in 4th
And why it score only 44669
exynos 7 better than this
Shame in real life the Note 4 (Snapdragon version) is a lot slower than the benchmarks would suggest.
Sluggish OS performance and sluggish game performance put's it well below it's place in the benchmarks in my book.
HTC One M8 at the very least frankly shows it up when it comes to speed and fluidity.
A rom, debloat and tweaks makes model f a bit more smooth. But it's sad that you have to. Old N5 or M7-8 is another league, so it's down to TouchWiz. For some this a deal breaker and for some not. I hope that A5 will change this a bit.
You never know

That's scary! Did you put it in the freezer just long enough for it to reach 0C and then get the phone out to do the test....
My Exynos was always at 49k, now after the ultimate kernel and 1080p resolution it gets 52k every time. 45k? That must be SnapD.
