One of our fellow Android enthusiasts has created a Lego Android Bot. He has submitted the project to Lego so it can be put into production, however he needs 10,000 people to go onto facebook and twitter and vote for his creation. It's super cool and super simple to support. Just wanted to pass this info along. Here is a link to the story which contains the link to the voting page.

I am a lego fan and also an android fan. I supported.
Wow looks really cool,If it will be availble to sell i will totally get one of these!
I always stepped on Lego's.. and this one time, there's kid choked with lego, and I need to get it out, it was horrible...
so my conclusion is... voted.. even though I can't find the voting button.
I am interested to this project. I will support it. just question, what is LEGO? I am definitely an Android lover..

The time. And dedication. Put into that little Andy. I can only imagine. *,*
So totally supported this. It would be lovely to be able to get my own little kit.. Is the blueprint available, or a part list, as far as if nothing ends up coming out of this?
Got my vote!

Ok first of all, this post has nothing at all to do with Android except for the fact that I used to be a developer for the HTC Eris and am now a themer for our LG Revolutions.
Here's how I need your help. All I need is for my fans here at XDA, to support a very good friend of mine from back home. I can't believe I never thought of asking this before but here goes the backstory.
One of my very good friends from back home, Ryan Andreas, tried out for America's Got Talent. He flew past the first round but for some reason the judges never gave him a second thought. This guy is a phenominal singer! I'm not just saying that because he is my friend. I'm saying it because I believe it. All I need you guys to do is to watch his performance (and his other home made videos if you want) and judge for yourself. If you feel he is worthy of your support, then please buy his album when it comes out! Even if you don't buy his album, then please at least stop by his website and give him some words of encouragement. Here's the video, thanks guys!

Quick question. I used to be over at the eris forums myself and I was wondering what ROM was it that you were working on. I miss that little eris that could.
I had a Froyo build and a Gingerbread build but they didn't get much recognition since Tazz and Shed came out with their builds way before mine. My Froyo build was called FroHicks and my GB build was called TastyBread.
That's so crazy! He was actually one of my favorites! I couldn't believe it when he didn't make it through!

Yeah we were too, I was in the audience rooting him on for his first performance and so mad when he told us they wasn't sending him through to the next round. So I figured I would try to do my best to get his name out there. He should be coming out with a cd pretty soon hopefully!
And I know exactly how you feel, I love Americas Got Talent!

Sometimes I think this crowd-source thing gets a bit out of hand.
So dude makes a Lego Droid. Whoopie. OH NO! IT COSTS A WHOLE $30! Heavens forfend! Call in the National Guard! WE MUST BRING DOWN THE COST!
>.<
Now, tell me again Why should I give a rat's patootie whether he makes a kit out of it or not. So, he can...what? Sell it for $25 and THEREBY SAVING ME A WHOLE FIVE DINERO?!
Yes, I'm having my curmudgeon attack. Somebody hand me the Pepto.
OK, like totally Sirius...so is this Lego fetish like a geek cred thing or something? Coz I guess I'm sorta a geek, but nobody sent me the memo. MUST MAKE LEGO BLOBS AND POST IT ON YOUR FB! Got it!
Oh wait a sec...I dun got no FB either...

I would like to do a time frame. Where we could talk about our years here. Lets see who is the oldest and what we have gave to this forums.
Personally Ive been here since 2004-05. And basically since its started when it was hard to read the texts on my razor and this was basically Htc only.
This site has been great for me and sometimes missed the simplicity of the starting years. And I believe this forums are the true shapers on the mobile era.
Please post youre time. and a story
I have a few but ill start with loosing my first account. Dont even know how it was called!

And another reason I would like to make a timeframe so please talk about youre device history and how its been youre experience in each thread.

I got my first android in September of last year, within a month I was on xda, and by November, I had an account cause I thought I knew enough to help some folks. I do enjoy the community, even though leeches are always making devs angry (IMO, both their faults). I haven't been around as long as OP, but I know my way around the Nexus S, and android itself!

Next time I catch you posting a ridiculously unnecessary "IB4L" post I'm going to ban you. There are more pointless posts from you around here than there are pointless threads, and that's quite an achievement.

well guys tell me, how was xda when you started and how is it now.
How It modified for better or worst?
For me it has been awesome. Ive been impressed since the beggining till mow. How guys seen to know more about devices than now.
when I started the threads were a little difficult to understand. and everything was in one main page. where you could find rhe .cab files. but you had to keep scrolling down to find what you were looking. Now its all organized and eye candy.
keep it going Lets make this thread an archive!

Bro please stop that before you get banned! youre affecting the course of this thread. Im investigating abut how old is this thread and how long its been effective on the people. I think a great part that since 2003i the % of people buying smartphones has grown from a 20% to 90% has to in great part to forums like this. specially this one. people started to know about hacks and how they affect they to bennefit the costumer rather that the company.
Xda has been the pioneer when people started to know about roots and other methods of hacking the os of their devices. making them better. and having features locked by carriers. Xda has been there to keep this idea forward. and I want people to start talking about xda's evolution. and the we could take this info and make it a news letter for people to continue the tradition which we started years ago!

I for one part started to love this place when I had my Razor. I started to know about firmwares and hack. and every time I searched the web I ended here. there werent the hacks I needed then. That led me to my first account. but it was good to know this was there. and to read about people doing amazing stuff.
This led me to buy my first pocketpc-smartphone. a Treo 750 which I bought from second use and I still have it running a custom wm 6.5 rom with titanium.
Then I bought an Lg incite (wm) which kept me here but most of my time on lg-incite.com
the site grew and my fasination for htc too. not to be surpriced as most of the hacks where make for this devices.... check the history of the first diamond with manila. ( what we call now Sense)
So it led me to buy a Diamond 2
this was another revolution. I was a moderator on the htc-pure forums. but kept my profile here. and was as always morw and more in love with this site as I continued to know that the hacks came from here.
Now on the Dhd I had a bittersweet relation. many forum memebers dont like to keep tradition. But this continues to grow fast. Proof of this is the compact view.
We shall continue making history!

I have been here on xda since 11th of june 2012 thats not even six months. But this place has taught me how to do awesoome stuff with my low end phones (galaxy 5 and galaxy y ) but also taught me many more things, things which no school teaches.
I have learnt to be polite when I am angry, i have learnt to appreciate ones efforts. I have learnt to respect ones work.

Thats great. Now I see many people with budget phones. which proofs what xda stands for..... everyone should have equal oportunity to have the best phone they can.
Hacks make devices live longer and us spent less money on smartphones. But we still love them!

I've known about xda since I've had a G1 in early 2009. I didn't join until I got Sparky a MyTouch 3G (3.5mm jack) in June 2010. I'm a relative newcomer compared to some....I really put what I learned here to good use when I got my Nexus One in late June 2010....and I've had tons of phones since and I learnt more with each one.

Yes its been a great experience!
That's the purpose I want to share how we've come from all over the world. And reshaped business. We've made companies think a bit more about their costumers, although we still need to keep this going proving them wrong in every corner. Like for example Desire Hd and ics!

Yeah man HTC were totally wrong about ICS and Sense. Forget ICS and Sense 3.6 (sorry Team Blackout and Pacha Nero) we have ICS and Sense 4.1 thanks to torxx!
And I agree we've made companies think twice about their products

Hey guys, I was just on the meet and greet sticky, and I thought, "Huh. I wonder how some of these people got their user names?"
If you would like to, go ahead and post your reasons for/situations that led to/way of coming up with your pseudonym!
I'll go first.
So, I'm 17, and on that matter I'm a senior in high school.
We all know teenagers. They like to make fun. So, one day in gym last year, some girls got my original nickname, "Laizure", and, for reasons unknown, added "Boy" to the end.
This spread like wildfire. Within ONE day, the ENTIRE school, including the teachers, the principal, and god forbid, the janitor, ALL CALLED ME LAIZUREBOY.
At first, I was embarrased. Honestly, why make a nickname like that?
Then, I realized that it was a unique nickname. Nobody would guess it was my last name if used online, so it was perfect.
Now, people unwittingly scream my last name in frustration when I own them on Call of Duty, Quake, and Battlefield.
Sorry for the life story, but being a small forum community, it can't hurt, can it?
Xda a small community? Are you out of your mind? :')

This website is awesome for interstate trading (all legal, everything goes to an FFL, unless you have a C&R license)
if you guys could give that link a look and the site too for a proper website hit. I'd appreciate it! :highfive:
I'm a second amendment supporter myself, but this maybe against the rules, despite being legal.
