Hello guys,
I recently bought a new Samsung Galaxy Mini and I'm trying to acces the "Recovery menu" by pressing Volume + and Power. The phone turns on and shows this.... (Made my own video)

For galaxy mini cwm press home and power to access.
Press thanks if I helped.

I think the volume + and power will be a normal boot
but volume+ and power and home will take you to ram dump mode

are you sure that is not a GT-S5830i? (Samsung Galaxy Ace M) can you give more details
Switch off ur ACE. While restarting it press the powerbutton + the home button(@center) . While doing so you will see a small triangle on the upper left of your screen. Then select install zip from sd card. Select the zip file attached. RESTART ! thats it.
NOTE: WORKS FOR GALAXY ACE S5830i
This is how you do it: Press home key then simultaneously press power and volume up keys. When the Samsung galaxy logo appears, release the power and volume up keys but keep the home key pressed. Safe mode should come on shortly.
WTF, THAT IS THE RECOVERY MENU !!!!!!!!!!!

To enter into safe mode you need to press and hold the left soft key while booting your phone.

What is safe mode exactly?

Safe mode for Android just basically boots your phone to a state where third party applications are disabled.

Good day to all of you, please help me with my friend's Galaxy S. It is not rooted, the phone is used normally(100% stock rom froyo) when suddenly it started resetting contacts on its own, then after few months the phone doesn't turn on, it plays the boot animation then screen becomes black but when you press the keys the backlight of those keys turn on. similar problem to this I searched for 3days now on how to fix but I'm having a hard time.
Sorry for my bad english, this is my first thread so I am noob. Replies are more than welcome

You can try a wipe data in recovery, if it works (power button +volume up + home when the phone is off)
Okay do what the guy above said,
1. Get into Recovery Mode(Volume up + Power Button)
2. Wipe data and cache
Please reply if anything happens.

Tried it, Successful wipe but still the same, ends up on blackscreen, holding power button restarts in then it displays samsung galaxy s then animation then blackscreen again, i pulled my battery because leaving it just causes the battery to generate heat

Hey guy's just found out how to get recovery mode on my phone. Download ROM TOOLBOX PRO, then go rom management, then press reboot recovery button, it will install it for you. You must have Root though. Please let me know if it works on on your phones.

Hi, I have a query.
My friend's volume buttons do not work. Is there any other way to root without recovery or a touch recovery?
Thanks.

Hi iDelta, if your friend's phone is an S5830 (without more letters or S5830D/B/L/T) the way to the recovery is of just two buttons [Home(center bottom) +Power(left side up)] at the same time . So, you won't need the volume button.
Edited: As the volume key is needed for navigate the menus, I recommend PX recovery
If not, you're in the wrong section. Good luck.

Sorry, iDelta, you're totally right.
My apologies.

Edited : you could try PX recovery , I haven't used it yet, but it works, seemingly.

Try px recovery. It has soft buttons on screen to navigate in recovery menu but it supports only Rom with ext4 format.

Hi iDelta.
I'm not sure. Perhaps, via adb?
Or using aroma installer?
Cheers.

I went to see the threadx which says it needs to be flashed via recovery. Now, I find no point in flashing a recovery that requires the stock recovery to be flashed and your volume buttons don't work... anyway, I have already given my friend the red flag for rooting. Thanks for your help anyway.

@op : You are optionless now. You can't use volume buttons to flash a custom recovery via the stock one. There's a way to flash cwm via odin but again you won't be able to use it later on because it again needs the damn volume buttons. And on the other hand, no one has devised a way to flash px recovery via odin. You have two options left. Either be on stock or get your phone fixed.
