You disabled almost everything...
My question is, now that we have root access, how to modify the SO?...
I tried to delete some files with "Root Explorer" but the files permissions didn't allowed me...
Any "place" where we can learn something more about Android, cause I start to deal with that one month ago, and I'm not a geek too...
Thx and sorry for the bad english

1. Also freeze on screen phone.
2. Get DroidWall from play store (free) and block Gallery on both wifi and 3g
3. Get any cpu control app like SetCpu and set screen off to interactive 51-450 and rest everything to ondemand at 51-1200
You should see good improvement in battery. At least i did.
My only concern right now is video on semi lit room is really really dark. Let me know if you have any suggestions for that

[APP] Touchwiz Calculator [03/02/2011]

Touchwiz calculator taken from the leaked GalaxyS 2.3.2 ROM.
I changed the icon to our aosp icon because I hate the touchwiz icon, but love the calculator.
You need to install this either via clockwork mod, or adb push (if you extract the .apk)

The calc is great. Any way of making this so that it doesn't have to by adb pushed or cw flashed? This is because it takes over the original in-built system calculator correct?
Where did you download the leak? (Galaxy S 2.3)
Can i get a link?

Memory problem

Why does my note always have 600 MB full RAM??
How can I reduce this?
Am I the only one a with this problem?
No matter how many times I kill the apps, they still openup and eat the memory :-(
Please help
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
As such there is nothing to do, this is normal. because there is a lot app which starts autometically, so if you kill, it again starts n remains in background, these are the common application which we are using.
still you can reduce it by Autostarts, you can decide here which application to start, there may be many applications which you may not be using, you can disable it. I have disable, gmail, Hub, few more. Now my RAM remains betwin 480-500 MB.
The reason could also be bad apps. Some apps aren't properly optimized or use a lot of ram for nothing.
Use your task manager ro see which apps are taking so much ram.
Once you've done this I recommend you remove them apps and use alternative ones.
How I look at it is having good apps that are low on memory...
I have tons of apps on my Note and I'm only using 400 out of 800mb ram...
Hummm...curious on how to go about it.

[SOLVED] Ads on Notification Bar

(Sorry if this is posted before but I tried my best searching for a similar problem but I didn't found one :/ )
Every once in awhile I'm getting Chinese ad on my notification bar and I don't know which app or game it does it. Is there a way to remove it? I'll add a screen shot as soon as I get it again.
I already deleted the app that has air push but it still shows up

[Q] .thumbnails folder in DCIM

The thumbnails folder under DCIM consumes a lot of memory, why is it so big? Also is there a way from preventing it to be generated? Thanks.

3.99GB WTF have you got on your phone? I don't believe you can stop it generating thumbnails - I wouldn't want to as it would mean that ... you would have no thumbnails in any of your apps where you want to see what your graphics are etc.
Mine is 224MB and I have a LOT of pictures/photos on my 4X, so I really don't know how yours has got so big. Simply delete all the files in there and let it self-populate again. If it gets that big then check the files out, see how many there are and why so big - your stats there indicate the the average file is 40MB in size - which is quite clearly NOT a thumbnail.
Yeah, actually the "actual" thumbnail is small in size, but there are two files that made it reach up 4GB... I already deleted it though. I don't know if I can reproduce that again. We'll see...
Edit:
Ok it actually generated again. This time it's smaller and it's only one file. This is what's inside the .thumbnails folder
Edit2:
This time it appeared again.. The two files...
I also have this big files:
And i 6gb in .thumbnails -_____-
Any idea to move it to external sd?

As stated above, the folder is normally hidden. This is done by making the first character of the name a '.' (fullstop) as Linux uses for hidden files. You need to be running a file explorer such as Solid Explorer or ES which allows you to make 'hidden' files visible.

And how do you think I check that?
Edited:
You're right @SimonTS, last time I flash I didn't tick the "hidden files" on the explorer...
Now I can see the folder, the biggest have 26.96MB (.thumbdata3-xxxxxxxx) the other (.thumbdata3-yyyyyyyyyyyy) have only 374KB.
Hummmm... don't like that...
Problem now is how do we get rid of it...
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
To get rid of it is easy, just delete it. But when we open any media folder, the system creates it again. It's like a ghost for the thumbnails, I guess...

hi,
i had something similar,
For me it was either Hi Locker lockscreen or/ Omni Swipe alternatively Locker Master apps..( same app developers) . If you select speed, it should clear Ram etc.
I switch option off in the app, but again top right corner 3 dot, i also had to switch it off, again. Every now and then it might appear.
(To me, it's a type of "spam" service)
Good luck
