Hi.
Today I looked at the cache partition and I found that it is unnecessarily large. Can be reduced at least 30 MB? Dalvik cache is in the /data partition. Thus we should be more MB of data partition

In CM7, the dalvik-cache for System apps was in cache partition. Dunno why they didn't do the same in CM9
I think there was an option for cache partition in Mur4ik's bootloader tool. Check it

any idea guys?
I have the same question since i tried CM9... Dalvik-cache should be in /cache and is on /data -> so: install a few apps and /data partition will be full :/
Muri4k bootloader don't allow to set cache partition size.
Wouldn't it be possible to somehow symlink or mount the current dalvik-cache location to the cache partition, like the way a2sd scripts do with /data and /sd-ext.
So something like `ln /cache/dalvik /data/dalvik-cache`, would that work?

I've a 4GB memory card and I've partition the second partition to 239MB but I've only got 8.06MB left which I'll need more, how do I make the second partition bigger? Do I've to format my memory card and do all the things again?

MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition is a useful tool for managing and creating partitions via PC. Here is a really good guide.
If you still have a question just ask; the only important thing you have to pay attention is choosing the partition as primary
Also, cwm recovery can be used to backup your SD partition.

Similar Senario
Hi, I'm in a similar situation to Conclusion with, a 4GB and similar size partition. However I don't want to make the second partition bigger just yet, but I do wanna maintain it and keep everything ticking over nicely. What puzzles me is that I only have 1% System left unlike Conclusion. I can't remember my setup like a douche and wondered if anyone knows why it's so low and how I can change this?
Will resizing my second partition format my sdcard?

Guyes, when i am going to application manager it is showing memory used by installed application is 1.5 GB and free 0.5 GB.

But when i am going to storage menu option it is showing used by apps 1.49 GB but free is only 0.2 GB. Where Is remaining memory?
But when i query the same from third party application i.e. system info it is showing used 1.77 GB and free 0.2 GB.
But the most worst part is though 202 MB is free i am unable to install any application. Showing error not enough space. Is it reserved for cache or internal storage is corrupted? Is it normal? Or something wrong with my device. My device is unrooted and running stock ics, never wipe or reset. Please help.

Have you tried clearing cache ? It helps sometimes with lost memory. Boot into recovery ( VolUP+Home+Power ) and select "Clear Cache" option, that should do it.
I have the same exact problem. Did hiding cache help? Or there's other alternative?

Anyway, since instructions for flashing ROMs isn't pasted in a dozen different places like it is on most other subforums, I'll throw you a bone. Yes, you should probably do a data wipe or factory reset (in addition to wiping cache and dalvik if those don't get wiped during one of the previous wipes). In theory, the wiping can be done by the zip you're flashing, but it's not always the case so just do it yourself to be safe. Also, having just done one, I can tell you a factory reset (in CWM 6.0.0.8 at least) doesn't wipe your sdcard.

It is recommended to also format /system
I'm facing a problem with my storage space. Using the app "Disk Usage" I've found the following:

This enormous amount of memory used for "system data" isn't explicable. And I'm not been able to find a folder with a content to delete (of course I do have root access)
My first attempt was to delete a TWRP backup, whit actually worked, in part, since the original size of this partition was more than 14gb!
But I'm not finding the origins of the rest.
Somebody have already experienced it?
What could be the solution?
Same here. I don't know what is system data, I suspect some hidden files/folders, ex. thumbnails for gallery.
What size phone do you have? My 16gb has 5.8gb of system data, only 10.2gb available.

We're talking about sdcard storage as you can see in screenshot above.
Oops
I'm thinking that it maybe related with this:
I'm having a similar issue, except my system data is showing 16728MB, more than double the OP. I never had any storage issue before the latest 5.1 update so I thought maybe it was some temp files from the update so I cleared the /cache partition but that didn't help at all. Anyone else seeing excessively large system size?
