Hello there,
I was just wondering if there are any different color body's for the mozart. Not as in cases but the actual metal and plactic'y parts, to change the colour of the entire phone. I have searched google to no avail, and am nearly thinking of looking into doing the job myself (but we'll keep that for later).
Not that theres anything wrong with the color as it is, but I myself would prefer the optoin to change to a more vibrant color, such that can be done with the iPhone.

has anyone here seen the google uk logo? the one that is composed of multicolored balls that can be disturbed or agitated by the mouse.
google.co.uk
it could be a nice live wallpaper.
-multicolored balls filling up a black screen or a color customizable background
-balls wiggles in place
-can be agitated by touch
-optional:
colors of balls that will appear can be customized
interval for color changing can be adjusted
Saw that earlier awesome isn't it
it would make good a live wallpaper...
and to clear things up it's not only on google UK.
+1 to this. Imagine even if it was simply the word "Google" as we're using Android phones I think that would be quite fitting.

hoping someone could do this.
The Google logo is back to normal now, I think I could take a stab at this as I am learning Java and my demo paper (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=133197) is relatively similar. Anyone know where to see the Google logo again, I never saw it the other day when it was out, just heard about it.
Just did some thinking and did a proof of concept for myself, made a single dot that reacts to touch... should be easy to make lots of dots do the same and do other things.
here's one from youtube.

Hi at all,
is there any possibility to change the colours of the calendar app, the s planner? I find it soooo ugly, I cannot stand it. I love it simple in black, but what Samsung offers there must be a bad joke. I even find it that ugly, that I would return it for that reason.
So hopefully theres a trick to change the colors!?

Somewhere on the Internet someone wrote that it would be possible to change the colours of the s planner app by decompiling it.
Anyone any idea how to do that?
Nobody found a way to make it back to black color as the one from ICS ? :crying:

Hi. I've just replaced my cracked amoled screen with another samsung's original amoled screen, but i have a problem with colors, it seems like weak color. like when you have a computer with low resolution. the gradient of the colors looks ugly.
somebody had this problem or anybody knows how could I repair it?
Thanks.
Maybe a calibration problem so I suggest flashing a ROM/kennel combo that you like with Voodoo colour support them you can tweak away all the colour/gamma etc settings to sort it

You could try this, but I think the new screen isn't 100% ok. I got my screen replaced and the colors were as before. This new screen had a defective button so I got a second new one. This one also did not need any calibration.
hi, thanks for reply.
i'm thinking the screen is faulty too, because i don't think the screen needs calibration.
when i enter recovery menu the colors seem wrong too, so it's not a rom problem because in recovery mode the rom haven't been loaded yet
Update: FauxDisplay (and the spreadsheet) have been updated with new names for the gray scales and gradients. Also, the gradient columns come before the the gray scale columns now so don't get mixed up when inputting values! And when submitting values please go ahead and start putting the gradients first so it's easier to read
Hi everyone! I've read that many people have said that they are experiencing a yellow / blue tint on their screens when viewing at certain angles and are attempting to tweak their color settings to improve it. Or you could just be trying to make your screen look sexier in general, what do I know?
Now back in the Galaxy Nexus forums we had a publicly accessible spreadsheet just for different color settings and I thought that we could do the same here. As more kernels come out we will most likely be seeing different color variations with each one so here is where everyone can share their own personal color settings for all to try! :good:
Also, if you see the bolded line (besides the ones from the devs), those are the settings that I personally use and recommend
Now the spreadsheet is split up into 3 sheets. Sheet 1 is Gamma, Sheet 2 is Gradient / Gray, and Sheet 3 is Basic. A quick explanation:
Gamma - Franco's introduced gamma settings
Gradient / Gray - Faux's introduced settings (gradients and gray scales)
Basic - basic RGB values along w/ amp 0 and amp 1
This will keep the spreadsheet looking more organized instead of having everything crammed into one sheet, enjoy!
I'm looking forward to seeing (and trying!) all the different display configurations from everybody! :highfive:
So everyone please feel free to share your colors here :cyclops:

I've just read about people trying to fix their tint issues and it's alleviating it for some. But like I said, it's not just about fixing issues really. Everyone has different color preferences in general too.
Added couple values.
Of course we have childish people messing up the spreadsheet (again) so I will be making backups often, thanks for everyone who have input values.
Added some values as well.
I think you really have to experiment for your self as every screen will be different. I used an app called Display Tester for patterns. The best i could get the blue was 1.6 for gamma. I set red and green to 1.8 which put rest around the 2.2 goal. I'm still playing with color levels though.

No matter what I do max I can get for blue is 1.8. Settled with that and r2.2,g2.2.

I noticed a lot of people adding to the list are not reading and mixing up the columns under Gamma Blue and Gamma Green (as fauxclock is Gamma Green -> Gamma Blue)
I'm tempted to fix it. There's no way Gamma Green can be 31 and Gamma Blue <10 without it looking like a hot mess.

Oh wow I mixed up the order on that one, huh? Thanks for catching that, I will fix it now. I've switched the columns now but I'm not sure if people really got confused or not. I set my B up to 31 and G to 9 and it wasn't a mess on my screen. Just a slight green tint, hm....
Attention: Everyone make sure your values are in the right order as I mixed up the gamma order and did RBG instead of RGB. I have corrected it now, sorry for the mix up.
You're going to have to restore the spreadsheet. Some fool from University of Newcastle messed with it (?). I guess that's what happens when it's public...

Everything looks in order to me, what exactly happened? And I try to do frequent back ups so restoring it shouldn't be a problem most of the time. But if it does get to the point where it's so bad with people coming in and messing with it I will create one just for viewing and then open a separate for public add ons. That way I can add it to the viewable as I please. Or people can just post their settings here and I will add it. We had the same problem in the Galaxy Nexus forums
You can add an application form and read-only the spreadsheet. :good:
Hi all,
I'm coming from and SGSII and I'm in the process of trying to setup my One how I like it. There's a few things troubling me though.
-The blacks of the screen don't seem especially black and it seems there's no way to adjust the contrast. The whole screen seems a bit flat/grey
-The menus are black text on white, I much prefer the white on black of the SII
-The scroll 'brakes' too quickly as your finger comes off the screen, it's like sliding something on sandpaper as opposed to ice. There's no 'mega scroll' flick
-I've had to download a task manager killer but I cannot end google+, gmail and googlemaps. I don't want them.
-The icons on my SII are a lot better
-I'd like the notification bar to be black
-On the SII I have gps switched off but weather apps still work, with the HTC gps has to be on.
-I'm going to have to root this phone to get adfree aren't?
I'm using nova launcher so a lot of things are similar but those things above are really bugging me. I've googled all of them and had no luck so let me know if I'm missing anything.
Thanks.
I didn't read your whole post but to get white text on black you are going to have to go with an inverted Rom, like d3rp or 42One I am sure there are others but those two come to mind.

Thanks, I might hold off on rooting for a while.
The main thing I wanted to check was that I wasn't missing an obvious settings and that the screen was working properly, it's VERY flat and grey compared to my SII.
Overall it's doing a good job but the screen is going to have to take some getting used to.

This is the difference between AMOLED and LCD. The contrast on the One is pretty much the best available on a phone LCD, but it is still an LCD, and cannot match the black levels of AMOLED.
-The menus are black text on white, I much prefer the white on black of the SII
The menus on the SII are white on black because white is a very expensive color to display, battery-wise, on an AMOLED screen. Inverted roms, or themes, will fix this for you.
-The scroll 'brakes' too quickly as your finger comes off the screen, it's like sliding something on sandpaper as opposed to ice. There's no 'mega scroll' flick
Depends on the app you're using. If you're speaking about within Sense (settings, app drawer, etc) then yeah I guess, but I'm not sure why you would need the long scrolling in such short lists.
-I've had to download a task manager killer but I cannot end google+, gmail and googlemaps. I don't want them.
Uninstall/disable them via settings>apps or kill them with an app.

Thanks for taking the time, much appreciated. Much as I feared the about the screen. It's a shame, I do really like OLED. Those are the two big things now, the screen and lack of centre button. It's stupid because most apps now have a black bar at the bottom which takes up about 10% of the screen for the 'options' button. A button would be much better. If it had those two things it would be the perfect phone in my eyes.
Makes sense about the menus, I checked out the 42One rom and it looks pretty good. I spent yesterday getting everything set up so I'm going to wait to root and flash.
The scroll/flick behaviour is a bit different but some lists do have a 'mega-scroll' so that was me I guess, I'd still prefer it if it was a bit looser.
I found the only option was to disable certain apps, I guess I won't be able to get into removing stuff until I root the phone.
Maybe I should have said i don't like the stock icons, I still prefer the SII one but have since downloaded some icon packs so we're all good there.
On my journeys I saw someone had written a little program to guide you through rooting your phone so I'll have to find that again. I'd also like to backup my stock setup in case of warranty issues further down the line.
Thanks again.

You can use the HTC Logo as menu button. But you'd need a custom kernel that supports that.
AMOLED displays are usually very over saturated compared to IPS LCD displays. But IPS will give you a more accurate color and truer whites and blacks.

The HTC logo doesn't have a capacitive sensor, the "logo button" feature actually uses the first row of pixels immediately above the logo as a button.
Not trying to attack anyone here, just want to make sure that the information is explained a bit more.

Yep, it's the tradeoff you made when you picked LCD.
If its any consolation, displaying white on your S2 actually caused the display consumption to go up drastically (sometimes double the power required) while on LCD the screen uses a much more consistent amount of power. The whites on your One -should- appear as truer whites, while yes, the black will be more washed out.

Useful to know, thanks!
Thanks for the input, being brand new to HTC I'm still learning what's available.
Ideally I like Nova so I'd like to keep that. I'd like the general menus to be white text on black BG, I can clean things out with Titanium and stop ads with adfree.
From what I can tell I'm going to need to root the phone and then install a rom.
Are there 'pre-optimized' roms? Are there any Roms which are basically stock except for the colour flip? Can I get 4.3 in there as well? That middle button would be great too. My SII came with swype, I miss that.
I've found instructions on rooting but a little unsure which rom to go for, konfuzion's suggestion of 42One looks ok but I don't know what's out there, supported and up to date.
If you have any more thoughts they're always welcome
I'm gonna need some help on this guys.
I'm in the UK on the EE network, can I download any rom or do I need a specific 'EE' one?
Do I need a rom if I just want superuser privileges and a reversed/inverted menu? (also be able to install titanium backup and adfree)
I think I can handle the rest of it.
Thanks.
Well you most likely have a gsm one so you wouldn't want to flash anything in the sprint one section. And seeing as your gsm i believe there are a few roms over there that are 4.3
