How turn on BRIGHT flashlight - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I used simple flashlight on ours SGA in CM 7.2 torch app but I notices that when you are taking a photo at night with flashlight, at hat moment when taking picture flashlight goes VERY bright. So is there some apk that allow to use that VERY bright flashlight or we are just doome with very dimm flashlight? ;(

Tick high brightness in flashlight app and youre done.
But Im not sure if it will work as Ive not tried it.
Anyways, there will be damage to the led if you run it in high brightness for a long time!

[Q] Light Sensor Not Working?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't enabling the option of "Automatic brightness adjustment" under the brightness menu in sounds and display enable the light sensor to adjust the brightness of the LCD based on ambient lighting? I notice no difference with my brightness and it is always one static level. I've tried putting it up to different lights, taking it outside, etc and it doesn't automatically adjust. I couldn't find anything in a search for this... does anyone else have this problem?
I have this problem as well. What firmware are you running and do you have any mods or sre or anything?

I'm just running stock firmware rooted, I'm going to flash to some kind of rom eventually but just haven't had the time
Are there any roms that this option is confirmed working?
Mine is stock and seems to work just fine. It changes brightness as I move through the office between dark reading rooms and bright conference rooms.
I'm not a big fan of that feature in any of my phones. I prefer to have a constant bright screen, but I haven't bothered turning it off yet for some reason.
Weird how mine doesn't work.. I just waste battery life while I am in the office with the phone and wish it would auto adjust. I'm trying the beautiful brightness widget but I find it tedious to have to micro manage my brightness before going outside
Have you installed any type of screen protector that requires the use of water to apply? I'm wondering if that's what happened to mine.

Auto brightness doesn't seem to be working too well in JH7 for me. Keeps the brightness all the way down in my lit up room. Worked best on the original JF6.
I have seen my screen change brightness a few times with the automatic setting, but I generally keep it on the lowest brightness to save battery. I'm running the stock firmware.
My biggest problem with the auto brightness is that the dynamic range isn't wide enough. Even in direct sunlight, it doesn't bump up to maximum brightness. The high should be higher, and the low should be loooower.

No screen protector, just a Body Guards case

I noticed the same...no change in brightness when "auto" is selected. From day 1. I keep my brightness pretty low to save battery life, so it wasn't a deal breaker. Would be nice if it worked though.

Flashlight

Hi,there are many gestures with the Note but I heard that you can turn on the flashlight while the phone is locked just by shaking it? Has anybody done this?

I don't think this would be a good option... what if we keep in our pocket and run??? device definitely bounce and flash on !!!!.
I think you are talking about the flashlight application in the market (not the torch widget that comes with recent upgrade - LC1 I think).
The flashlight app has a (configurable) feature whereby you can turn the light on by pressing the power or menu key to get to the unlock screen and THEN shaking the device. I do sometimes use this - as if you are doing something like a DIY task and you need light quickly with your hands busy it's the quickest way - one button push and a shake.
Havng said that I have found several times that when in my pocket, I've accidently pressed the power key and my walking motion has then turned on the light - spotted by a rather strange white dot shining through my jeans!

Screen off timer?

Hello developer,
Im just thinking of an app that it will display a signal (eg. Led, blinking counter at status bar) before the screen goes off. This is a very good alternative to smart eye, simple because it will not use the front camera and is not accurately working under dim light situation.
What do you think?

Flashlight App on Gear

Had not seen this idea yet, but you can sideload a Flashlight App onto the gear for those quick times you need some extra light to find your way or a dropped item. Safer than pulling out phone and waving it over pavement! Just downloaded Screen Flashlight for free and works great, but not a full screen light due to flashlight graphic, so maybe there is another one that is. Too late to check now, but wanted to share idea. Cheers.
I'm using my Gear as flashlight since day 1 of the custom ROM. It's really handy when trying to hook up cables behind PC, or just in plain dark area.. Of course it's not as bright as our phone LED light, but still serves well.
On-screen Flashlight
I installed this app and it's work great on my Gear.

Just asking

Is there a calibration for light sensor? I use auto brightness most of the time and recently my sensor doesnt work well. It stay at the lowest most of the time unless the outside is VERY bright and when I went back to a dark room, it doesnt dim unless I lock and unlock again.
