Hi all I'm running mclaws cm9 rc1 and just downloaded order and chaos but I find it to be very laggy even the sound skips. I've seen videos on YouTube where the game runs OK.
The things I've tried are...
Gamebooster app set on ultra gaming.
Chainfire3d with nvidia plugin and downgraded textures.
I have a 512mb swap file
Ended all background tasks.
Turned off sound.
But the game still lags any other ways to boost gaming performance would be appreciated thanks

Ending background tasks is usually useless, except for some. Most of them just restart.
You could try overclocking your phone. I believe the highest stable value is 921Mhz.
If you still want more, get a new phone.
Use cm7. Much more speedy and stable!

Well. You can always overclock.
CM9 will have laggy games because there are too many background processes and too much of Ram used.
Go to Developer Options and down, select limit for background processes to 1.
Your game might still lag, that's because of ram usage.
Try Ram Booster, and even try adrenaline engine on a 921 mhz oc.
If it still lags, there's nothing you can do about it.
Just go to GB. Less processes, less Ram = Better Gaming.
In short GB = BG.
Gingerbread = Better Gaming.
You should either go for a Stock ROM with lot of tweaks and OC or use CM 7 with OC
That would be the only way...

Well you have to accept the fact that ace is not a gaming phone. It's ok for an android experience to users but if you're into gaming on android, you gotta buy an armv7 device.

On demand means the processor will clock to whatever speed within the set parameters it needs to run smoothly. It will always try to run as low as possible while not compromising speed. This is generally the best option and there's little to no reason to change it. Unless you want to save as much battery as possible of course, then you could put it to energysaving. You really don't want maxperformance as that will drain your battery and give little to no advantage over ondemand
The other is the clockspeed of the CPU and should generally be left alone. Overclocking it too much can permanently damage your hardware. There is no cooling system, so increase it very conservatively. You should leave it at stock, unless things are being slow, but don't put it too high. The higher you put it, the faster it will process yes, but also the more energy it uses and therefore heat it creates. Too much exposure to heat will mean game over. Overclocking is also likely to lower the lifespan of your device.
Hope that helps

1.do not oc your device more than 800 mhz and use ondemand governor,
2 .use the inbuilt option to choose the frequency because app like set cpu use 4~5 mb of your ram (setting> cm setting> cpu setting)
3. try using adw ex launcher it uses 11 mb ram only avoide go launcher
4. create a swap partition of 512 mb and set swapiness to 80%
5. use only default android keyboard (ics android keyboard is better)
6. use task killer to kill ongoing useless task time to time
7. do not use much widget at the same time
I remember mebitek or yagya or some other famous dude said that moving cache to sd card slows your device down..?
I set JIT off, and VM heap to 24. Also oc to 710 MHz, phone works like a charm. But i don't play games, i just want the phone to be snappy. I think the vm heap might cause fc's for bigger applications, at least playstore always force closes when i had VM heap at 16.. but otherwise the phone was really responsive with 16.
Battery is also good with those settings. Please correct me if i'm somehow mistaken!
jit on should be better

Just leave min cpu freq to 245, yes.
Also, if your kernel has Smartassv2 or Lilgv2 available, use those instead, they're better for Mini than stock Ondemand.

(FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE IN CM9):-
go to settings
1)developer option-mark Gpu rendering ,windows animation &transitin animation as 0.5,mark kill app back button.
2)performance-use 16 bit,processor lilg as governor at max710(u don't see much flickers)
3)use apex launcher as default .(push it in to ur system-apps)
Has anybody used it? I have, but i just wanna know ur oppinnion about that... Cuz i dont realy think that it is any better than app called ram manager pro... I am using ram manager right now and i have to say games run better than with supercharger and u have different options like balanced, balanced more free ram, balanced more multitasking, hard gaming and hard multitasking... So looking forward to ur feedback
IMO, im prepare with Ram Manager
Im tried Superchager quite good, but yeah idk why, sometimes im get laggy. game and stuff.
60% to ram manager.
40% superchager.
ram manager pro is easy way. supervchage need do manything
100% supercharged

Hi
My SGN 7000 task Manager shows 799MB of Ram of which abt 650MB is always in use.
I use One touch optimizer but wout any significant reduction in used RAM.
If I kill process in Task Manager, it shows 13 -15 process killed & Used Ram improves to 600MB.
Note runs very slowly due to this.
Sometimes Task Mgr shows only abt 450MB of RAM in use & then SGN is quite fast.
1. How can I increase RAM allocation? Is that a good idea?
2. If not then how do I stop process running in SGN. It is rooted & am using FrankoKernel 2.6.35.7 #8 , BB LB1, Build GB.DDLB2.
Thanks
If. U have franco kernal u don't have to increase it because when u install the kernal tha ram will increase to the highest

Asfaik, the note although states 1GB ram, 200 or so Mb is utilised purely for system.
800 is the correct use for apps, and Android will use as much of it at all times based on what apps you regularly use to keep them cached for quicker access.
There are ram tweakers on the app store. Personally I use the one provided with Norton utilities, part of Norton AV, which works very well.
Hope it helps.

The problem is that the coding is not really optimised for armv6 and im sorry to say this but our adreno 200 kind of s**ks, so even with overclocks, u should't expect great performance, (of course this varies according to ur mini's hardware, other ppl may run it smoother)
Final note: Mini is not really a gaming phone and most roms such as mebiteks or squad or kittenlinux bases should give fine performance for gaming.

i just flashed a new rom and overclocked it to 806Mhz with ondemand governor and its working fine for now hope it continues the major problem is all the apps that i dont use actually eats up most of the ram usage which slows it down...what rom do u guys use and what do u think is the most stable for gaming and stuff? and are there any scripts for gaming or making the system more efficient? im using the v6 supercharger btw.
Thnx/
try using chocobread or emanon rom's with overclock upto 806Mhz and gov performance.....it will be very smooth, i promise u
The "Best ROM" is the one that fits your needs, this has been said a lot already. You needs would be gaming right?, so look for one that has lots of performance regardless of battery, that should give you a hint.
Since the "best" is no more than an discussable opinion historically ending up with fighting, thread closed.
hi dev
I am using cm10.1 rc2 but it has alot of lag. Any way to improve it? ??
Replace your ace processor amd gpu buy an S4 dissemble is octa core and gpu and glue it on ace it will be so much faster
Just kidding
Dont fill up system and data
Try ram management script's
U can try using swap if u have a fast sdcard
Overlock it a bit and change governor smartassv2 always got me on the good away
Use lite browsers and launchers
Thats all u can do

Juice defender don't boost your performance and nofrills is USELESS in CM roms because they can set de frequencies without 3er party apps... cm roms have in-built a system to OC/UV CPU frequencies... installing apps you only get more lag because they'll increase your ram consumption, the best way to reduce lag is bareboning the rom, kill useless process and using some scripts could help too
I'm damn sure No-frills increases performance but increases battery usage as well, so for this use juice defender. Both of them are just ~3mb (combined) so need to mumbo jumbo for free space... lol

Use greenify, and select all those apps that remain open, such as facebook, viber ...
