Did you happen to come from a Froyo rom? If so you'll need to flash a new radio. Froyo radios don't work with ICS.

Yes a GB radio will work on ICS. GB rom will need GB radio as far as I know. Chk the threads and stickies for radio files and how to flash. I use the adb flash method personally.
The latest radio is 3831.18.00.11_M

ever solve this issue?

[Q] Quick help please! about S-OFF

Ok mine is an incredible S.
Current stats:
VIVO PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.16.0000
RADIO-3805.07.03.05_M
eMMC-boot
Aug 26 2011, 12:28:53
I want to S-OFF it and put on the CyanogenMod 7.
How do I do this? The only thing stopping me from as far as I know is the HBOOT version (it is too new) therefore I cannot S-OFF yet...
I've seen a thread around that I can make a goldcard and flash with a stock ROM but does it change your HBOOT (as-in downgrade it?) so I can flash...
thanks
I'm quite new to all this but i'm able to pick it up quite easily... thanks

That is the key question. With the new HBOOTs that HTC has released for other devices, including the Verizon Incredible 2, the HBOOT cannot be downgraded with the phone in S-ON state when you try to run an older RUU or load an older ROM.zip, so it may be the same with the IncS HBOOT 1.16.
You can give it a try and report back.
I'd rather not try, as I don't know what im really doing. apparently there is a new 2.3.5 sense 3.0 rom coming out so ill jusyt install that. I'm refreshing the revolutionary page 5 times a day.

Revolutionary
I used revolutionary and it worked like a charm!
arghh!! stop making me jealous!! well because the HBOOT is too new
It would be really good if someone found a way to downgrade this phone

Wow... I bought my Incredible S from Virgin about 5 days before you did, and I got the old HBOOT version which Revolutionary supports. Looks like you got the short end of the stick there.
Have faith in the Revolutionary guys and gals. They will find a solution. Then you can join us in the S-Off club! Breathe deep, and keep refreshing that page!
I. Have s off just need to downgrade to a different radio

[Q] to update or not to update

Just a quick question.
I have HTC IncS Sim free bought in UK.
I have S-OFF it using revolutionary and is rooted.
If i were to apply the OTA update will it work fine with my fone or do I need to S-ON it first and then apply the update.
you will need to revert to s-on first. beware, once you update, you might not be able to s-off. I read that the update comes with hboot 2.0. no one knows if it can be s-off'd.
if you want to keep the phone s-off, just flash arhd 2.1.0. Mike just updated the rom using the official update.
okay thanks alot.. So to revert it to S-ON again i believe i need to update to a stock rom but which rom should i be using for my base band version 20.2808.30.085AU_3805.06.03.03_M
read this

I have read this but i do not know which version of stock rom would is for my device? how do i find that?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
try this. you should be able to deduce from reading the thread. if not, i'm sure someone can answer your question if you post in that thread. good luck

You sir are crazy. Is no one seriously not going to tell this guy not to do it? The ota update that was just released is a piece of crap, the roms on the dev section are light years ahead of the newest htc update. Don't do it!
I agree with "itsbeertimenow", you may wanna avoid the latest update as it includes hboot 1.16.000 and revolutionary will NOT work anymore.

haha. i already suggested using arhd if he wants to keep s-off. what he does with the info i provided is his prerogative.
having said that, I agree with you beertime. if it were up to me, I would not switch to the official ota update.

I actually read that it's hboot 2.0.
afaik, 1.16 can now be unlocked by downgrading then using revolutionary.

Hboot 2.0 is even worse...so no update for me.
Yeah, I know about the gold card option, which I will have to try at some point...but the risk involved is a bit concerning at the moment.
Anyway, I would advise against the update.
no update from me
my advice is to not update.
I was always a stock rom fan giving the reason, a. root involves a risk of bricking your phone and b. HTC was doing not bad on their sense UI IMO. (OK you could argue that but I personally believe so).
But this 3.0 update is just so not HTC, I don't see a big improvement of performance but the otherwise, and the UI feels like beta version of a custom rom.
check my recent post:

Also, consider other members' opinion on rooting back from stock 3.0, you'd better stay and wait.

Although the OP for ARHD 3.01 state that you need BlackRose 2.02.0002 installed, in reality you do not.
There are several members that are running ARHD 3.01 with Revolutionary 6.13, so you simply need to boot into recovery, make a 'nandroid' backup and then you can flash ARHD 3.01.
I was running with revolutionary and it worked fine. I just updated to Blackrose cuz I was bored but revolutionary worked good to.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
The 6.13 revolutionary bootloader works fine with ARHD.
Be sure to make an nandroid backup incase something goes horribly wrong or you end up not liking the new ROM.
You'll also need to wipe your data partition, as your GB /data partition won't play nice with an ICS ROM. You'll get ridiculous amounts of force closes.
Hey JJ!
Good to see you here mate!
Seen a lot of your good work over on the Play forums
You got yourself an IncS S? and you gonna be dev'ing some roms here as well?
And yeah, like the others said no need to update the HBoot, ARHD works on both.
You could run the super wipe script included in the OP for a hassle free install
Guys, Tried placing the ROM in SD-Card and flashed the ROM as it is but got stuck in Bootloop...
Now what to do? Update HbOOT?

Did you get it working? I'm actually a little surprised I'm not seeing more info in your post. What method did you use to flash, what recovery/version, did you do a full wipe? As there's so many users here confirming it installs with revolutionary hboot, it seems updating that is not the answer, might be an issue with your method.

Since you have BlackRose HBOOT, the procedure to go back to S-ON and prepare your phone for an official HTC RUU is documented in the BlackRose thread; you just need to search, read and study before you begin.

The information you need is located on the first post. When you uninstall BlackRose, it will replace it's S-OFF HBOOT with HTC stock HBOOT 1.13. Then you are ready to run an official HTC RUU.
