SlimICS RAM - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey. Ive been using Slim ics ROM for 2-3 weeks now, im loving the speed, looks, and all.. but i have one question: My free RAM is usually around 120MB but if my phone is on for 3-5 days straight it starts to lag a bit while free RAM drops to around 70MB, a restart clears everything and its snappy again with free RAM at 120-170MB, so my question is, is there an app or script that will basically do the same thing than rebooting without actually rebooting?
BTW: how do i thank people on the forum? I wanna thank the SlimICS developer!
PS. If it helps im on:
Slim ICS 4.2 with Semaphore 1.3.0s kernel
Semaphore tweaks:
Smartass V2
Smooth UI
Deep idle
Bigmem

Okay, i have been reading about that script for a week or so now, but have been afraid to install.. because of these questions: now that i have some scripts installed via semaphore manager , should i remove all the files from init.d before i attempt to install Supercharger v6? Or can i just install without worrying?
Another thing is, ive understand that i can choose the scripts i want to enable when installun Supercharger , right? So which ones do you recommend to enable?
Thx alot.

Yea, but the idea was that i wanted a script/that basically does the same procedure automatically, which Supercharger V6 apperantly does(?)

Get Fast Reboot Pro then. That has an option to make it run automatically.
Where is the thread for the Supercharger V6 script? Not heard of that one before.

GingerDX13 + Supercharged

Hello ppl, just wanted to ask if anyone has managed to install v6 supercharge with GingerDX ROM.
Every time i try i end up bricking my phone. I think the problem is the busybox but i am not sure. I do a clean install of GD13 from stock ROM and then i root my X8. since the supercharged script needs busybox 1.18.2 or lower, i install it, but then when i reboot, my phone stucks at SE logo.
Yes, i have. But, just follow the instructions in this thread to get the equivalent of supercharger working on yoyr phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212396
i finally made it and installed supercharged on my x8 with GDX13....to be honest i dont see much difference.
my free memory is always stuck on 35-40MB which i find it to be extremelly low

You have low memory because of a lot installed apps ... Try to remove some and see the difference

Update: i chose Aggressive 1 as supercharged script. The first time i rebooted, my phone was stuck at SE logo. After restoring it using SEUS and installing GDX13 again, i ran superscharged Aggressive 1 again and it worked. Now i have 45-50MB free at all time and my phone behaves better

V6 SuperChager

||!! TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK !!||
My revo have been running on this v6 supercharger script for a few days and I really like it. I'm on GingerVolt 1.0 rom and love it but after i use the v6 supercharger script on it, it actually made it run much smoother and quicker.
Here's the link for you to grab the file you need and it gives you lots of info on it too
this the file you'll download " V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh.txt "
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
This link give you more detail instructions with pic on how to run it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126940
This link also give you instructions on how to use the script but main thing is it also tell you how you can make it stick even after every reboot

You want it to run properly make sure you have BusyBox v1.18.2 installed. For some reason it works much better than older versiosn or newer versions
Thanx zeppelinrox who created the V6 SuperCharger script
also Thanx to zeppelinrox and MalarKeY007 for posting
Good Luck

how's you're revo running after supercharged?
not sure if you have the same issues i had before and after root/gingervolt
issues i had is when the soft key don't turn on unless i have the revo set to auto brightness
and sometime the screen freeze when i mutitask and go back to home screen this mainly happened on stock vz7 or rooted but once i flash GingerVolt it happen much less but still freeze once in awhile
after i supercharge it those 2 issues is gone, my soft key lights up each time i unlock and it don't freeze on me anymore
i even notice it switch very quickly whenever i go back to home screen or even whenever i switch to different apps/games

yes it does
it even works on rooted vz4 and revolt 1.5, i had it for a few days before gb is out
and it works great.
i'm not sure about rooted vz6 because i haven't try it but from the original links about this mod it says its compatible to any rooted android firmware/rom so i would assume it'll work too
wow i am impressed at the noticeable difference in screen transition, opening and closing of apps everything is faster and smoother i love it

Yeah, I suggest trying out each one. You might find one that's geared to the way you use your phone.

Seems to be a lot smoother and snappier. I had the soft key issue once right after initial reboot with the script otherwise no problems since.
Does seem to be much smoother though. Was eyeing that supercharger thread for awhile, glad I finally tried it.
I'm just running balanced now
Supercharged GingerVolt
I can't seem to find the help file that will tell me what the each of the options are. Anyone have an idea?
Seems like it makes my battery run at a higher temp
Supercharged GingerVolt
Forgive the vague question, but what exactly does this script change? That is, how is my phone being "super charged"?
Thank ya

Why the dev do not includ this in their rom ?
some links for to do the method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
the image method (that's very easy with this)

i don't know, but you can test it by apply the script, and there's an option without install supercharger, just show all the values

[Q] Use v6 supercharger and smurfed out on other roms

hello,
although the topic of supercharger says that it can be used in all kinds of roms i just want to make sure.
is it possible to use these 2 tweaks (now optional for sapphire) on roms like zeus/echelon/marvel?
i know the devs of these roms aply tweaks demselves so that's why i want to know. i can imagine that to much tweaks can be bad for the rom..
maybe it's possible but i won't gain much.
thanks in advance for the help
for me it helps a lot..
I am using marvel v4, and without the SManager applying the tweaks, the software has a certain lagg..
When I see at the screen "SManager has gained root acces", which means he is now activating the script, I see a reallly big difference in speed and battery consumption, in a positive way.
So my answer would be yes, definately. I recommend the script.
as we say in dutch, i am going to take on my bad shoes and just give it a try..
have a good backup so can always go back..
On this topic
What are the downsides of using v6supercharger if there are any?
I cant think of any..
Because the script only tweaks the build.prop if I'm correct, it just applies changes to make it faster and better for your battery.

V6 SuperCharger Does tweaks at systme/etc/init.d, build.prop and it changes the values for memorykiller and other mumbo jumbo, if you read the original thread for V6SC you can learn what are the things it does.

If it is so good...... Why LG, Samsung, etc. don't make the tweaks themselves?? Are they interested to keep users using laggy and poor-battery devices??? Why that??
Hehe.. why? Don't give the customer the best product but let them want more/better.. and you can't expect a flawless product for the price of an OB

today i tried v6 supercharger my handy fly now
handy?
i tried these two tweaks on Echelon but i didn't notice any difference..
The only difference is untutu benchmark.. it gave stable 2600/2650 on stock echelon.
after the tweaks the score went down to 2550/2600.
I also tried the tweaks on sapphire en there was definitly an increse of performance..
so it's just about the rom you use these tweaks on..
offcourse not so unusual because the most stock roms have allready been tweaked

thats why i also do a benchmark.

phone is getting slower

Hi guys. I'm using cm mods for like 2 years. But it seems that it's getting slower and slower. I guess the new apps need more ram or something. Is there any way I can make my i9000 faster? Should I go back to gingerbread? Or any rom you can suggest for faster use?
It's really annoying to use the phone lately. Always lag.

For my phone helped me wipe cache/dalvik cache/fix permissions and factory reset... After these wipes my rom runs fast and smooth but after 2-3 months I need to do it again because the phone getting slower again Try it if you want I hope this can help you
I just use CM7.2 stable and no lag plus I can use chainfire3D in some games which gives them an extra boost... not sure if chainfire3D is compatible with any other version
I am using GamerzROM and the Fly-On Script and I can tell that it's super smooth. I also ticked GPU Rendering in Developer options, it seems to me that it makes scrolling so much smoother and basically everything is working fast.
Thanks for recommends. I installed gamerzrom and it's really good. I mean it's like i bought a new phone. I hope it won't do lag again after a week or so. If it will, then I'll try to add fly-on script I guess.
What is the difference between gamerzrom and CM???
