Most themes work only on Deodexed ROM. The one u installed from SAMFIRMWARE is STOCK ROM. You can find the Deodexed Version from Ramad's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790. More over chk with the theme developer's thread if the theme is compatible with Ur ROM Version (JVK).

I have tried but i get an error flashing.
"Amend script (update-script) is no longer supported."
I have CMD 3 wich is the one that comes with cf-root 2.6
Is there any way to install the Deodexed ROM im my situation?
Yes and No
Yes, There is a stock deodexed ROM on the develpmente section.
No, if black theme is developed for froyo, there is no warranty it will work on jvk gingerbread

Flash supercurio's hacked JVK kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975349 and then flash the ROM from recovery, I will be updating Deodexed JVK on my thread to use updater-script in a few minutes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790

Guys , iv'e noticed that my battery'd draining on JVQ modem so, i would like to change it to JVR but even after using the jetpack rom tool,SGS kernel flasher the baseband remains same it says "XXJVQ" . Any ideas on changing the modem??
I9000 on JetpackROM v4 + Semaphore v 1.7 JVS.
Not sure, but doesn't Odin support only modem flashes too?
So, if you download eg. Stock JVR rom from samfirmware and flash only PHONE-packet, it could work.

As RomWiz said your only option is to flash a stock rom(v20s is the most stable and fluid). If you want custom roms like Zeus , Marvel , ICS etc you must root your phone :good:
well thats it , flashed a rooted v20o and installed zeus v7 rom ,, thanks alot guys ,, oh by the way whats the difference between v20x and v20c and all of these ,, i know u can jump from one to another but what they meant for
They are originally different firmwares for different countries, some vary in bug fixed, that's why people recomend the v20s, it's the lastest

Hello,
I am new to the XDAdevelopers forum and don't have much knowledge of rooting or installing customs roms to Android phones.
I currently own the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 and just looking around some videos I would love to have some customs rom installed on my phone, such as the new Jelly Bean roms that are out now.
I would love to know on how to root my Galaxy Note if there is a Noob Tutorial for rooting the galaxy note and maybe a Noob Tutorial on how to install Jelly Bean rom that is currently out (any suggestion on which rom would be great)
As I said I am a noob and don't have much knowledge on how to mod your android phones and any help would be greatly appreciated
FYI: Looked around the forums for the while, I couldn't find anything simple enough, I bet there is somewhere in the forum, not sure if I was looking correctly >.<
Here is a guide to root your phone

There is a free version for people who cannot buy from market, look here or you can also use k-tools for flashing kernel its free on market, extract the kernel to zimage and put on root of internal SD and then flash it using k-tools.

As long as you are on any safe kernel you can flash any JB rom, no matter if you are on any TW ICS, GB or CM9/10 roms. I am on CM10 right now and flashed it directly on stock LRQ ICS with Speedmod kernel.

yes, it needs some files to be downloaded manually, mobile odin pro downloads them automatically. Why don't you use K-tools, its free and very easy to use. i flashed Speedmod last time using k-tools only.

Yes, select kernel (.tar or zimage format) in kernel field and then hit flash firmware. make sure to check if the kernel is flashed after restart before doing any wipes and all
bad or good...

Hello,
So after getting some knowledge of the things (thanks Shut_Down :good, I was wondering which is the best combination for this phone?
Right now I am running the stock ROM and kernel.
Will the new official JB upgrade also change kernel or just ROM?
Since people here have already tried different combinations, which combinations have you found that give good, consistent and fast running?
Thanks!

Same here. Stock JB LQ4 + ThunderZap 3.5.
So I am guessing I will upgrade to the stock JB ROM (till there will be a JetMod version of JB).
1) Which would be a better kernel set CoCore or ThunderZap?
2) I am right now still running the stock GB ROM.
What would be the right upgrade process kernel update then rom, or rom and then kernel?
The reason I am thinking kernel first is because I still don't have a custom recovery (using the stock brand) so i can't backup or load new roms.
What do you think?
Thanks!

Try both and see what firs you better. And about order, you can install ROM with temp. CWM, but I suggest you use permanent, with custom kernel. So first kernel, than ROM.

Thanks mate! Again you helped.
If I install the stock ROM will I be able to get it in my local language (Hebrew), or do I need to download a specific ROM that is already in my language?

Hm, on this Russian JB there is no Hebrew as I see. So if you want it you should wait for release for your country or any with your language.

Last question, when just changing kernel, do I need to do any wipes / resets (I have read about dalvik cache, factory wipes etc.) ? Or is that just for when installing new ROM's?
