So I tried unlocking/rooting/flashing my phone for the first time this morning, and and after installing a 3 muskateers ROM, my phone not only thinks its a HTC one, i can't even access my SD card through USB, I have to go through recovery. It's very tiring, and I've already tried so many things. Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's true that there are many threads that relate to SD cards, but none that I can find that have the same problem. My ROM works more or less, with a few bugs, but accessing the SD card either from the phone or from a computer doesnt work. What should I do?

Within the next week I will be getting a new phone. My current Hero is rooted with a custom ROM installed that I need to reset back to completely stock. That is one problem. The other problem is that my SD Card is not working at all. I need to know how to revert to completely stock without the use of an SD Card. Any help is amazingly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
Go to the HTC website. Download the 2.1 update for the hero. Run it and your done.

I had this working months ago, strangely it wouldn't work on cm7 but if I used sense on fire rom as my main rom it worked fine.
It sets up bootable images on your SD card and then the app changes your main boot.img and directs it to the rom's on your sdcard so anything you do on it when booted into a SD rom will be written to your SD not the phone.
I found it to be a little buggy, still quite useful for testing roms but its just as easy and less buggy to just use nandroids.

How did you get it working?
It keeps popping up with the message "Data required for first run, must quit!"
What does that mean? :S I have checked it has Superuser permissions. I am using the SenseOnFire ROM.
I have tried rebooting. Should I try again?
You need a connection for the first boot.
And the license check.once a week
Then you can open boot manager

Okay. Well, I didn't use a pirated version, so I should have the license checker thing.
I actually paid for it... :L
Who's is it? If it is yours, perhaps consider releasing a free version with a few less ROM switching abilities.
Maybe limit it to 3 or 2?
It is not mine
Anyway,it is uncrackable for now...you need connection to check license once a week
And the first boot to download all files

I agree with kylon, it doesn't touch your internal memory except for the app itself.
All the .IMG's are written to your sdcard in a folder called Boot Manager, then after selecting to boot an installed rom the app changes the boot path so it boots from your sd card instead of from the phone memory. If something goes wrong i.e bootloop etc you can easily go back to recovery and select advanced restore then restore boot from a nandroid backup and it should boot up into the main rom installed on your phone.
How do I know what type of SD card I have? And what's the normal size of roms on SD card?

USB OTG support for HTC salsa
Hi ,
My device is HTC salsa (rooted), running by stock rom(Android version 2.3.3, kernel version 2.6.35.10), will my device support USB OTG ?, so that i can connect Flash drives(Pen drive/hard disk/mouse/keyboard) to my device, if not , is there any way to make my device to support USB OTG. I don't have interest in custom ROM.

hi there, although you can use the search function for this, i may aswell allow this question for others that wish to follow this.
I typed in USB OTG and got this as top search >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820375
please beware this isn't designed to run on our phones, this may or may not work. i would suggest using the search functions and look into HTC variants of this and not other brands. Good Luck in your quest chap :good:

that's not recommended, why would you want to? all you would do is cause force closures and possibly crash the system.apk which renders the phone pretty useless. the system.apk is meant for each phone so for use in another htc model it probably wouldn't work correctly or functions would be missing, and to use in another brand android you will find it won't work at all.
rule of thumb, never move a system app to the sd card. unless you want to reflash your rom again or know how to replace it back again.this goes for google play, and other main system files just to save space.
Since Internal memory is low and I don't want to loose system app , I just wanted to convert system app to user app, install as user app and create a link through link2sd. So that it my internal memory increases.

there's no other way other than rooting and using data2sd to increase memory. its been tried and tested and all you end up with is failure and some serious complications

Use Root Browser from Play Store. But do you want to copy the whole folder? You atleast cant save the folder an an .apk. But you can copy all .apk contents for sure.
Please don't encourage users to do the wrong thing. Never move or mess with system apps when they don't know what there Doing. All you said here has contradicted what I said of don't do it.

Pretty much just that. Not sure what to do. Flashed trickdroid 5.3 and like the ****ty luck I always have with any phone, data stopped transferring to the phone via usb. I could take it off, but when I tried to put **** on it said "Phone has either been disconnected or isn't available" or something like that. Got ARHD 8.0 on my phone via adb push, thought **** was good so I formatted the **** out of my phone, go to flash it and it's a "bad" rom. Lmao ok. ****. Any tips?
