I had this working months ago, strangely it wouldn't work on cm7 but if I used sense on fire rom as my main rom it worked fine.
It sets up bootable images on your SD card and then the app changes your main boot.img and directs it to the rom's on your sdcard so anything you do on it when booted into a SD rom will be written to your SD not the phone.
I found it to be a little buggy, still quite useful for testing roms but its just as easy and less buggy to just use nandroids.

How did you get it working?
It keeps popping up with the message "Data required for first run, must quit!"
What does that mean? :S I have checked it has Superuser permissions. I am using the SenseOnFire ROM.
I have tried rebooting. Should I try again?
You need a connection for the first boot.
And the license check.once a week
Then you can open boot manager

Okay. Well, I didn't use a pirated version, so I should have the license checker thing.
I actually paid for it... :L
Who's is it? If it is yours, perhaps consider releasing a free version with a few less ROM switching abilities.
Maybe limit it to 3 or 2?
It is not mine
Anyway,it is uncrackable for now...you need connection to check license once a week
And the first boot to download all files

I agree with kylon, it doesn't touch your internal memory except for the app itself.
All the .IMG's are written to your sdcard in a folder called Boot Manager, then after selecting to boot an installed rom the app changes the boot path so it boots from your sd card instead of from the phone memory. If something goes wrong i.e bootloop etc you can easily go back to recovery and select advanced restore then restore boot from a nandroid backup and it should boot up into the main rom installed on your phone.

That may depend on the ROM you are using or you have a broken GAPPS zip file. Try re-downloading and re-flashing you ROM and please say what ROM you are using. Cheers.

No, this is happening in "fresh" install
In the past, using the same cMTD configuration 69 2, there hasn't any kind of trouble in this, in last days I lost the google account, and my contacts, and have to install the rom again, in order to use google account

Don't know what Lucky Patcher is, I use FBL (FroyoByLazslo) too, never had that problem. Maybe the file is corrupted, FBL has gapps included, so re-download and reflash.
If THAT doesn't work, go to the post and ask your question there. BYE!
the problem is with cmtd. the market needs cache to work and you cahce is set to 2mb. you can either raise this higher to download larger apps (but that defeats the point of cmtd) or you can bind mount cache to your sd card. flash the patch youll find the file in firerats thread on this or ibcoders (sorry if i spelled name wrong) or github or where ever you got your cmtd files

USB OTG support for HTC salsa
Hi ,
My device is HTC salsa (rooted), running by stock rom(Android version 2.3.3, kernel version 2.6.35.10), will my device support USB OTG ?, so that i can connect Flash drives(Pen drive/hard disk/mouse/keyboard) to my device, if not , is there any way to make my device to support USB OTG. I don't have interest in custom ROM.

hi there, although you can use the search function for this, i may aswell allow this question for others that wish to follow this.
I typed in USB OTG and got this as top search >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820375
please beware this isn't designed to run on our phones, this may or may not work. i would suggest using the search functions and look into HTC variants of this and not other brands. Good Luck in your quest chap :good:

that's not recommended, why would you want to? all you would do is cause force closures and possibly crash the system.apk which renders the phone pretty useless. the system.apk is meant for each phone so for use in another htc model it probably wouldn't work correctly or functions would be missing, and to use in another brand android you will find it won't work at all.
rule of thumb, never move a system app to the sd card. unless you want to reflash your rom again or know how to replace it back again.this goes for google play, and other main system files just to save space.
Since Internal memory is low and I don't want to loose system app , I just wanted to convert system app to user app, install as user app and create a link through link2sd. So that it my internal memory increases.

Use Root Browser from Play Store. But do you want to copy the whole folder? You atleast cant save the folder an an .apk. But you can copy all .apk contents for sure.
Please don't encourage users to do the wrong thing. Never move or mess with system apps when they don't know what there Doing. All you said here has contradicted what I said of don't do it.

I really don't think it matters if it goes to internal or external. could be your signal was a little wonky and you got a bad download. always a good idea to check the md5 against the source before you install it. easy enough to do through root explorer.
In relation to this thread i just want to ask how can i update into JB coming from Overcome rom, what is the best custom ROM so far for the P1000
Any success, djerk?

Apps not recognized after data2sd script by puppet13th
Hi,
First of all a big thanks to all those who have posted about this (I have thanked them too :good.
Here are the procedures I did.
Unlocked the mobile using instructions from htcdev and confirmed that the HBOOT screen shows "UNLOCKED".:good:
Flashed the CWM Recovery v5.0.2.6.
Installed root.zip on by mobile. The superuser version was from ChainsDD.:good:
I created a ext3 512MB partition for my SDCard Transcend 8GB class 2 using mini partition tool.
Booted into my stock ROM (HTC Asia_India) and checked if the root was working and it was fine.:good:
Restarted and went into the recovery screen. Wiped the data cache, cache partition, dalvik cache.
Reboot into stock rom and installed Busybox.
Restarted and went into the recovery screen. Installed htc-data2sd-ext3.zip from puppet13th.
Bingo! Got the required internal memory. :good: Installed all the required app and changed few setting in mobile.
After a restart the apps are not found and the settings that I had changed was reverted back to normal.
What have I done wrong?
Regards,
Vishnu
I have to be on Stock-ROM without any Data2SD solutions (on CM I have not these problems fortunately ), because the whole system runs slow and apps are missing each second boot and some have force closes. I have a class 10 16GB SD card and a 512MB ext2/ext3 partition.
Can someone tell me what is the best supported script for stock ROM?
normally its the htc-data2sd or the other one inc in my rom thread. If you notice though there not removed as there's a residual trace left behind and sometimes f you reinstall the apps it says would you like to reinstall this app etc.
I don't tend to use stock at all so its hard for me to say, im now running another phone as well as my salsa and with current personal issues i cannot check it out for u.
Hope you can check it. Thanks. I'll have to some how handle my phone such that it doesn't restart or drain out.

Hi, I just switched my sdcard to a class 10 with 700mb of ext3 partition. Now after a restart the apps (in internal storage and the ones which are moved to sdcard) are working as usual.
Now as mentioned earlier I still face the issue where the settings are being reset after restart. For example, I changed my skin from default to Herring and changed the mobile network to use WCDMA only. These settings are being reset to the default.
Isn't it strange?

Yes, I'm talking about the pre-installed skin. Every time it restarts it switches to the default skin. So was wondering if I removed that, if something would happen.

Int2ext will work so long as you flash it according to instructions given.
You can take a backup, use root browser, delete the stock theme and replace it with any theme. Just don't forget to rename the new file to the old one. Even I'm curious to know. This problem happens on my dad's phone as well, sprint evo 3d not rooted.
