Galaxy Tab P1000 dead after failed Odin flash - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I was attempting to flash GB_Stock_Safe_v5 to my Galaxy Tab P1000 via Odin and it failed half way through.
Now the Tab does not power on or show a charging screen.
Is there anyway to go back to Download mode?

Hi
I'm not a GTab user but in SGS phones there's the JIG method to acces to download mode if the phone is bricked and I don't really know if it is on GTab too so google that and let me know
P.S you'll need an extra usb cable to do this don't loose your extra cable!

Many modes are download mode without you realising it.
Try just make sure you are fully charged, and prepare the Odin and connect cable.
Then power up in download mode.
If comm is detected and added in Odin, that means it sees your tab.
Flash away.
Another user recommend differently.
He said once he restarted Odin, comm is detected and added.

DID I JUST BRICK MY PHONE??
tried flashing the i9000 rom... got messed up sometime after flashing csc and pda.... now i can boot to recovery menu and get odin to recognize but im getting an error
copy_multi_carrier from: ATT
multicsc : can not acces to /system/csc/ATT/system/
copy_common_data
then it stalls.. my power button doesnt work to reboot system now...
Even though odin recognizes i hit start and nothing happens..
can anyone help.. i will donate and make it worth your time..
No you didn't brick your phone, you need to follow the I9000 guide in the stickied threads. You need to load a Captivate kernel before fully rebooting your phone.
First off get your phone back into download mode. Pull battery and usb cable, restart Odin, then follow this method to get you into download mode, put in battery, hold down both volume buttons, keep holding them and plug in the USB cable.
First when you flash a I9000 rom make sure you uncheck autoreboot on Odin.
When this done when you flash the Rom it will say Restet in Odin. At that time pull your battery and USB cable.
Restart Odin and load the Captivate kernel. Put you battery in, hold both volume buttons, keep them held and plug in the USB cable, should go into download mode. Start Odin, and it should be fine to let it autoreboot.
I missed something it will be in the stickied thread.

can you clear something up is Android System Recovery the same as download mode??
ok this thread can be deleted.. im a noob.. kjpdx throw me a link to donate.. i figured it out by myself but atleast you replied..
Two different modes. Download mode shows an Android holding a shovel and Recovery mode is where you would install update.zips.
Needs to be in Download mode when installing roms and kernels with Odin.

Hi:
I have the same problem of my Galaxy S. It is stuck in this screen saying
copy_multi_carrier from: ATT
multicsc : can not access to /system/csc/ATT/system/
etc. etc.
I boot it to the download mode as instruction, but the Kies always shows connecting device, and it never gets connected. The Odin shows no com port or device for me to load the firmware. Can anyone help? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks! I couldn't get download mode and this is the only thread online to help. I received this error when trying to install the voodoo lagfix while running cognition 2.2 beta 7. (for some reason, my cognition did not have the lagfix built in)

That reason is that voodoo doesn't work with 2.2
For the sake of your wallet, I would read the threads more carefully before flashing new roms if I were you. I'm not trying to be a ****, but this issue was addressed many times in the cognition thread. I'm all for learning from others on this forum after they make the mistakes

[Q] Galaxy S stuck !!

I was flashing a rom yesterday on my Galaxy S I9000 and had made a nandroid backup.I lost all my apps while flashing so I tried to restore the backup using rom manager. But when my phone rebooted it went into clockwork but when it again rebooted after backing up,it got stuck on the galaxy s I9000 screen and is not showing any improvement since yesterday.I don't even have the 3 button recovery!!
Can I use Odin or Kies to solve this or has it gone out of hand??

Hi,
the only way to proceed is download mode and flashing via odin agian without repartion. Your backup should remain in the Clockworkmod directory. Do a advanced Restore with CWM-Recovery and don't Restore the system part!
My phone doesn't have a three button recovery.I don't think there's any other way of getting into download mode in my situation. Can Odin still help??
How do I get into download mode without the 3 button recovery? Can Odin still help?
So you can't get into CWR or Download mode correct???
If that's the case you may need to build the micro usb resistor jig to get you into download mode. The how to thread is around here someplace...

I think the service center can handle this.
Will Odin or Kies be able to detect my device?

[Q] Boot loop without recovery and download mode

Hello everybody!
I've tried to find a solution, but without success.
Today I tried to install CWM on a french Galaxy S.
I've rooted the phone with z4root and after I started on download mod with adb.
Then with Odin3 I installed this file "Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v2.7-CWM3RFS.tar".
After that the phone rebooted automatically, unfortunately it's rebooting eachtime on the galaxy s logo.
The problem are that I can't boot on download mod or on CWM.
When the phone is off and I plug it on charger, it doesn't charge!
I think my phone is bricked.
Do you think you can help me or it's dead?
Is there a hard reboot procedure or something like that?
Thanks
I have exactly the same problem!
Are you sure you can't enter recovery? Volume up+home+power.

Yes i'm 1000% sure!
I can acess the Download Mode, but Odin/Heimdall does not recognize the USB connection...
Keep Trying
I know this is weird but keep hard resetting it. Try like 20 more times before you give up. Worked for me in the past I know it is weird. I had just flashed a new factory ROM.
I swear i have tried to enter the Recovery 20-30 times!!
It's fine

did u try vol down + home + power button to go to download mode? if it can do that, the problem is just find some driver to make odin recognize your phone. search for "usb driver for samsung galaxy s" in google
then you can bring back your phone to live by downloading any rom you want and flash it via odin
ps. but if you cannot go to download mode, JIG USB with 301 K ohm will help you look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdn5GoRjhn0
Same problem here, I actually didn't see this in my search and made a new thread about it (feel free to delete). My computer had KIES on it so it had the drivers already and it's the same computer I went through the download mode before with so I have the drivers. I tried to reinstall them but still nothing.
I fear I may need to buy out my contract :crying:

I am sure that I am right with this. "If you root, do not use KIES" so you have to uninstall KIES and download separate USB driver.
Then it should see your phone when connect with ODIN
Hope you got your phone back alive soon

Did you checked usb drivers, if not try to connect another samsung android device to your pc first. if another phone connected properly then problem in your phone only.
i suggest check this thread, if you think you completely lost your device - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551

Sorry, I should have been more specific. When I reinstalled the drivers I had actually uninstalled KIES and installed just the drivers.
I do have an update though but still can't get it to boot completely. Late last night I decided to try to get download mode to work one last time before passing out and pressing Vol-, Home and Power actually brought me to the recovery screen for the first time in my phone's life! "F YA!" was the only thing I could think at the time so I first went through and formatted/wiped every option I could find then installed the CM9 that I knew worked and now I get to the alien with the matrix-esque background and it stops there. I plugged it in and left it on that screen all night and that guy was still staring at me this morning. I tried download mode again but my computer still doesn't recognize it.

You have to try again to get it into download mode.
Use Odin for your device model and run it as administrator. If Kies is installed, kill all Kies processes by using Task Manager. Prepare the files under PDA etc. Pull out the battery and hold power button pressed for 1min. Then keep all buttons combo for download mode and insert the battery while pressed (needs some acrobacy skills). If the download mode starts, you can connect your phone and flash firmware again.

did someone really told you to wall charged when you had dowload screen? that's so uncharacteristic of XDA users.
nothing on your screen is not necessarily bricked.
find and download rom/firmware for t-mobile on ur pc.
start odin on ur pc.
press the power button on ur tab for at least 5secs.
connect ur tab to ur pc.
see if odin can detect your tab
if you can detect your tab, go ahead flash with the rom you just downloaded. No need to do repartition.
once done, reboot and see if it is fixed.
