How a software damage the hardware???, - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

we all know that the great app rom manager is a poison for our ace and it will hard brick our ace.... i heard that it damages ace motherboard.... jst wanna knw how this happen??? how a software damage the hardware???
Sent from my GALAXY Ace

The Software is the one that controls the Hardware...
For exmaple, when overclocking your CPUs PC is done through the BIOS, which is software and if you overclock it too much and it might heat and get damaged...
On old computers there used to be virus that could kill your computer...

Software has the ability and potential to destroy hardware .

I think rom manager flashes incompatible boot image and hence corrupts bootloader!
But Samsung SC guys say that motherboard IC chip has burned.
Im confused...

Haha, when something isn't working or can't be fixed, service centers always say the motherboard got fried.
The ace won't turn on, motherboard fried.
Laptop won't turn on, motherboard fried.
Fridge doesn't work, motherboard fried.
Bycicle won't brake, motherboard fried.
Mother in law keeps trying to break the marriage, motherboard fried.
Babyboard turns pyromaniac, yeah.

He already went there. But he wants to buy the parts in the "grey market"
@OP : Y U NO repair it in samsung service center? It's your fault so don't be so cheap with your phone.
They say they will change the motherboard.
But I think they are actually using Jtag to restore the phone! I think motherboard has the IMEI number assigned to it. Mine did not change even after I unbricked my phone with service center after using rom manager.
There is no spare parts for Ace in the grey market! Best thing to do will be giving it to service center!

+1.
go to the service center and use ur warranty.
If ur warranty is gone, make up an excuse.
One time, that happened to me and they didn't accept the warranty. sayin' its my fault?!
So, i made up an excuse saying that i thought this was a game and it sounded so fun...bla bla bla
I installed it then clicked on that, and then my phone didn't open.
and they got trolled, and accepted it.
man is your phone hard bricked or soft bricked
if it is a soft brick then it would get fine by simply flashing it with a new stock rom
is it hard bricked "means when pressing the power button and even on connecting it with a charger there is no response" then you have to get it's mother board changed from a service center and if it is in warranty then told tell them that it was rooted just say that it stopped working while using maps or any other pre-installed app.

I'm not sure if this will work since I'm new to this however if your phone is detected by your PC when you connect it then maybe try installing some kind of a ROM using Odin
Correct me if I'm wrong but I would have done that if that was my case. And again I am not sure if it is even possible because I don't know how Odin works to the fullest but I know it can install Roms to a phone from the PC only as long as its connected
Again correct me if I am wrong

[Q] Availability of Replacement Motherboard for Hard-bricked N7000?

I've a hard-bricked GNote. Plz don't ask why and how I managed to screw it. I cannot regret enough myself. Never intended to and usually I take good care by reading before doing something potentially risky. It's just that the temporary cwm.zip was on that note for long, and it was downloaded and used for rooting before it was discovered and marked as dangerous and I did not visit XDA meanwhile.
Anyway, it has been more than a month now. The device is super-hard bricked. Nothing can revive it. It's totally dead; no display, download or recovery modes. Has been tried for JTAG and met with failure (eMMC seems to be damaged altogether). So the only thing left to do is to replace the motherboard. The seller from whom it was bought claimed that it had international warranty at the time it was sold. However, after this disaster, I discovered this particular unit has no warranty by Samsung (was strange for me). I have contacted Samsung UAE, Samsung South Africa, and Samsung USA and all of them refused to extend any help. The local Samsung service center would charge me $400 (yes that's correct - US$400 equivalent in my currency) for replacing the motherboard.
I might use some help here by getting information on whether the motherboard can be obtained from some other place, and how much would it cost. I have access to UAE or Singapore (friends visit these places). If someone can help me with this information on how much it would cost me to get a replacement MB from these markets or may be from the Samsung service centers there, it would really be helpful. Any help in this matter is much appreciated.
Hard bricked note
I have the same problem. if anyone can let me know whether ( & where ) i can get a replacement motherboard from any of the following countries in my region - Singapore , Malaysia, India or Srilanka, i have fiends in these places but they don't know where to look so if anyone can point me in the right direction. if i can get replacement i have technician who can get it done.
FYI - I live in Maldives ... which is a small Indian ocean island nation. Few Hi tech service centers avilable but no spares.
If you think the cost of mobo is high or you can't get one,you could try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26285877 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26428986
Please note that the above methods are not permanent fix for superbricked phones....it just makes it usable again....And it also lessen your SD card space drastically....

I think sourcing the actual mobo's will be very difficult except on ebay, but they're likely to be damaged ones anyway, you might be lucky.
As above poster mentions, you can try a repartition as a workaround until there's a concrete fix.

@vijai2011 and @SpyderTracks, thanks for your suggestion guys, but probably you are confusing it with a super-bricked GN. There is no way I can repartition the eMMC as there is no bootloader. Without it, I cannot go into download mode or have PC connectivity of any kind, whatsoever. MB replacement is my only option.

What I'm suggesting is the only way to replace emmc is by replacing the motherboard, and samsung is the only place that will do it, or any insurance place who'll probably send it to Samsung. Sourcing motherboards is notoriously difficult outside of a service center. It's the whole board that needs replacing not just the chip as it's embedded.

I guess the best thing for you is to acquire the eMMC chip and just take the defective chip out and replace it with another one (not entirely the entire motherboard). I'm not sure though how you can accomplish this feat but someone (courtesy of 'dekelm8' from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698977&page=59) was able to secure a replacement chip from this website - http://www.suppliesnow.nl/english-product-1108-000424.htm and http://www.aswo-elektronik.hr/eng/index.html (you need to register to that website actually).
So far he indicated that he got the replacement chip (* I think). Now to the nature if he was ever able to replace the eMMC chip with his replacement one, that remains a mystery to me still.
Hope that helps something on your dilemma and Good Luck if your able to fix back your Note.

Galaxy Note bricked after JB flash

Hey everyone
I'm a bit lost as to how to get started with fixing my hard bricked phone. It occured when flashing a leaked JB rom and now won't turn on, not even in Download mode.
I'm in Australia but bought my phone in Malaysia so the local Samsung shop is refusing to repair it without replacing the main PCB. They advised that a repair would be possible without the hardware replacement, but it would be illegal for them to perform because of issues relating to the IMEI (WTF?).
I haven't been able to get any response out of the phone. The battery was very low when I flashed (terrible move, I know), is it possible that the battery now isn't charging and this is why I'm not able to go into Download mode? I have a few mates with the same phone so I could potentially try a charged battery in it...
All up - I'm guessing that I have to manually write to the EMMC.... Is this just a matter of obtaining a JIG cable and using Odin? I'd like to avoid opening the phone up, but I can do if it's my only option.
Cheers in advance

I'm assuming you only get an LED? ,If you are suffering Erase Cap there is very little that can be done at the stage you're at.
All information regarding Ecap can be found in that thread.
You may say hello in there and get somebody far wiser than me to pick it up..
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Unfortunately the phone is completely unresponsive (although it does warm up when plugged in!)
I'm guessing it's the EMMC bug rearing it's ugliest form and it now needs me to bit a JIT kit to rewrite to it directly... but it'll take me weeks to learn up on that and get the parts...
I'm guessing I need one of these bad boys to proceed:

Can anyone confirm/deny/comment? I'm gonna go out and grab myself an Ideos X5 to hold me over, but would love to go back to my Galaxy Note.
Leaked JB rom from where did you get that
Actually there is no leaked jb rom
Try using jig to enter download mode
Before flashing what ROM and Kernel are you on?

Sorry to learn about your mishap. I suggest you should not waste money on RIFFBOX as there is little chance you will be able to revive your device in the condition it is, and if you are not into electronics, and don't have hands on experience of soldering (i mean really thin wires), this will be useless for you. I am telling this from my experience as I have same bricked note with me. Had it jtagged, but could not get it revived because the bootloader in eMMC is damaged, so the only option is to replace eMMC, which is physically impossible without sophisticated high tech machinery, or to replace the motherboard carrying eMMC chip. That is not available anywhere (not even on eBay last I checked), except Samsung Service Center, and at least in my country, they are charging like USD400 for the motherboard. I read in another thread here (cannot find it now) that it cost another guy about US$200 for the same thing else where (I think it was in India).
How much are they charging for motherboard replacement? I think you should go for this option as even if somehow you get your note revived without mb replacement, it is highly likely you'll still end up with partially damaged eMMC chip.
how did you know that it s the emmc brick?, i have my phone hardbricked before when i tried to use swap partition, and i get no responce from the phone also, i though it was the emmc brick bug, but i get it worked only with jtag, and costed me around 20$ only, and it wasn't the emmc brick, it was hardbrick but without emmc chip corruption.
the only way the emmc brick ocures is by:
wiping or formatting while on unsafe kernel
any thing else isn't emmc brick, and i think this your condition, you have to try jtag dear.
Thanks for the responses guys It's much appreciated.
I've ordered myself a little USB JIG, will see how that goes and proceed from there!

GT-N7000 Hard bricked

I have bought this phone hard bricked. It won't turn on and download mode nor fastboot, nothing... When I connect it in Windows I get SEC S5PC210 Test B/D so I was googling a lot and I found this Unbrickable Resurrector but unfortunatelly, it doesn't supports Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (I9220) but still I tested it out but no luck. The phone is detected but the flash is not written by the application so still nothing. A local guy tried to JTAG it and it said that the emmc chip is fried and getting a new one would do the trick which he doesn't knows where to find one. Now I want to ask, where can I find a good emmc chip except the link below?

emmc chip is a BGA, (Buble Grid Array). soldering that type of component needs a special oven to melt the solder balls at precise temperature and duration. This cannot be done easily.
Solder points are not on the edges of the chip but between the chip and the printed board, so you cannot acces with a soldering iron
Yes correct.. most you can do is find a replacement motherboard... may be by someone who has a broken screen and want to sell the note or so.. replacing the motherboard usually costs as 60% of the phone
I would say look on eBay for replacement motherboard as nokia says or try Samsung direct, but obviously more expensive.
I doubt very much you'd be able to source an emmc chip anyway even if you did have the skills to bake it on, the suppliers would never honour anything other than bulk orders.

Well just buying an emmc chip looks much cheaper from buying a used motherboard. Buying a emmc chip costs $80 including shipping and everything... I don't know about motherboards, but I'm sure it's much more than the emmc's price.

according to its document : http://omapworld.com/iNAND_e_MMC_4_41_IF_data_sheet_v1_0[1].pdf
SDIN5C2-4G is 4GB storage. Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 has 16GB it should use SDIN5C2-16G.
or the guy who sell the chip, just to make the phone back to life with just 4GB after all ?? If so, system partition takes about 2GB and the rest is user /SDcard 2GB ?

[Q] Samsung Permanently Bricked?

Hey,
I recently bricked my galaxy 8.9 due to A bad ROM installation A few months ago, I have just gotten the money to take it to A professional tech and they said there is no way in fixing it as they have done jtag and added the original boot loaders and the device is dead and has had it.
Can A bad ROM installation permanently bricked the device and destroy the motherboard?
Didn't think A ROM can do that much damage..
im confused?
I hear A bep in the computer so how can it be the mother board if theres power going though it.
Maybe its not caused by the rom, for more information you can read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875756
Think i instlled the whole zip thats what may have caused it.
Still I hear bep so theres some signs of life.
