GSM suddenly stopped working - Motorola Droid 4

Hi guys, GSM on my droid 4 was working perfectly until this morning. This morning, I noticed an app called "LTE OnOff" and decided to see what it does. I opened it up and changed my settings to "GSM auto (PRL)" and ever since then, GSM has stopped working. I've tried restoring to factory settings, reflashing the GSM patch but nothing works. Any ideas?

It's set to orange internet, network provider is set to orange.
dial *#*2263* and make sure all the bands are selected (go under combi bands and select them all). Other than that, not sure.
That's not doing anything on my phone, you sure that works with froyo?
Nevermind, tried sgs tool, all are selected... Still not working..
Ps: swype is awesome.

Get the exact APN name from Orange and make sure it's set for internet.
Sometimes, telcos have multiple APN settings.

What he said. Sorry I got the code wrong, I was going from memory. Failing that (apn check), you may have to reflash, but I'd see if you can get some insight from someone a little more experienced than me
maybe he updated to froyo and lost his imei
Don't understand why but it appears to be working now, I also tried it this morning with no luck maybe it's due to location, but it was working fine before...
Very strange, will try later today and see if it's still working.
Shortly after getting home, got no service message, after reconnecting to network the 3G connection is dead again.
I'll reflash later, this isnt right..
Exactly the same after being flashed and reseting everything to defaults, this is great.
Last time I touch clockwork recovery.
Can't even make any calls now , either the sim cards messed up or the phone is...
I'm starting to hate this phone.

[Q] Droid 3, no 3g after 2.3.4 update (maybe)

Yep, another noob with a busted phone. Verizon Droid 3, about 5 months old.
I've just noticed that I have no 3G. Not a 3G problem, I've confirmed with another phone that I'm in a covered area. Normally I'm under one Wi-Fi net or another, so I rarely use it. Noticed it yesterday when I needed it.
Allowed the 2.3.4 upgrade back in May. No problems, just had to reroot the phone. Pretty sure this started after the upgrade, but not 100% sure.
I've tried Googling, saw the *228, tried it, nothing. Found threads about task killers causing issues, uninstalled Advanced Task Killer, nothing. Pulled the battery and rebooted, nothing. Saw some thread on APN settings, but those are not available to me with Netwrok Mode set to Global. I can set it to CDMA, still has APN setting greyed out.
Not finding anything else much to go on, could use some help.
One thing you could try is hitting *#*#4636#*#* then Phone Information and changing the network to EVDO only. That would force it to connect to 3g. Then if that doesn't work try manually forcing a PRL using ##Program. You could always call Verizon.

Are you on any rom? Stock?
If your on stock, I would go to verizon and ask for a replacement or see if they can give you a replacement or fix it.
If your rooted/custom rom I would try re-downloading whatever rom your using and reflash it. And wipe caches.
I've actually had a few issues with the 3G on my own D3. These steps generally work for me.
Navigate to your APN settings. Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks
Press Menu (An option should pop up that says "Reset APN" or "Reset Values")
Press this and wait a few seconds.
Reboot, and you SHOULD be up and running.
If this doesn't work you can edit the greyed out APNs manually (NOT advised) with a trick I can show you. Hope I was able to help!
-End All Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt
I don't think you can even access the apn menu from cdma mode.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Unfortunately, none of them have worked. EndAllFUD, even switching over to GSM so I can get to the AFN settings, there is no reset that I could find.
I've went back and tried unfreezing all the oddball authenticators under the assumption that maybe one of then was IDing me to the 3G network. That hasn't worked either. Unless I come up with another idea, I guess I'm going to have to try Verizon and see if they can/will help.
Well, we have a resolution. After everything up to and including a factory reset, it seems that the 3G radio in my Droid has died. Verizon is sending me another; I'm springing for the overnight shipping.
I had forgotten how much effort had went into customizing this thing. The stock phone is just...painful.
I appreciate all the help that was offered.
Sorry to hear about the 3g radio in your D3, but glad to hear you resolved your issue! Also, I was going to amend my solution. I was basing my answer of memory due to the fact that I am currently running Hashcode's CM9. (It's amazing by the way) The proper instructions were as follows: (Amended instructions are in bold.)
Navigate to your APN settings. Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks
Set network mode to GSM
Change mode back to Global but quickly start tapping the "Access Point Names" menu until it lets you in.
-(You are now in the locked Global Settings Menu)
Press Menu (An option should pop up that says "Reset to default")
Press this and wait a few seconds.
Reboot, and you SHOULD be up and running.

Yeah I just had to throw in a trick I figured out one day when I was screwing around with my phone. My apologies for not remembering to put it in earlier.
Does anyone know how to tweak Droid 3 to make it able to call, message and 3G, but not 1x data?
It isn't possible to make calls or texts using CDMA service locked into EVDO only. If you use Google Voice and a SIP program it would work.

[Q] Mobile Network Type: UNKNOWN:0

I got a problem with my data connection.
I got on another city last day with 3G connection, and it started to get weird, changing from 2G to 3G constantly, very unstable, then after some time, the icon "E" or "H" disappeared.
I checked the Mobile Network Type under Phone Status, and noticed that is UNKNOWN:0.
Services, IMEI, and other related stuff is OK.
Any thoughts about that?
Try to enable Airplane mode and then disable to reconnect to the mobile network.
I did the Airplane mode plenty of times.
Plus, I wiped all data and cache.
Did a Factory Reset
Played a bit on *#*#4636#*#* secret menu...
What is weird is that my mom phone's (same model) got the same issue.

I have had this problem and searched everywhere. I finally found how to fix. Hope it works for you. Someone posted somewhere that SELinux was set to "Enforcing". YOu have to change it to "Permissive". Once I did that my network issue was fixed. You can download a Lunix Modifier from GPlay Store.
Go to your settings and the "About device" section and confirm whether or not your "SE for Android status" is set to "Enforcing".
My phone also same issue can you help me. I chenge several times secret menu network.

Resetting 'band' setting changed from test *#*#info#*#* menu?

The short:
I changed the "Select radio band" setting in the test menu (*#*#info#*#*) and it screwed things up.
I wiped and reflashed CM12.1 - but it didn't reset that setting (it's still borked).
Does anyone know where it stores that setting, or how to reset it somehow?
The long:
Initially in CM12.1 I was having problems staying on LTE - it always fell back to 3G and stayed there.
So tried this band change that someone who had the same problem suggested.
Now, every option I try is great for LTE but says "cellular network not available" and I can't make calls.
The exception is "Cellular" which I can make calls but only get 1X data.
These are the options in the menu:
"JAPAN Band (WCDMA-800/WCDMA-IMT-2000)"
"USA Band (GSM-850/PCS-1900/wCDMA-850/WCDMA-PCS-1900)"
"Cellular (800-MHz)"
"PCS (1900-MHz)"
I don't know what it was before and I can't see figure out how to tell what it currently is set to.
I just want to flash back to stock so things work again, but if this setting doesn't get reset then I don't know if that will work anyway.
Any chance settings like that are stored on the SIM card?

Worth a shot, but doesn't seem to have helped.
Try the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57778872
I seemed to have luck when I made the changes according to this post and then immediately ran the ping test. I don't know if the ping test really did anything to help but I've had cell service since following these steps.

Unfortunately that's what I did initially. The setting in that link ("Cellular") made my calls work, but I could only get 1X data.
So somehow by just flashing and reflashing different things (including failing to reflash to stock), it's back to where it was when I started.... which sucks, but is at least useable. Calls work and data works, but the first time it has to drop back from LTE to 3G, it get stuck in 3G forever (until airplane mode). Super sucks since it's my primary home router tethered. I have to airplane mode like 5 times a day.
Just in case someone else ran into this problem, I ended up getting a new sim from Verizon and everything's working now finally. It still says "000000" when it's in 3G, but I don't care about that - it works and it goes back to LTE when it can, rather than staying on 3G forever.
Works for Moto X play - should work for others too..
I too did the same mistake. Changed my Band to "USA" and couldn't restore to previous despite Factory reset.
The SIM 1 went into 4G data only (No voice) , didn't recognize 2G & 3G network for any sim.
However Sim 2 worked fine for 2G,3G & 4G.
i came across a thread in XDA, and after breaking my head over how to execute it, I finally did it.
I have written a brief guide to it. Here's the link.

Can't connect to network after flashing

This is my first post after being on here years and downloading many roms.
Last night, I was trying to redo my nexus 6 (T-Mobile) back to factory and then upgrade to the 6.0.1. One of the posts I had read had talked about installing the latest bootloader and radio. I did. Since then, I can't connect at all to T-mobile. I have tried factory restore, downloaded the Google image and installed, and tried numerous things. Everytime, everything appears to go fine until I boot up and can't connect to T-mobile at all. Tried going back to an old android version and radio and same thing. Rom boots and installs fine. No network. Hope some one has a fix for this and thank you in advance. Tried looking it up online and couldn't find anything that worked.

check your apn. if you booted, and alls running fine, then the rom isnt your problem. most likely your apn is wromg or missing info in it. that happened for everyone when marshmallow just came out.

I agree. Nothing about this is making sense as to why I can't connect to T-mobile network and the only thing showing is CDMA. I have screwed up my phone before but always been able to fix it.
