I want to get a good performance and a good battery life (if i can ). I want to install Temasek UNOFFICIAL BUILD 134 ROM and Symbiosis kernel 1.1.2! What do you think about this? or have better ideas? Tell me Please! Thank You!
Go ahead, it's a very good combo. Very stable. Great performance and battery life. Just remember that if you change cpu settings this might change(for better or worse).

Yep, I'm with Temasek 134 + symbi0sis 1.1.2 for now 2 weeks and I didn't have any problems.
I'm also running my O2x with:
1100Mhz Overclock
32Mb Ramhack
ZRam with Swappiness:100 and Virtual Memory Size: 256Mb
You can make that setting via GuesteOC app when flashing symbi0sis kernel.
Everything is working like a charm :good:
Try Gueste2X with baseband 218, It includes ramhack

Hi,
I'm curently searching for a stock GB V20l Kernel (2.6.32.9) with only overcloking ability.
Thanks
You can try Spica's HP kernel, it's stable and has pretty good battery life. OC can be up to 1.55ghz, but I recommend no more than 1.2 for daily usage
want it too. the very first kernels had just CPU OC, but now all overclock gpu, ram, etc. but my device can't deal with memory OC
up!

Why up? The answer has been given. Horse power kernel is a good kernel, choose SR2 version.
No kernel overclocks gpu, and ram hack exists only in some CM7 kernels.
For me sr2 works great.

Hi, i want to install cm7 kang and i want to know whats the best kernel to install for battery and performance. And if i flash a new kernel do i lose my data?
Performance and battery dont go hand in hand with each other. I have used IronKrnL and vandoka's CM7 kernels, and found this:
Ratings for various kernels:
1. Stock CM7 kernel: Performance 8/10, Battery 8/10
2. IronKrnL 1.3GHz: Performance 8.5/10, Battery 8/10
3. IronKrnL 1.5 GHz: Performance 10/10, Battery 6/10
4. Vadonka's kernel (normal version): Performance 9/10, Battery 8/10
5. Vadonka's kernel (powersaver undervolted version): Performance 7/10, Battery 9/10
There maybe some kernels like vorkkernel which i have not tried, but these 2 seem to be the most popular kernels for CM7 at the moment (vork not updated since 2 months).
I like Vadonka's Powersave 32mb Hack version -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427646
now i'm using swiftextreme 2.6.32.48 and it has good performance and medium battery drain, but now i would try the vadonka's kernel (powersaver) what's the different between base version and 32M ramhack version?

Base version = no extra ram memory, everything works like how it's supposed to be.
32MB Ramhack version = 32MB extra ram memory, everything works like how it's supposed to be, except reboot.
Ok, thank you all for the reply's and i will try vadonka normal kernel. But is it true that the 32mb ram hack, the camera and video camera don't work?
No, only reboot does not work in the 32MB RAM hack version, everything else like camera and video recording work fine.
ok thanks. I will try it soon.
Guys,
What's the best Kernels for this rom - CyanogenMod-7 for Optimus 2X - NIGHLTIES
Would like something stable and would push to 1.5 (currently stuck at 1000 standard)
Ta
The best kernel I would recommend is ETaNa Kernel (link in signature), because it's really stable for CM, and you can tweak it a lot with spicas On The Fly pack. Also the battery life is awesome with it. Only, ETaNa Kernel doesn't OC to 1.5Ghz. The HOC version OC's to 1.4Ghz and the LOC version OC's to 1.2Ghz. However the difference between 1.5Ghz and 1.4Ghz isn't noticeable. It doesn't make the phone smoother, it only consumes more battery.
But if you want to OC to 1.5Ghz so badly then I recommend Ironkernel for Gingerbread, you can find it in the dev section.

Hi,
1.2 - 1.4 would be fine also.
I will give it a go!

It is the latest, but are you sure you want a 96MB Ramhack? You are aware of the fact that some things might not work right? All in all I just think that 96MB is just a little too big. 48MB should be sufficient in my opinion...
Hi,
Yeah it's not installing, stuck on boot screen ;-(
Will try different one.
Thanks

Fingers crossed all ok on 48MB hoc
Hi guys, i'm currently using Etana, the last release LOC with 0 ramhacked!
Drain battery isn't to high and it's very very smooth ^_*
+1 for Vadonka
I can also suggest the latest Etana kernel. Works fine.

ETaNa kernel from Vadonka is amazing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427646
Which is the best?
Temasek OC Kernel vs ETaNa 3.0.35 vs ETaNa 2.6.32
Which one to choose for the best Battery Life, good for Gaming and Stable?
Thanks
Lately with ETaNa 3.0.35 I was having alot of SODs :/
Personnaly, when i'm on GB or MIUI v2, i love the Vadonka's 2.6.x kernel even if it's out-to-date...because it is Stable. The 3.0.x version is not that stable as the 2.6.x but it's updating oftenly once a week. The Temasek's kernel is optimized for his Rom, so if you're on CM7, go for it. Btw, those kernels are very excellent. All depend on what you're gonna do with it. You can try another kernel named ironkrnL by SetiroN. This kernel is good with GB and ICS but this developer isn't on this forum anymore, just google it and you'll find it. He's on google+...
Here's the kernel I use for GB and MIUI (WajkIUI too): derkernel, etana, guestekrnL, Jarvis, Skynet, Temasek, vorkKernel, ironkrnL...
For ICS (CM9): harsh, HP SuperSonic, Jarvis, Nova kernel and also ironkrnL
Finally, just give a try on those kernel and give us feedback.
:good: Push Thanks Button if that help :good:
I was using ETaNa 2.6.32 for about 1 month and was very pleased, then i started flashing the Etana 3.0.xx. In the start they worked very well for me but the latest stable and beta made my phone going crazy, tried all settings like 324Mhz minimum, tried without UV but i got lots of reboots and overheating problems.
Best performance I thing i saw at Etana 3.0.34 and the battery improved too in this version, the 3.0.35 was to unstable to me to get an opinion.
Now about the temasek OC and the Etana 2.6.32 (loc_lite) both on 1200Mhz max i think temasek's kernel is bit better all around and i am using it atm. But still i am waiting for vadonka to get back from vacations to get his 3.0.xx back on track.
I think temasek and vadonka brink the best out of our 2x!!!

Just wait for the next AWESOME Spica's kernel. :good: :good: :good:
spica isnt doing kernels for cm7...
This kernel is no longer being updated. Please refer to kowalski kernel thread for CM10 ROMs.
Presenting CM10 kernel built from source with ramhack and OC/UV support by wkpark
Only for the new (unlocked ICS) bootloader!
This is RC's kernel, with patches by wkpark for ramhack and OC/UV. Supports OC upto 1.5 GHz.
Thanks to them for all their work. Also, thanks to pengus77 for bringing CM10 to the new bootloader
Built using my guide over here
Uses spica's HP supersonic toolchain
Works with CM10/MIUIv4 ROM on new bootloader only
Download links:
New and recommended powersaver version!
Includes pengus77's wifi drain fix (All credit to him for that)
Non-OC, to increase battery life and stability
RAM hack values 24 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB for increased smoothness
New experimental governors are absent in this ROM, which is meant to be a stable version for daily usage. The new governors have not been properly tested yet and are unlikely to be used by most of the users. They may be included in later builds after more testing. If you want to use them, flash the experimental kernel on the previous page.
This is the version recommended for daily usage. Try the 48 MB one first, and if camera gives problems, then try a lower RH value.
Download link for stable, powersaver version
Link to latest experimental version
Download link for older experimental versions
This is the link to my folder with all kernels for the new bootloader so far, in case you want to try some other version. Ramhack values are mentioned in the file names, and if it supports OC (not every phone will like OC) it is also mentioned in the file name.
Thanks to RC and wkpark, this would not be possible without them.
Warning:
I am not responsible if anything goes wrong with your phone.
If your phone does not like OC/UV, or freezes when overclocked, reduce the max frequency or dont use the OC version of the kernel.
If apps like camera give problem, try to use a version with reduced ramhack value.
To be flashed over the ROM without wiping data. Wipe only cache and dalvik cache
If you are having problems with the new kernel and wish to revert back to the stock kernel, flash your ROM again

Trying the 32mb oc kernel, seems ok so far, will report back any oddities,
I'm on penguss cm10.
i tested..............
Great news. Just two little questions:
- does this work with cm10.1 as well?
- are the Wifi drain patches from pengus77 included?
Regards,
Orgler
Thank u guy's! i will try new_CM10_kernel_1225_32M_OC.zip and report back!

You could try it with cm10.1 but im not sure if it would work. Take a backup first. Wifi drain patches will be included with his permission and when he feels it is the right time (after the testing phase and all)
thanks for the hard work i think u can put like a changelog in thread and the features of kernel listed just avoid people asking same thinks all the time
included wireless.ko is the one patched by pengus? thank you in advance
edit: just checked, it's not the patched one
First impressions are good! Not much room for UV as 1ghz is already at 1000mV which is quite low already I think? But that is not important, just an observation.
Thanks Rugglez. Been waiting a while for an OC kernel on CM10 and no call bug either. This is the future for our phone I think.
I ´m testing the 48M_OC-Kernel on CM10.
I set max OC to 1,2GHz, but Antutu CPU Master shows Peaks at 1,5GHz! The Kernel is always scaling in its full available Range.
I tested it with different Settings and Gouvenours, nothing helps.

I just checked with "CPU spy" and yes it is hitting 1.5Ghz even though I have it set lower than that.
Noted. Will release 1.2 GHz and 1.4 GHz versions separately from next time
With pengus77 permission now, i'll integrate his wifi drain fix too.
Probably tomorrow

Same here oc set to 1.2 but it's scaling up to 1.5 seems stable anyway.
Took one pic and gallery FCed and phone soft rebooted.
With OC 32mb kernel camera and video recording is working.
