Hi,
this morning I installed a stock firmware from sammobile for my Galaxy tab 7 (the 3G model) P100N, Andoid version 2.3.6.
Odin worked fine, had no trouble at all.
Got myself also Mod Manger installed, but it always told me, I have to install the CWM Recovery.
But in order to install CWM Recovery it seems that I need Android 2.3.3 installed
So I was looking for some ROM i can use, found something, but realized, that my Tablet is not longer recognized. Not by KIES (which worked also this morning), not by Odin, nor by Windows itself.
The tablet works fine, but it's not recharging anymore when not turned off. Even if I connect it to the original charger, i get the red X in my battery symbol now. If I turn it off, I charges normally. Before this morning I had no problem with that either.
Any ideas ?
I already tried USB Debugging ON/Off, USB Connection from KIES, to Media Player to Storage and back. Nothing changed.
Now it's evening and I'm not one step closer to find a solution.
Thanks in advance.

hi
i have purchased an orange branded sgs from the forums i go on. all ok, unlocked it easily enough and i wanted to update the firmware. i did look at the firmware name etc on the handset but it didn't match any online from stock firmwares.
i downloaded odin 1.3, usb drivers and I9000 xxxxjpo firmware as seemed to be right with 512 and 803 bin.
i flashed the phone following the instructions and all went fine but when it rebooted it went into recovery mode. i then rebooted the phone and it went to the s symbol and black screen with the vibrations every so often.
i used the download batch tool which worked fine as the 3 button trick didn't work but my laptop no longer picks the phone up when i plug the usb in.
i have uninstalled all the stuff like adb and kies and usb drivers and re-installed it all but still no device showing. under device manager it shows an unknown device but won't accept any drivers.
the phone charges via usb and will boot to the black screen but thats it.
is there anything else i can try? i'm not good at soldering if i definately need the jig thing.
or do i call samsung and say a crashed laptop caused my phone to break during update?
Can you access download mode at all?
To do that you hold menu and volume down and power up. Download mode will show a picture of an android with a shovel or something similar.
i can if my pc would recognise my phone as i can use the batch file mode which worked. at the moment, no.
3 button never worked. must be a dodgy samsung handset.
Don't freak out.
I had a colleague of mine in the same situation, simply use the JIG cable to force the phone in download and repartition with Odin and a stock rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
HTH.
I recently tried Updating From Fasty 2.5 to Fasty II using rom manager with the most recent version of recovery installed. I had it Backup the preveious rom and wipe the data and delvik cash. everything seemed to be going fine until it rebooted and now it wont go passed the at&t World phone screen.
Another issue is i now can't seem to get into the recovery menu no matter what buttons I push. I can get it to download mode but for the life of me I can not seem to get any version of Odin to recognize the phone windows doesn't even recognize it when it was working when i'd plug it into any usb port. (This did work when I first rooted the phone but after no dice for usb)
If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it
U can't use Rom Manager to go from a Froyo Rom to a Gingerbread Rom. Try rebooting ur computer. Mayber that'll help Odin and windows to recognize ur phone.
Ok so i redid everything you said. I think part of my usb is dead or something (I was able to still charge until now it seems i plug it in while off but i don't get the big battery icon just the little Star like loading thing and then it stops).
my wife's phone is found fine, but my phone just is not recognized. thanks for the help but looks like i need to contact at&t or samsung unless you know of a fix for the USB issue i am having.
No firmware and USB problem
I have a large problem, my wifes galaxy s won't go by the first screen (says GALAXY S GT-I9000)
So i thought i'd fix it using odin using the 3 button combo. But that isn't working anymore.
Luckily i have a usb jig which gets me to the download mode ...... but !
When i connect the pc cable (tried 2 OE samsung ones) i get device not recognized so i can't use odin to fix it.
What can i do, or do i have to send it to a repair centre to be resurrected ?
I have searched and searched but not found any topics with the same issues i have on her phone.
Need a bit more info i.e were you flashing the phone??if so which rom?
Then phone was playing up so i flashed darkys 10.4.2.
However the usb connection wouldn't work so i flashed it to standard JVT
using mobile odin.
Then i rooted it and went to go into recovery mode and it wouldn't turn on.
I tried to help the gentleman , but no luck . From what he told me , phone turns on after battery insertion , and It is not recognised by usb => so odin not usable .
If you can get to download mode but the phone isn't recognized by your computer then i'd say it's a driver issue. Install your phone's drivers again. To do that, just installing kies is enough BUT be sure to open task manager in windows and kill any process that has kies in it's name before opening odin.
If that still isn't flying i'd try using different USB ports and even with a different computer.
Extra advice:
- try not to flash bootloaders for now. That means picking a rom that has no bootloaders included but matches your phone's current bootloader. If you were using gingerbread flash a gingerbread rom, if you were using froyo, flash a froyo rom.
phone not starting up past first screen (GALAXY S GT-I9000 in white on black screen), phone not recognized neither by pc nor laptop ( usb drivers installed ) , phone turns on after battery insertion without pressing anything.
This manual is from a German board
Take the battery out, then hold the 3 keys combo for download and put the battery back on. Now you should start the download mode.
If not, then try it with a jig.
Good luck!
GOT A JIG. WORKS FINE.
But pc wont recognize it !!
Have you double checked that you have the right drivers installed? I know you have to use the Nexus S drivers for CM9, not sure about Darky's ROM.
Drivers
Download drivers 64 bit | 32 bit from here and install.
It is NOT the drivers as my other galaxy s connects fine every time.
Drivers have been removed and installed repeatedly.
I would suggest a different computer, maybe a different cable. I have this same issue with my infuse, hope you get this resolved.

Already tried that as well
You could try Adam outler's unbrickable mod.
Pasted from other thread:
I just wrote a wall of text b4 and my browser crashed GG
Well, here we go again, i will only tell what I did/the process
I did a nandroidbackup, then i wiped all data (data+cache+dalvik), installed CyanogenMod 9 (Build 16), it rebooted automaticly, so I entered recovery again, installed Google Apps from there, wiped data and cache (no dalvik), rebooted.
Ended up looping at the Samsung screen (not animation), and I couldnt do the 3-button-combo, so the NANDroid backup is useless.
I can enter the download thing, but i dont even know what it does.
Tried plugging it in the charger (after letting it dry out during the night), and only the loop thing appears. Cant do anything.
I see that theres something called odin (Since my download thing is working (VolDown+Home+Power) if its that you mean.
If its possible to fix my phones state, please tell me how, since I startedrooting, flashing and stuff yesterday (Gotta start at some point) and followed HDTechVideos tut (On his website)

I have nowhere near enough ability for that. Pity though.
Your problem is most likely the USB port. Maybe cleaning it might help. It happened to me for a few months then when I got the S2 I stopped using it. Began to use it as my home 3g wifi modem and kept it on charge the whole time. A few weeks later tried connecting it to the computer and it worked first go. Ever since it has worked perferctly. I suspect the problem possibly started by a rain drop getting into the port.
Mind you, even when it wasn't being recognised by the PC, I would constantly connect, remove, reconnect, reboot PC and phone etc and it would sometimes get recognised. Other times it wouldn't connect but Odin still recognised it.
Sounds silly but try leaving it on charge as I did and maybe, just maybe you'll be lucky like I was.

Well as of today it is away to the O2 repair centre.
Its under warranty (unless the find out it was rooted etc) so fingers crossed.
Well had a text back today to say my phone has been despatched, so here is hoping that its fixed.
It came back from the repair centre yesterday with a note saying a part had been replaced,
no costs for me, yippeeeeeeee.
Seems like my Tab P1000 is major f**k**!
I've had issues with the tab showing up in Odin from day one...Does not show up.
Managed to get the tab rooted thru One Click Root.
Tried to get CWM but couldn't find it anywhere for P1000.
Downloaded and installed Mobile oding to try flashing Overcome.
Put all the files into Mobile Odin, and started flashing.
This was when things went sour...
The flashing just stopped for several hours at the Samsung Logo screen, after 5 hours i just turned the whole tab off holding PWR button.
Tried to go into upload mode, but that didn't work, got "Power reset or unknown upload mode". The tab goes into Download mode, but displays as "Unknown Device" in Device manager in Windows7 (I am running 64bit). I have tried to install the Samsung USB drivers, still does not detect the tab. Tab is not detected by Kies, Odin or Heimdall at all. Displays as Unknown Device in Zadig, and the driver is not possible to install. I think I have read through all the posts available regarding this subject, but not sure. I hope there is a way of fixing this without disassembling the Tab.
I purchased the Tab from a colleague, and he had installed the 2.3.3 firmware on it. He said he got Odin working and that was how he put 2.3.3 in. Could this be the source of the problem??
It got nothing to do with your colleague flashing 2.3.3 using odin.
I use Odin all the time, but never have actually tried Mobile Odin.
But I suspect the actual problem was, your G-tab was not properly rooted.
After you tried rooting your G-tab, did you tested it with Titanium backup or with any apps requiring root access?
Installing custom rom requires root access, otherwise it will fail in the middle because of write access failure.
Unrecognized by Windows 7... As many posts state, you need to connect to kies at least once before going to download mode so that your g-tab could be detected by Windows.
You may try this solution:
Start Odin on your computer, connect your g-tab and while connected to the computer, reboot your g-tab again to download mode. Do this three to five times, and see if Odin can detect it.
Hi, i bought a used Galaxy i9000 from a friend and it had Froyo 2.2 installed on it, i rooted the phone with an app on the phone because i couldn't seem to get any response when i plugged it into the laptop via usb lead. The computer will not detect the phone at all it just does nothing when it's plugged in. It will charge from the usb cable and charger but will not do anything once plugged into the computer. I tried using rom manager to install a rom, the last thing on-screen on the phone was saying that it was flashing the kernel, then it rebooted and since then the phone just displays Galaxy i9000 or it will also display a small circular clock type icon in the middle of the black screen and it is a frozen icon. The phone will go into download mode and i have tried to flash it with odin but when in download mode and plugged into the computer, Odin does not detect it, i have tried at least 6 usb cables all tested on my other i9000 and work fine but with this other phone they do not respond. The only thing i can think of is maybe the usb micro port is broken/faulty, what do you think it could be? Any help would be appreciated because i have been trying for hours for the past two days and cannot seem to figure it out, i'm just hoping the phone isn't beyond being repaired. Thanks
Did you install the latest version of samsung drivers?
if not install them, then try to flash again using odin... do it multiple times until you get it right.
and by the way, going into download mode without your computer recognizing your device is a big big mistake... hope it'll work for you
here you can get the latest drivers:

Have you tried in a different computer with automatic windows update switched on?

I have tried installing the latest drivers and also tried on another computer with no response. I have a working i9000 and tested it on both computers with the same user cables and it works fine, do you think the micro usb port is broken? I thanks for the replies

can you get into recovery mode, if you can you may be able to use a sd card to flash from. This depends on what recovery is already on there, have a look at this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30415128&postcount=1
It wont go into recovery mode it just boot loops when i try

Just yesterday I had issues with the latest Samsung driver (1.5.16.0 bricked my phone), so i reverted to1.5.9.0. This seemed to rectify flashing my recently acquired GT-I9000T.
It may help you.
P.S. 1.5.16.0 worked OK on my GT-I9100.
