Anyway to remove the Facebook App from my G1?

Question? Sry for the noob question, but I have a G1/Dream with update2.1. But for some reason, the pre installed FB app won't work, nor it won't update to the new version from the Marketplace.
Everytime I try, it says something like 'package file was not signed corretly' Can somebody help me with this? Thanks.

Can you uninstall it from Settings > Manage Applications ?
@romano_ezzat
There's no official 2.1 update for the G1, so the OP's phone must be rooted and running a 2.1 ROM.
but i cant do that myself because i am in Egypt i wish to root my phone but i want anyone be with me online to tell me step by step.thank u

Two ways to do it, possibly more but these are free.
Code:
In ABD-
Adb remount
adb shell
rm -f /system/app/Facebook.apk
or
Code:
In terminal
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
rm -f /system/app/Facebook.apk
Yea guys, my phone is rooted, sry I forgot to mention it. But I will try what you posted above, thx!

[KERNEL] Voodoo kernel for Nexus S. AOSP+Voodoo improvements only, always updated

Voodoo kernel build from latest sources for Nexus S.
It's always very close to the official latest Nexus S kernel.
This kernel don't modify anything on your system (like overwriting modules), so you can switch back to the official kernels: nothings changed.
It is designed to run on the latest unmodified Gingerbread version from Google.
NOTE:
ATM, the kernel is for 2.3.3 and support Voodoo sound and color using the previous color profiles (no washed out colors)
Enjoy!

When neldar will have the device and succeed to make a port, BackLightNotification will be integrated in this kernel.
I love BLN and I'm not the only one
I will include Voodoo screen and sound enhancements as well, and maybe an easy root method.
Nice
Peace

(Q) how to convert rfs to ext4 on xxjw4?

Hi can anybody help how do I convert and converting to ext4 is also called voodoo lagfix?
Any ext4 apk file can covert or is it specific to every firmware?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
your kernel has to support ext4. for example you could use chainfires cf-root kernel for jw4 and install the ext4 addon
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
please read the instructions carefully prior to flashing / converting!
ext4 will make you phone to have micro laggs and struttering 3d games rfs is working ok now
I used ext4 1.3
Everything converted to ext4 except filesystem
It failed cox of not enough memory
And rolled back
Any help?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
From the original CF-Root thread:
"Please note that when first using the tool to convert, you will probably notice /system is not converted. If this happens, it is because /system does not have enough free space for the extra space overhead of ext4. You will need to free up some space on /system before the conversion will succeed."
So what you wanna do is delete something in /system using some root file manager, for example ringtones in /system/media/audio or unused apps in /system/app, few MB should be enough. Be careful what you delete though, as this can really mess things up!
Give up ext4. Use it RFS much better.

You asked this is another thread already. And i already answered it. From what you asked there you don't even have the need to convert anything.

[Q] Can't update SU binary(GT-P1000)

My Galaxy Tab (from Hong Kong:GT-P1000) has been rooted by CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.
But I can't update the SU binary.
It show:
Downloading manifest... ]okay!
Parsing manifest... okay!
Latest version = 3.1.1
Checking installed version = 2.3.1-ef
Fixing database... okay!
Unpacking sutools... okay!
Checking current install path... /system/xdin/su
Downloading new binary... okay!
Gaining root access... okay!
Copying su to /system... fail!
I have tried to unstall the update of SuperUser and try again, but still cannot.
Can I manual update the file???
Can anyone help me???
Probably /system full.
Look for things you can delete.

My GT has a lot of free space,or you have another meaning???
HELPPPPPP!!!!
Specifically /system? A lot of free space?
I doubt.
If you have terminal emulator, type df
And see how full is /system.
Anyway, you are better off using pre rooted custom Rom such as overcome Rom. Or move on to CM9/10/10.1
