Hey there!
I have made a new app for change font size editor in all android system.
This app doesn't stay in background as a service. It change font size, reboot phone and keep the new font size for ever (if you don't change using the program) without run in background!
If you want give it a look try it, download from market:
Font Size Editor
This app is compatible with ICS, JB and Gingerbread.
It also can install roboto fonts in GB roms with a simple click :good:
This app doesn't change DPI, it works directly on the font
I have made it for myself, than I decided to put it on the market
It's really good on AOSP roms and Sense roms where you can't change text size from spare parts like CM roms.
It's good also in ICS roms, because you can reduce or increase the font size even more than you can do from system settings.
If you like my app, help me to stay awake to study: donate me a coffee from the coffee machine of my university with donate version from market
Font size editor donate
Hope it will be usefull
thank you so much for this application, going to try it on my galaxy tab 7.7 running honeycomb 3.2, ill give you a feedback
---------- Post added at 09:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:01 AM ----------
it says android 3 not supported please can you add support to honeycomb, its a real pain to read on such hight res device with it tinny text
I have tried it on my Galaxy S II, works well. I can set big font size for my father to read news, thanks.
You probably should say it's for rooted phones only!
This is extremely handy. Thank you friend

Very useful to have an overview, thanks. You can add chinacat.ttf as well. My wife uses this, works great.

i would love the Nokia font...
Exactly what I was looking for.
I have tried Fairy Dust, Magic School and Nosferatu but none of them works with non English characters (i.e: ț ă ș).
I was suprised to find that these work on my HD2 running Froyo
I tried Worstfeld, Contrary Mary, Alex, and settled on Nosferatu...Thanks a lot
I really would like this rounded font that I see in a lot of the "post your homescreen" posts. (please see attachment)
if this is running on 2.2 milestone?
make the font bigger
Many thanks
I’m using “Sony Sketch” and it looks great. However little too small so how do I make the font size bigger?
Tried “spares parts” but doesn’t work and app called “Font Size” from the market is not free, so there any FREE APP that allows you to change Font Size or is there a way to do this with ADB?
if I actually want a smaller font.
and it can be used in all applications. eg its Home screen or browser.
thanks before n after. ur fonts tricky working fine. on my milestone 2.2 nice sharing.

do i need to root my phone if i want to install one ot this fonts?
Just to let you know
Hi Love your thread
Have been mucking about with fonts all day.
What it doesn't mention in the thread is that you can goto any free font web site and download ANY .ttf file (as a zip, then extract and drop into the .fontchanger folder)
this means that the font choice is endless!!!! oh and be seriously cool.
Hope you don't mind, had to share the good news with my fellow streakies on the Dell Streak forum.
Thanks for the post has made my weekend (I know sad lol !)
so im new to the whole developing thing but i did make a tweaked version of frost using various parts of other themes that works with the aosp magic rom. if anyone wants to try it out let me know. i will be sure to give credit where its due once i compile a list of all the people involved in making the orginals.i will also add that the only actual editing of any sort that i did was of the services.jar to make the foont on the notifications bar white instead of black.
(I am not responsible for anything that may happen to your phone.)
Things themed in zip:
Framework-res.apk
TWFramework-res.apk
New Fonts
Settings.apk
Youtube.apk
also added...
Captivate Keyboard
KeyboardManager <----- My favorite thing ever

Don't include setCPU. The developer has asked for it not to be distributed in roms and/or themes.
Just giving you a heads up.
my bad lol. i remember reading that now that you mention it. like i said. new to this. thanks for the heads up.
Post a copy.. I like it, i'll try it out. I have been looking for a clear notification bar with the black type of theme.
So I can't actually post links but the semi url in the post is the link out at least it should be ;-)

I downloaded the theme and like it alot. A couple of suggestions to make it better though:
-When downloading apps the font is black on gray and is really hard to read, if it was white it would be much better
-I'd love to see the stock lockscreen thrown in the ROM if possible
-The green font is kind of neat in the menus but, having the green text entry box limits your theming options
I will take a look at these things and see if I can make those changes. Probably won't be until tomorrows though. Kinda busy...

where is the link?
I like this! Diggin the status bar and icons ++1, wanna see more of this
do we install this thru cwm?
This makes the AOSP look fantastic!
Three issues:
- The bold seems to be forced to non-bold, as an app I have which normally lists unread in bold and read in non-bold, which now lists ALL entries in non-bold, now.
- The green subtext in settings is tough to read and detracts from the larger white titles, as they are now non-bold. A grey would be better served instead of green, and re-bold the text.
- The download notification text is black and is nearly hidden. Making it white or light grey is best, here.
Thanks for making the AOSP ROM look less like a 1994 era HTML page and more like a modern UI
Am i missing the dl or link?

This is especially annoying in Gmail since new emails are shown in bold. Also the stock lockscreen can be found over in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793479&highlight=deodex. It works fine since ASOP magic is already deodexed.

it is more than likely the font that i have installed im going to start taking a look at all these other things right now. probably have an update and/or another zip for the stock font tonight. thanks for all the input btw. considering this is my first attempt at anything im glad to see that for the most part it is liked.
Any updates coming soon? I'd love to keep this theme, but the lack of bold is killing me

Frost with bold and no extra apps
I love this Frost theme, but hated losing bold and had no use for the added apps included, so I made a stripped down version with bold support.
Contains:
FONT: Zegoe (Light and normal) font -- so bold is less bold and normal is really light, taking up less pixel space per character
No extra apps
Original Frost theming changes
Simply flash through recovery as always
Thanks! I will have to try this when I get home.
Hello everyone! My SGS2 is dying Sad I know! But it might be time for a nice little update Well, I was thinking about getting the Note! It's the perfect screen size, but to be honest, I'm a little worried about the text.
My vision isn't as good as it used to be! I don't like having to focus too much on it to read it. I love the SGS2 because the text size and icons are already large. Icons isn't my major concern, but rather readability of text.
I also have my retired streak here, and text is a lot smaller and harder to read than my my SGS2. I know a lot of apps have text size options, like in xda app and tapatalk and such, but what about just NORMAL menus and web browsing and such?
Does anyone have an SGS2 and a Note and be able to tell me if text sizes are a lot smaller throughout the interface? and within apps?
The SGS2 has the option to change fonts, and some fonts are naturally larger than others which could help, does the Note still keep this feature?
Any screenshots would be awesome, but not necessary.
Thanks guys
I moved from SGSII to Note and i have not noticed that the font is smaller on the Note. My eyesight isn't the best so if the font was too small it would definately have annoyed me.

It does have this feature.
If you root you could change the density too.

Hi! Is that accessibility menu OEM or did you root to get it? Because that looks fantastic hehe.
Menu is OEM. But like it states, its only for some internal apps.
That's indeed the accessibility menu No root needed.
wow you guys made my day. I can't wait to order mine.
I'm creating a graffiti font using Fontlab 5 I've finished up all glyphs and adjusted metrics and kernening values I've compiled it successfully the only thing is when I load it into an android device the font appears very tiny and increasing font size doesn't really help it ....its readable but still to small to be a daily use how do I OK increase the overall font size inside fontlab
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me

INFO
All the .zip files in this thread are free and will replace all the default Roboto fonts in your device. Root is required before proceeding. These zips have been tested to work on my stock 5.1.1 first-gen Nexus 7. These *should* work on any Lollipop-running devices. There are no lockscreen bugs for these zips! If you do find an error, please comment below and I'll get right on it ASAP
INSTRUCTIONS
Click on Download beside the font name to download
Reboot your device into Recovery mode
Flash the zip file
Reboot into system!
REVERT TO ROBOTO
Click on this link to download the original Roboto redesigned for Lollipop.
Credits to gianton for uploading this.
REQUESTS
I'll slowly add requested fonts, as long as they follow my set guidelines:
They haven't been done to flashable zips by anyone else
They are known to have, at minimum, the following weights: Light, Regular, Medium/Semibold, Bold (more weights the better!)
All weights must have their respective italic/oblique styles.
I'd prefer if you guys would choose something from the more famous foundries, but that's fine. XD Also if you have the files with you at hand, please PM them to me separately and as much as possible have them in TTF files. OTF is fine but conversion tends to ruin stuff.

I have the original SF otf fonts, both UI & Compact with their respective display, text, and rounded variants. You should have used UI Display in your SF font, as imo it looks way better than compact for a phone. I use Compact as my condensed font.
By themselves, the fonts aren't very practical to use. The UI Display variant's letter-spacing is too small in smaller types, while UI Text's letter-spacing is too wide.
What Apple does is the font's characteristics change depending on the type. The default font is UI Text. For fonts larger than 19pt, the system swaps the typeface to the Display variant.
The tracking is also size-specific, which they don't do by themselves and have to be modified by the system. If we want to use the font without modifying them, we have to live with the non-standard tracking on them.
edit: i decided to use San Francisco UI Text again and scaled the letterspacing down to San Francisco's standards on my system. I also changed any styles that use sizes larger than 20sp to use the display variant along with a scaling larger letterspacing along with enabling the discretionary ligature.
