It doesn't improve the sound, and even creates distortion. Very very bad distortion, even without changing the settings. Just if the lib file is in ROM, if will distort the sound. I've it on my Nexus S and Acer A500 both running CM10, and it phucks up the sound on both of them. I'm using PowerAmp on my phone but wanted to try out the new Google Play Music app (it sucks BTW) and had to use DSP manager. It was very very distorted. Both on external speaker, and worse using my Sony MW600, which has a very clean out put with PowerAmp.
I don't understand why everyone wets their pant when DSP manager comes out.
P.S. I am not an audiophile or anything.
DSP manager is meant for modifying sound props to be for specific locations. I use soundfx.

Haven't really noticed, But then I always have DSP Manager,
It's good for bass though
I always delete DPS Manager, but i used it on my Desire HD. Now i only use the EQ's in PowerAMP and PlayerPro. If i need more flexibility i'll install the DSP add-on for PlayerPro.
Flash beats audio if you don't use dsp

What kind of headphones do you use? Do you usually listen with your devices plugged in and charging? Also, it could be device specific ROM issues. Are you using stable releases or nightlies? You should look at things a little more objectively before you assume that since it happened on two devices, it must be the app that someone worked hard on to develop. I have had mostly good experiences with DSP manager. Every now and then I'll get a lemon, but it has always been easily fixed.

Hey, all.
I'm looking for the best headphones available for under 100$ that are compatible with Samsung Galaxy Ace.
I want to know your opinion on the best headphones.
They can be wired, Bluetooth, but I personally like over-ear, open headphones the most.
Mic is preferred but not necessary.
Also, I wouldn't like genre specific headphones like Beats.
Thanks.

Hi guys,
I don't know yours music demands, or preferences. But for me as a audiophile is most important to have complete overall control of the sound behavior.
I was long time using Poweramp, but now I found Neutron. It is amazing how far you can go with sound control with on android.
Every detail is in your hand now!
So I just wonder what is your best music player. What you use to get best of your music. For which type of music.
Prodigy are very powerful with this.
I'm listening to dnb, dub-step (like the "real" one, not skrillex or another pop-step sh*t, so Deep bass, agressive, etc... ) and with Neutron I can take the sound to next level.
Really great app.
So tell me guys, what is best for you?

PowerAmp.
Each person has his ears.
Sounding of sound for every subjective.
I tried various music players like 20 of them since 3 years lol. I see that you are really into audio over music player UI. the beginning I used PowerAmp, 3 years after I'm still with it!! There's no other player with such easy interface and great audiophile features!

I've used PlayerPro for a long time, because it automatically download album arts, there are lyrics and good tag editor. Now, I'm using Poweramp. It has excellent audio quality and many options. It shows lyrics with musixmatch app, which automatically download them when playing music. But there is one thing: tag editor can only edit one song at the moment. I sometimes want to change tags of whole album and I have to make this on PC or use another app.

So I've had my One for 5 days now and tonight I was just looking at the back and noticed that part of the beats audio logo has rubbed off.. It looks pretty tacky now having half letters, and I imagine it will only get worse. It is only the red letters that have been affected so far.
It really doesn't scream quality and I am a bit disappointed. I guess at some stage I will just have to remove all of the letters so that it looks uniform..
Has anybody else had this problem?

Tethered to the note 2 in the pic. But now I only use it via Bluetooth connectivity. It's amazing how much full sound with bass comes from one small speaker. The sound really fills the room. It sounds really excellent with ambient and acoustic tracks, while it handles full range tracks wonderfully as well. Full volume, and you get no distortion or any hint you're at the speaker's limit. Set me back 63$ at the Sprint store. Box says it plays 5 hours off a charge.

I have the HTC ONE and as awesome as the built in stereo speakers sound, I'm sure they don't have the punch that speaker has. I think I'd have to go for stereo external speakers not just the one. But he's right, the point of the matter is "built in" stereo speakers... OP is just suggesting an alternative for those who care to give it a try.

My problem with the Flip is the pin charger. Stupidest design move for a portable device. Has left me high and dry a couple times, and I sold it. Great sound for its size though. It is their only portable model with a pin type charger. I'd get the Charge for the right price. Also read good reviews on Cambridge's Oontz. Similar design style as the Flip. Fairly cheap on amazon, more so if you buy three.

The dobly is actually system wide because instead of using LG audio effects, it uses the kernels dolby config. For those who want to really hear it, I recommend google play music. Open terminal and make sure its #

Just make sure your file is exactly like the screenshot. On the line that says "dolby" the stock will have something different. I cant recall at this time.

Thanks for the audio mod. I've also got viper enabled and working. Only on power amp though but your Dolby seems to be system wide and I believe it sounds better than viper does. It really makes your headphones/earbuds come alive. Now I'm not an Apple fan by no means but their earbuds are by far the best sounding I've heard. I'd put them against Dre Beats Tour earbuds any day. Those Dre's are only pricy for the name. But again thanks for the mod. Works great.

Im not sure but i think you have to manually enter the scripts on your phone if you cant flash the zip. Also make sure you have init.d support. It explains more on their thread.
