Look at the int.d files they may be over writing your settings at boot.
Vibrant 360° Productions
It would be more beneficial if you posted ICZ bugs in the forum where I actually host the rom, we have a ton of great minds over there that are more than willing to help.
That being said, what are you using to set the CPU values? If using the AOKP controls, yeah, they won't hold. Use NSTools, free from the market, and your values should stick.

If you are running an oc kernel try reverting back to an older one .If you are running setcpu or oc widget try raising the minimum freq. til it stops.

I tried running cm6.1, cm6.2, aospGBmod.2 and aosp9.9.2, all with the decafuct 691mhz capped kernal. Fail.
So I tried running aosp9.9.2 with the decafuct 768mhz kernal. Works amazingly. Thanks for the help man!

Yup, bumping up the min frequency will fix it
About that kernal, I don't know which one is default on aosp froyo 9.9.2 cause I flashed 768mhz decafuct right after I installed the rom :[

Nfinite's .2 stk rom,Decad3nce's Decafuct #589kernal 691mhz(you can use his 768 kernel) to get it to 768 you have to use his battery tweak,oc widget,or set cpu, latest radio .29 I believe.I strip all sprint bloat out,a2sd is enabled and set to zip-align apps on boot. I think thats it if I come up with more will edit this post.
Huge breakthrough. I'm running cm6.1 right now and using overclock widget and I figured out the fix for this is the cpu frequency update interval setting. If set for a long period of time, it doesn't seen to skip as much!

Great, glad to hear your Hero is rockin now!
i had this same problem when i switched to CM6.1 BlackMod it was really embarrassing when i had it hooked up to the Speakers at work and it kept skipping and a coworker had to plug up his VZW Droid.
quick fix was changing setCPU to Performance and not onDemand. i see you have your problem fixed just thought this would help anyone in the future.
Android Ver - 2.2.1
Baseband Ver - 2.42.02.10.29

I also have Collin_ph_battery_Tweak_v3_rc2 installed
Good one Thanks for jumpin in there with extra info
Im sorry if this is in the wrong section, but when overclocking my phone I notice that it tends to stay in the highest clock possible. If I have it at 1.2 its at 1.2 for 90% of the time. How can one fix this problem? Is it a kernal or voltage control problem?

Try disabling the perflock. That will allow your device to read the frequencies. The only thing is you have to disable the perflock everytime u reboot. But it will enable your custom profiles. I had the.exact same problem.
But as always you can download a kernel with the perflock permanently disabled. But if u like your current kernel, just disable the perflock inside Setcpu

What ROM and kernel are u using? If using a kernel like hardcore's speedmod, did u make sure u r flashing the Captivate version, and not the 9000 version.

Do captivates have this perflock? I never thought they did. The last I heard it was HTC phones that had this to be disabled. I have flashed quite some ROMs and kernels, and never had a necessity to even use SetCPU.
And to honest, I would recommend NOT to use set cpu on any captivate with 2.2 or higher rom/kernel. That tends to mess up the phone.
Im gonna be using phoenix 4.5 once it finishes downloading... but as of now, im on 4.1 and with setirons kernal1.5.6

Hi. I'm new to here.
I have rooted my Gnote, and i dont know wether it is a full root or what.
For maximizing my battery, i underclocked my Gnote by setting max CPU freq to 800 MHz or 1 GHz using SetCPU.
But.. according to the CPU history using No-Frills app, it written there it is still clocked to 1400 Mhz and 1200 MHz sometimes.
Is this a rom problem? Or kernel ?
Btw i'm using stock and SpeedMod k3-3 kernel.

sometimes setcpu seems to not wanna start after a reboot so I really recommend you start the app and see everything is well in the app and see from there that your cpu frequency does not exceed the selected value. Otherwise I recommend using voltage control. I'm using it on speed mod and all is good for me.
Cheers.

Open super user and double check that its been granted permission. If so open your file manager and make sure you can access the data folder in root and set rw priveledges, make sure you have full root.

Gotcha. Ok did you set permissions on the ko files and put the init script in init.d folder and reboot? There is also the possibility that there has been a kernel change to .232 Which I'm using in the area of the cpu driver. Just make sure you did the steps above and go from there.
48656C70206D6521
You also try to manually insmod the modules using terminal.
Obviously don't use the quotations.
Type "su" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/symsearch.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_interactiveX.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_hotplugX.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_smartass2.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_pegasusq.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/sio-iosched.ko" enter

After a ton of noodling, I got it to work. I switched from .230 to .232 and it still did not work. So I tried 2 more things: 1) I used script manager to run at boot and use superuser, then 2) changed permission of the 90modules file to r-x-r-x-r-x, and rebooted. Fully working now.

hi all...i need ur help....after i have flashed Team Venom ViperVIVO 1.1.0 rom into my phone using cwm everything is fine...but i need to overlock my phone so that it can run faster so i have decided to flash redux kernal 0.8 directly into the phone using cwm...but after i have rebooted i dont know where to adjust the overclock speed...it is just like i have done nothing to my phone after i have flashed the redux kernal inside...anyone can help me out? thanks a lot
Download Trickster Mod app from play Store.
Using your favorite cpu tuner (mines setcpu but you can use something like antutu just search play store for cpu) set max to 1600 and min to 360 than put a screen off profile at 360 and 240 (values are approximate). Once done DO NOT check "set on boot" as incompatible setting can put you in a boot loop.

Did you press menu and set on boot?

Press menu within the app and the first option is set on boot.
Forgot to mention if your on a post gingerbread rom, you can set on boot however being on gb and running cm7 I opt out, rarely seems to be a problem as my phone is almost never powered off.
