Hey,
I tried flashing a rom onto my SGS but long story short into the process I messed it up and it wouldn't work.
I then accidently flashed an optus rom I had downloaded from samfirmware.com soon after I was unable to make calls/text/use internet.
I took it to Telstra and they said I needed to get the optus firmware off and put Telstra Firmware on if this is true I've looked everywhere used search functions etc and still cannot find the firmware.
Could someone please link me it most of the links are megaupload or expired. I installed a customrom (darkys) successfully thinking it would fix my problem however it did not I've checked the apn settings and my imei both are correct also another weird thing is when I search network operators I only get Vodafone and optus no Telstra I wonder what could be the cause to my problem? It would be appreciated if someone can link me to a download of a Telstra Samsung Galaxy gT i9000 stock rom as I cannot find one on samfirmware thx or link me via samfirmware if there is one
EDIT: forgot to say its not the sim I tested it already on another Galaxy S phone

Hi everybody,
yesterday I flashed my phone with the original rom it was shipped and now the sim card does not work. The phone was network locked and I'm afraid that now it does not recognize any rom because of this.
I tried to do the procedure of simlock by rooting the phone but no codes appear after I launch sgux in the file.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

it could well be that your sim is dead if you left it in the phone while flashing. happened to me and it was quite weird, i could make and receive calls and messages, but 3g was dead. the guys at the 3 shop were quite amused as they have not seen anything like it before. anyway, try the sim in another phone, see if that works. ultimately flash to an unbranded rom and try a different sim on your phone.

You say you have the original shipped rom .
If thats the case just flash that back if it truly is the original shipped rom .
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Darky rom problems as usual ask the chief suspect .Its probable you did not flash correct CSC file for your network .

Are you trying to go back to factory firmware? If so I believe you can find that here
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1541361
If you simply just want to trick KIES into believing you are using STOCK firmware then you could try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835628
Please let me know if this has helped you out

Did you try samfirmware?
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
Create an account.
The registry hack didn't work???? I would talk about that in the thread as it should be fine.
yea the registry hack should've worked
nah the hack didnt work and yes i am a member of samfirmware and i have tried most of the firmwares on there xxjpa, xxjpo, xxjpk etc.. but i want the original firmware my phone come with soo i can update to offical also my product code is KOR which would be stoping me from upgrading
ok the hack worked im now on DTJP3 froyo offical upgraded through kies but my product code is still KOR :S i want it to be XSA VIRGIN any help please??
thnx
this KOR CSC is really a pain in the butt. I should start asking for a donation to whoever made KOR the default when people flash different firmwares
READ CAREFULLY and follow the AUTOMATIC method in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787163
Don't forget to download and save the file you will download on the path specified in the thread before you do the method step-by-step.
NOTE: this will do a factory reset of your phone so PLEASE back up all apps using Titanium back-up and BACK UP YOUR EFS folder.
So I've just inherited a bricked (black screen of death) galaxy s that was bought from 3 Australia (as far as I can tell its not sim locked cause they were using it with vodafone). It doesn't have the 3 combo to get into download mode but I've found the usb jig so that should hopefully help me get back into download mode. I am just wondering what the best firmware i should flash with odin once I get back into download mode.

Eclair 2.1 JM9, from there I would go with a 2.2.1 custom ROM in the dev section.

I can vouch for the above recomendation. it is exactly what i did to unbrick my sgs.
Do I get it from the forums or from samsung?
did a very quick google check but didnt find anything with download, so if you could point me in the right direction that would be great!
from samsung here

sorry not sure which f/w you are looking for jm9 is not there but jm8 is .. and that is a full f/w
also can try the new canadian jl2... it is supposed to be great at unbricking phones.

Jm8 has always been my fix firmware for some of my stupid attempts at customization always does the trick on unbranded virgin sgs Australia.

Thanks for you help guys, I found JM9 a little below JM8 so I'll give it a try first its also a full f/w.
While I have your attention! Does anyone recommend a custom rom? I am currently using cyanogenmod on my nex1 and will probably use it on sgs if there are no other recommendations.
any one help me. my phone after flash XXJPU, it die.
my phone don't received sdcard ( internal ) and i try flash some other Rom but still not work (
Just thought I'd let you know (and any other aussie who has this problem) that I managed to get it working using the usb jig and JM8 from the link above and the CSC from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847765 (sorry can't post urls yet), however I had to use the re-partition option in odin for it to work after reboot. I'm now happily setting it up after flashing darky's rom.
Thanks to everyone that helped.
Hi everyone,
This is my first time and I am wondering if someone can help. I have tried everything and nothings far.
I have SG SII few weeks ago someone mentioned that ICS was out so I googled it and followed the instructions which installed i9100xxKP8 4.0.3 version and at the first start the phone does not recognise any SIM card you put. I know I made the mistake not noted down the original firmware number etc.. But I am stuck I can't use Kies to upgrade to the proper O2 upgrade which is out.
Any help would be appreciate it before I bin this lovely phone .
Thank you
Wessam
Firstly this is the wrong forum this forum is for the Samsung Galaxy S (Not SII/2).
Luckily this is not a phone specific thing all that much.
To get your stock rom go to sammobile.com. Find the firmware that best matches your situation, i.e. country and provider. There are also downloadable instructions. Another thing you could do is go to your correct forum and look for the correct firmware.
To be clear all you have to do is install the stock firmware and your phone should be recognised by Kies. If this doesn't happen then you may have to make another post in the correct thread. A fix you could try (not sure this will work on S2) is type *#262*your imei# and select the correct csc code (Changing the code will reboot your phone and perform a factory reset). Also find this on the sammobile.com website, i think letter codes or something.
Hi please can someone give me step by step instructions how to fix galaxy s i9000 as im new to android phones thats why mine is screwed.I purchased it cheap from someone as they thought it was blocked as when sim card was inserted couldnt find any network connection,I did brief investigation and found it wasnt blocked after checking with mates phone his was running Gingerbread my sim connected OK so I presumed there was a fault on mine which was running Froyo 2.2. After bit of research found a program called Odin which I installed which must have been the wrong .tar file,so now the only thing that shows on screen is in downloading mode and it still shows up in Odin program. Please help with simple instructions on how to fix do I need to replace with stock firmware if so how and where to get files. Many thanks in advance
Download firmware from http://www.sammobile.com
Select phone model and county and then download the firmware you want.
Guides are also there. If you need any other help , feel free to ask
If my post helped, don't mind hitting THANKS
