I unlocked my phone today using the bml5 method. I have read that if you flash another rom it will be locked again. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Unlocked phones stay unlocked, locked phones stay locked.
Doesn't matter what rom you flash.
Thanks for the reply, I just wanted to be sure before I flashed CM back on.

I unlocked my phone while it was on 2.2 using glaxy s unlock app from market. The other day i flashed ICSSGS RC4.1 rom and it changed my IMEI. Is my phone still unlocked?? I checked the rom's zip file and it doesnt contain efs folder which should mean that it didnt overwrite efs folder that contains unlock data. So my phone shouldnt be relocked right (i hope not because i need to use it in Europe in couple weeks ) ???
I'm interested in the answer to this as well. I unlocked mine whilst in gingerbread....but now that i have upgraded to ICS....is my phone still unlocked? I don't think my IMEI changed though....
I unlocked mine in froyo and its still unlocked..I am on ICS now....
i flashed ics and had to "re unlockb

Typically, once unlocked, always unlocked.

Interesting. I unlocked mine in GB and updated to ICS over the weekend. Wanting to order up a straight talk sim and try it. I did verify that my IMEI matches what it is supposed to be. Hopefully it remains unlocked. I guess worse case is I have to drop back to 2.3.
Have yet to find a *# combo that will show you the lock status in ICS.
Did it change your IMEI back to 04999...whatever. If so, flash again because that is the default IMEI, mine did that before and I just reflashed from a stock oneclick. I think it somehow doesn't read the IMEI correctly sometimes. You might try one clicking back to GB(without bootloaders if you've already got them) and then diagnose from there.
Whenever I flash back to stock using odin, it relocks. But I have my code handy.
I ordered and installed a Straight Talk 'AT&T' sim this week. Everything is working as it should. I did check the hex code and the unlock bit was set, however, I have heard that the ST sim cards are unlocked so you don't necessarily need an unlocked phone. It doesn't really verify that I'm still unlocked, but I thought I would mention that in my case, I had no problems.
Hi,
I've a UK HTC One with unlocked bootloader, root enabled and custom recovery.
Is it there a package to flash on the actual firmware to update to the .12 version, without relocking bootloader (and so wiping all my content)?
Thank you!
yes there is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245615
Thank you,
but I wanted to flash the whole firmware, and not only the radio.
Then flash a custom ROM... They are all on the .13 base.

What if I don't want a custom firmware, but I just want to keep the stock firmware (with root permission and custom recovery)? Thank you very much
I'd be interested in this too as I foolishly unlocked mine and realised I don't even need it unlocked at all and just want stock with updates lol
relock will not wipe your data
relock and then unlock will !!
Is it possible to make the status " LOCKED" in stead of " RELOCKED" in case i want to send it back for warranty ?
Nope, need S-off for it to say locked again. Should not matter in Europe though for warranty.

Well.I just got a used.Sony z
I.rooted. Via.one click. And installed twrp with the apk.
My question is can we flash roms without no issues even with a lock bootloader on this device seeing as I opted out to flash recovery with the locked bootloader and if that's not the case how do I find out if my bootloader is unlockable version

If you are locked, you just need to flash roms flashable zips via recovery. Look for "LB", which stands for Locked Bootloader, threads under the Development section, and you'll find compatible software with your unlocked device.
If your device is from a carrier, chances are you are locked with no way to unlock. If your device number is C6606, you are not able to unlock, no matter what.

If your bootloader is locked and you can't unlock it you can still flash roms but only those bases on stock. The problem with the locked bootloader is that you can't install a kernel that isn't signed by Sony. So no CyanogenMod and derivatives.

Hey all,
I've been using my Xperia T on the Rogers network here in Canada for a couple months and wanted to throw a custom rom on it.
After doing some research unfortunately it is Not possible to unlock my bootloader. There is also no way to boot into "Recovery Mode" which I assume has something to do with the locked bootloader.
I've noticed that you can downgrade to .303 but those roms look like they are for LT30p. Will they work with my LT30a?
I was hoping to get a version of CM on my phone. Is it even possible? I've read that maybe I can load certain roms but will be unable to modify the kernel? Will that work ok?
Thanks for you time!

if you are willing to go for CM then the answer is NO. you need to have a BL unlocked device with you. did you check with http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com ? and your mobile as well to confirm whether it is unlock-able or not. Check Here ..
but even with a locked BL you can install custom ROMs to spice your device. there are some ROMs which are specifically designed to be used with locked BLs.. that means they will run on Stock Kernel with customer ROMs.. .. for my LT30at (BL locked) i'm using a custom ROM
Yes it is indeed locked and cannot be unlocked. There's one Rom for my device I saw but it looked dated.
Rom suggestions for a locked bootloader?

You should be able to use any of the custom ROMs in the development section for locked bootloaders. I have an LT30at and I have used all of the ones in there at different times.

The link in my signature may be of use to you
you CAN boot into recovery mode but you have to install it first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012738&highlight=cwm
to install it you must first root your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
rooting may not work for your current up to date rom
so you may have to flash an older rom first (I found one in bin4rys signature) http://uploaded.net/f/bd4cif

So I made it as far as rooting the phone, installing a version of CWM for locked bootladers. But after tying to install two different ROMS for locked bootloaders they both put me into a SONY boot loop that seemed like it would never end.

ok did you go through the CWM menu and wipe the system, data, dalvik cache and so on... before you flashed the rom?
It often takes allot longer to boot up for the first time but no more than... id say 5 minuets if that

Wiped everything etc. Just does the Sony logo. Then goes blank, vibrates once then repeated forever.

The next one I did was

The both put me in a Boot spiral.
My phone is s-off with unlocked bootloader. I was going to trade so I was in the process of restoring to stock, when my potential trader changed his mind. I relocked the bootloader. But am still s-off with custom recovery. Can I still flash roms with a locked bootloader, or do I have to unlock it again?

you can still flash roms, if you have your original code_bin you can reuse it, but it will wipe the phone when you unlock again
