Yes. Me too got this strange problem. I have re-flashed the xcs kernel again. Now it's detecting as AC. But, the actual voltage is less than normal.
Usually, the output from charger is ~800mA but now I'm getting jus 550-650mA..
Thought of going back to some other kernel..

Charging problem.

Sometimes when I plug my captivate into the wall charger, my captivate thunks that its a computer so it says USB connected and USB debugging.
Then I would unplug and then plug again and it would work normal.
This started to annoy me so is there a fix to this problem? Btw I'm running darky 9.2.

Try flashing a different kernel, see if it changes anything.
Remember to backup just in case

Is it the factory charger?
Usually its output related.... cause USB typically puts out 500-550ma and the wall charger I believe is 700-750ma.

[Q] USB Problem

When i connect my phone to the charger it goes on and recognizes it (although it doesnt charge, i already knew that), but when i connect it to my pc it doesnt turn on (my battery is very empty), i thought it charges the phone a little when connected to a pc? I want it because i wanna use SFT? How come that my phone can go in S/W mode when on the charger and not when connected to my pc?

Try pulling the battery out and putting it back and try again. I had this happen once and I think that's how I got it going.

Is your charger pooched? If not have you let it charge for awhile to see if it starts to charge?

Charging problem

My phone has developed a new problem. When I connect it to the charger it fluctuates between charging and not. I tried changing the USB cable. Even with USB charging. Same problem. Has anybody else had a similar issue? What could be the problem the adaptor or the battery?
I'm using this ROM and Kowalski Kernel.
Edit: It doesn't happen with the phone is turned off. It charges normally then.
This happened to me on stock gb
Btw which bootloader are you on?

[Q] Continue charging after reboot?

Hello!
This is something that always bugged me since I got this phone, but I don't know if its just me, or is it Samsung related.
After connecting the charger and phone starts charging, if I reboot it, the phone turns back on without continuing charging.
I have tried this multiple times. I also tried starting to charge when phone is off then turning it on - same symptom, phone doesn't continue charging.
Of course if I disconnect and reconnect the charge continues.
I am using CoCore 5.6.2 + Pure Vanilla Rom (JB LQB).
So, is this a Samsung bug, or is it something on my part?
Thanks...

Is there any fix for this? app? script?
As of yet... no.
I never faced such a bug. If you want to troubleshoot, get a dmesg
I do not respond to tech support via PM

Hey shaan,
Isn't a dmesg just after a kernel crash?
How can I get it?
Code:
su dmesg >/mnt/sdcard/dmesg.txt
Edit:
Attached to this message is my dmesg.
I connected the power cable, made a reset and printed out the above dmesg.

It's there a way for me to decrypt what the dmesg output means?

So I seem to have found a certain scenario where I do get the charge.
My Samsung charger is a 500 mah. When my phone was connected to my car charger which is a 1000 mah and I did a reboot, this time they phone kept charging.
So anyone why this is? Fixable?

Sadly no.
As I said I found that with my car charger of 1A the phone continues to charge after reboot.
Since I don't have a 1A wall charger, I couldn't test my theory.
All I do now, is pray that the phone doesn't reboot while I'm aslep or otherwise my alarm might not go off
Don't know why this happens, and apparently no one knows

Help: Not charging

My model is F8132, 39.2.A.0.374.
Now the charging problem is driving me crazy: it's not charging with any wall charger. More precisely:
1. When power-on and connected to wall charger, NOTHING happens.
2. When power-off and connected to wall charger, red light pops out for a second and disappears, "SONY" pops out for seconds, and then the battery sign comes out WITHOUT charging.
3. The phone IS charging when connected to the computer in any case.
4. In fastboot mode when connected to the wall charger, IT'S charging.
I have to tried to use the Companion to repair, and to use flashtool to flash the firm that I have been using, both don't work. I have not unlocked the bootloader, or rooted the phone.
To my knowledge, it seems that the kernel is not working well when it is supposed to recognise the wall charger, but I hesitate to flash a rooted kernel since I never do anything crazy.
Please tell me what to do! GREAT THANKS!
I have some problems charging my Xperia X depending on the cable I use (I have a few different micro USB cables from old phones) . Did you try a different cable?

Cable and chargers are absolutely in great conditions. I have tried a bunch of them.

Not yet. But why should it work? I have flashed the same firmware, the ROM should be absolutely rewritten, and if the kernel is not completely renewed, why should it be renewed when I flash other versions?
So now I have two conjectures, one is that the kernel is hurt which will not be completely rewritten when we flash the device in usual ways, the other is that something is hurt beneath the kernel level.
But anyway, I'm not an IT guy, and I really need experts now.

If there are some blocks of the storage where the kernel is that are not completed rewritten and/or that are damage, it is very weird or lucky for you that you can still boot and it messed only with that very specific part for charging, and not some other part.

So if you can still boot I would discard that the kernel is damaged... It might be some weird bug with your very specific phone and that very specific kernel, so to rule that out you need to change change the kernel flashing another firmware version, and with a different kernel if it is still not charging, then I would say it is something other than the kernel, maybe some specific hardware part with some code inside that helps charging the phone. If it is hardware related you would need to take to sony.
Bur as I said, it seems software related as you can charge with a computer.

I have the same problem, x peria xp SOV33 cannot fill properly and very long when the phone is active, it doesn't even charge when the cellphone turns off.
I can not get into flash & quick boot mode.
replacing a similar charger cable and adapter does not help at all.
after a few days I made my own charger cable.
combining usb cable with utp cable. (I mean making a single cable charger, not a fiber).
I'm connected to the fast charging adapter version.
and this works.
but the problem is the device can not enter flashmode & fastboot.
I do not guarantee how this will work for all.
the risk of hardware damage is borne by each
sorry my english is very bad

Hi, I have a Sony Xperia X compact that has suddenly stopped charging using either the dedicated wall charger. It will charge using my external battery pack, but when it is plugged into the wall charger it will not charge. At first I assumed it was the charger itself, as the micro USB cable was obviously working with my battery pack. The charger I bought was also a genuine Sony one, but this didn't work either, so both this and the original one was used on my husband’s Nokia Lumina 520 which also has a micro USB port for charging and it charges that fine. I then got another micro USB lead and that didn't work either, so I tried my husband’s charger on my phone and again, no charging activity.
It's a weird one, as I don’t understand why it won’t recognise a wall charger but is fine with my batter pack and of not it doesn’t recognise a computer either.
