[Q] [i9001] EHNDROIX problem - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I flashed EHNDROIX 12.9.11 and former releases without any problems.
Since the 12.9.16 after the correct flashing with every wipe that's recommended by the Dev, the system freezes. Actually it freezes during or while connecting to my Google account. If I skip the login and don't use the play store, everything works perfect for me.
Any suggestions?

Had no time to try it and the new update works like it should. Thanks.

Try to install 12.9.24 .. it's very stable, smooth and has low battery drain.

[Q] Insufficient space on device. Can't install any app

Hi fellow blackers,
My optimus black was on Nova Rom 2.2 v8:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161015
And I flashed it to v20n:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441901
I followed the instructions specifically these two before proceeding with the zip install.
1. Wipe Data/Cache (if not wiped, might cause problem)
2. Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache (same as data/cache, might cause problem)
After flashing, I can't seem to install any app from Market. It says that I have insufficient space on device.
So did some searching (google and here on XDA):
Here are their suggestions:
1. Install Marketfix - unfortunately, I can't install this because it is already saying I have insufficient space.
2. Clear market cache - after clearing (cache and data), I still says insufficient space
3. Uninstall market update - Going to settings - Application - manage application then selecting Market, I don't see any uninstall button. Just Force close, cancel and clear cache, clear data..
4. Finally I saw knzo's supposedly fix for this: Something to do with file system (nova is on EXT4 while stock is on EXT3)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212370&highlight=insufficient
I wasn't able to try option 1 because the file was removed on all file sharing sites.
Options 2 and 3 - restore factory settings isn't working. The phone is not doing anything after I click Erase everything. It just hangs
Any other suggestions?
Try reflash ROM with wipe all data and cache in CWM including dalvik cash and formating partitions in "mounts&storage".
Or this!
Try wipe cache and dalvik cache...worked for me
hmm pardon me, but how do I boot into recovery? I tried powering the device on while holding volume down (also tried up and G button) but it didnt reboot into recovery.

Since I can;t install anything (rom manager etc.), I think I needed to do what you advised.
I was able to flash the stock then started up from there

dalvik wont wipe your phone it wipes the main cache that apps run from.
if your rooted best option would be to clean dalvik from recovery and reboot. it will take alot longer to boot, once booted i would suggest using rom manager and fix permissions. then allow it to reboot, if not reboot it yourself and it should sort its self out

Official MIUI 2.12.29 rebooting into recovery

Hi
I recently downloaded 2.12.29 Official MIUI ROM from http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/2-12-28-29.19143/
However, after flashing, when I reboot the phone, the phone stucks at HTC white screen for a couple of minutes and then reboots into recovery..
The only strange stdout I see during installation is :
>> format system
>> do not formate system
Has anyone come across such issues.. are there any known workarounds..
Help appreciated..
EDIT: I follow the following steps for flashing:
1. Factory reset
2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe dalvik cache
4. format system
5. install ROM
6. wipe cache
7. wipe dalvik cache
8. flash boot.img
>> 6,7 because I read on one of the MIUI forums that if the ROM is flashed on a phone already running an MIUI then these steps are required..
Looks like issue is resolved after following the documentation at: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/how-to-update-upgrade-miui.15424/

Setup wizard has stopped

After doing a clean install on androidarmv6's cm 11 RC9 build, I reach the setup screen and choose my language, then setup wizard crashes. I try it before and after flashing gapps, but it crashes either way.
No need to worry!! If u don't know, let me tell u that setup wizard only helps u to set language, time&date, ur email account, etc. If it force closes, then u can set these from phone settings.

Thank you, that list fixed my phone. :good:
In previous attempts I had done everything apart from mount and storage->format system. (Old CM11 install broke and needed to reinstall.) Following your list worked.

Steps to do clean flash

1.Reboot to recovery
2.Wipe>advance wipe> select
a.dalvik cache
b.System
c.Vendor
d.Data
e.Cache
And swipe
3.Install>select ROM.zip
If rom does not have gapps then:-
Tap add more zip
Select gapps(Pico/Nano)
Install
6.Wipe dalvik cache and cache
7.Reboot system
ENJOY!
*NOTES*
1.Formatting data is not necessary everytime but if you face any problem like after rebooting you were asked for password then do a format data and reboot.
2.You can use latest TWRP but if facing problem then you can use the recommended TWRP released on 22/04/2020.
3.If you still facing any issue then you can ask freely by replying this post.
