This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) this code is showing after doing above
thx anyway
can you re-install KIES then try again
Uninstall the drivers and reinstall them. You can do that by uninstalling kies and reinstalling it.
Also The lines are because you used the FROYO bootloader patch on the GINGERBREAD ROM. In the guides we warned against that. DO NOT TOUCH THE BOOTLOADERS unless you want to end in a bad hard brick god forbid.

You will have to start from the beginning by flashing the stock safe gingerbread. Don't apply the bootloader patch this time. The unsigned bootloader is ok.

Yes but how to flash stock if my Tab is not recognized by PC and ODIN ?
Uninstalled and installed 2 times KIES, nothing
I was having the same problem. The odin 1.3V7 was recognized on downloading mode only.
I flashed the new OVERCOME HERMES with wipe option and every thing went perfect.
My TAB now looks much better than the initial SAMSUNG ROM.
Just follow strictly the instructions.
Hi, i'm noob in Galaxy Flashing so this is my problem:
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 blocked from italian carrier.
Few times ago i tried to enable 3-buttons download/recovery mode installing Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5 with Odin. The installation finished successfully but the download/recovery mode still didn't work.
After some reboots (where the phone worked right), now the phone stucks in the boot screen (the one with Galaxy S GT-I9000 SAMSUNG).
With the JIG i can enter download mode but my computer can't detect the phone (Windows feels my USB connection but Odin does not detect it).
If i connect the phone to the computer in normal mode (not in download mode, so with stuck screen), Kies can detect the phone but says that it can't talk with phone in this way(like if it was in USB Debug mode).
I Hope someone can help me
Restart your computer>>>Go to task manager and close all Kies applications (I usually have 2 Kies running from startup)>>>Start Odin and select all the files>>>Put your phone into download mode and connect>>>It should be detected now.
If it is still not detected, close odin, disconnect phone. Start Kies go to tools and install drivers. Once this is complete. Close Kies and start from the top of this post...restart...
Solution Is HEIMDALL.....
Here Comes your solution:
You can easily back your phone with Heimdall.
It's a flashtool which is more complicated than ODIN.
If interesting, simply PM me and we will do it.
I'm Here...
Well,first go to here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265
Second: Download 7-zip PC software & extract your official md5 firmware to obtain several other files.
Third:Search the web for a Heimdall How-To(if you didn't find,I'll provide You links)
Last:You'll flash the firmware via Heimdall & again your peace of mind will be back.
Try to reflash your phone normaly with another Rom, it should work

Sorry, your advice didn't work, Odin still doesn't detect the phone
Try to change the USB port and install ONLY the phone driver -if you don't find you can contact me.

he said download mode works but odin cant detect the phone .
Try reinstalling the samsung usb drivers and/or try from another pc and see if it shows the same thing (meaning nothing) .
Hi,
sorry but i tried all the ways, Odin and Heimdall.
I tried Odin on Windows and Heimdall on MacOSX but always they say
"Failed to detect compatible download-mode device."
I'm sure that phone is in download mode
May i install drivers on OSX with Heimdall?
I have not original samsung USB cable, but i think this is not a problem
Rooted my GT-I9000, and now it has crashed!
First off all my Galaxy I9000 was trying to software update via Kies, and it failed. The it would not start, but i managde to root it with a stock "VOD" rom.. But after a while i wantet to root it back to "Nordic Version"... But i could not do this, because the 3 button combo dont work on my Galaxy I9000 anymore.. :/ So there for i baought a USB JTAG, that puts it into download mode. So far, So good But when it is finished rooting, it fails to mount/unmount a bunch of stuff.. I have a picture of the screen, so that you guys can se what the problem is. I have tryed to root it with the same version that worked before, but it dont work. I have also tryed with som pit files, and so on... I give up, i need help with my Samsung Galaxy S - GT-i9000. Please help me out with this..
Getting Hopeless...?
1)For you to become sure,my Galaxy S Aka I9000 was exactly the same as yours and right now there is nothing wrong with that of course after flashing by HEIMDALL.
2)Remember,if your are going to do anything,Your first and your last key,is your HOPE so be so hopeful and let's start to get over this.
3)Download I9000 USB driver from here and simply install it on WINDOWS OS.
http://hotfile.com/dl/48893334/93383a1/I9000_USB_driver.rar.html
4)Before Using Heimdall, Enter it's folder and you'll see another sub folder called driver and you'll see just ONE executable program, run it and follow these instructions:
(I'll Shortly Provide You A How-to)
5)Enter Heimdall and follow these instructions:

generally no, but I recommend strongly to try another micro USB-Cable & another USB Port!
No one of these method does work for me,
any suggest?? my main problem is that the pc does not detect the phone when it's in download-mode. I know how to flash it, but there is not a program that can talk with it!

Look in MY Android Solutions about fixing USB connections, as for flashing without using PC, you must first root your phone
1) Use Framaroot app to root phone ( Look in My Android Collections for link under rooting)
2) Download Mobile Odin or Flashfy from google play store to flash CWM or use ROM Manger to get CWM
3) with CWM recovery on your phone you can flash from your SD card any ICS or JB ROM
this is how I flashed mine without computer... if your not on official gingerbread 2.3.6 flash that first with mobile ODIN (search here) www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ then follow my guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368518 goodluck
Another thing that i didn't mentioned is that i dont have access to my phone beacause it's locked.
A kid took the phone in his hands and tried the lock pattern wrong too many times and now it's locked and i dont have the gmail in order to unlock it...
So i tried to wipe cache and all those things from recovery mode but at the end it restarts again locked...
So i dont have access to the computer because of the broken USB and i dont have access to the phone because its locked...
Is ther any way to unlock it or flash it ?/

The thing is you are still using JM1 ( BTW its hard to come by JM1 these days some people are searching for it like crazy) JM1 will not have recovery & download mode by combo keys, untill you fix it by flashing combo keys or by attaching it to KIES and updating it to Gingerbread .
To update the combo keys you need to flash the combo keys fix from here Look under recover recovery for it, If , I believe it may be difficult for you, use KIES to update your phone to ginger bread first.
If you cannot connect to KIES look here , it will give you step by step procedure to solve all problems

Edit: Odin will not work with JM1, untill you can get download mode, so you need to use USB JIG ( will give you download mode), than you can use Odin, so use only KIES, download from Samsung, if you don't have it yet.
First Step :-
1) Check phone USB slot for contacts/connection problems
Some get misaligned others gets damaged internally, and others somehow moved and needed a nudge to connect, so clean them, just to be sure. Follow this guide
How to clean micro USB port
How to fix looseness.
Cleaning the USB slot and contacts will surely help as the Galaxy S model USB slot is prone to moisture as well as dirt retention, where users have complained about failure to charge or overheating when charging in colder regions. So a blow dryer may do wonders at times like this
Even IF your USB cable can charge the phone, data connection contacts could have been lost due to internal pin damage as I have personally experienced it , not to forget misaligned pins on the micro B slot itself experienced by others.
2) If phone is not being detected of a sudden (Quick Guide)
1. Reboot PC after a power cord pull and Reboot Phone after a Battery Pull , try USB connection
2. Try using a different Samsung USB cable (must be sumsung and nothing else)
3. Try a different USB port (use USB slots at the back of PC)
4. Try on a lap top or different PC
5. Try install nexus drivers - needed for ICS firmwares
6. Make sure you don't have fast charge on.
7. Try moving the USB plug slightly, sideway or back and front, whilst connected to PC
8. Toggle WIFI and OFF it , reboot phone, check connection
Trick
1. Turn ON Bluetooth with "make my device discoverable" checked
2. Connect the USB cable from the computer to the phone
3. you will get this message: " if you elect to use USB your Bluetooth connection will be interrupted - OK?"
4. Touch OK and connection problem is solved
3) Re Install the Samsung USB Driver or according to your manufacturer Drivers Android USB Drivers - Universal Installer or other Devices download from here or Android OEM Drivers here
Changes of ROM, also have configuration changes on the phone, (just like changes in combo key functions) ...so driver changes works for some
Trick Putting your Phone into download mode and connecting it with USB cable to PC will do it automatically. Meaning drivers will be installed by windows If there are none.

maybe its possible as JM1 is the first ROM for your phone and did not include even the recovery/download mode key functions, so either buy a USB JIG ( about a dollar or two) in ebay to enter download mode and use Odin3 or install KIES in your PC ( can download free from Samsung, just google Samsung KIES) to use Samsung KIES phone manager.
I am not sure if the latest KIES will work ( connect) with your (ancient) firmware, if not you need to download an earliest version of KIES to connect with a JM1 firmware.
so only two options, since you won't know how to use other methods to flash a combo key fix to get download mode.

Hi everyone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab (GT - P1000) that I rooted about a year ago. I've installed the 4.4.2 KitKat ROM (CyanogenMod 11) using CWM Recovery, and I now want to reinstall Gingerbread on the tab (due to performance issues).
The problem is, my PC (HP EliteBook 8460p, Win7) gives a 'USB Device Not Recognized' error in all the USB ports I connect the tab to. I've tried connecting it to a different computer, with the same results. I've used Odin to flash the stock Gingerbread ROM onto the tab before, but now Odin simply won't detect the tab when it's connected to the PC (ID:COM port does not turn yellow). I tried Mobile Odin, but it put up the error 'Unexpected Partition Layout, cannot operate'.
I've searched numerous places, but cannot find a ZIP version of the stock ROM (or any custom ROM close to it) that I could flash with CWM; the only option seems to be Odin, which is not working.
So how do I get back to the original Gingerbread ROM?
Thanks in advance.
