Okay, I unlocked my Razr M and then found I was stuck with the ugly nag screen. So I set about to fix that. It turns our the fix is extremely simple and not very creative.
The original Logo.bin is actually a 1.7 MB file which is two images in one file. When you are locked the device reads the top portion of the image only and thus the M is shown, when you unlock the device it selects the bottom image in place of the M thus displaying the nag screen.
The solution is very simple. Create your own image or use the stock one provided below.
The image needs to be 540 x 540 and in linux (gimp) save your image as a raw file and that is all you need to do. When finished with your image just flash to your device using the following command
fastboot flash logo (logoname.img)
File can be downloaded here ----> http://aosp.us/?p=260
That is all you need and you are all done.

photoshop has built-in support for the .raw image extension, but gimp doesn't. how do you export an image with .raw extension in gimp then?
What did you use to unlock it?

no kidding. there is ufraw, which lets you import .raw, but nothing i've found to enable exporting .raw.
What do you win by unlocking it?

Hello,
I would like to know if there is a way to extract the logo from original logo file in the OTA zip ?
The RAZR HD logo il a little bigger than this one, I would like to do the same.
Your file works on my phone, but too small.
Thank you
You can find in attachement the real size extracted from bootanimation.zip
Thank you for your help
I did it myself finally with photoshop.
Here is in attachement
Thank you
Is there a way to change the boot logo on the retail edition, having a locked bootloader? I know it was possible on the Droid x, bionic, and a few other moto devices, which makes me hope that its possible...
I don't think it is possible... the files are signed for locked bootloaders...
You can try, it will probably refuse to flash it.
Gave it a go and worked like a charm on the retail version...I'm loving it!
Has anyone tried this on their retail version, now that we can unlock? I hate that warning screen, and don't have the guts to try.
Edit: Nevermind it looks like some have tried with the retail version already before we could unlock anyway. Duh

what are you editing the file with? if you are editing the file with notepad then it will not work.
I use notepad to make my desc.txt and it works fine...
I can't tell why this wouldn't be working... looks like everything is set up correctly.

good day.
Some quick splashes I made, you have to have ENG S-OFF to put it into your phone. Get phone into bootloader fastboot, and run commands: (googlesplash.img has to be in the same folder as fastboot.exe)
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splashname.img
fastboot reboot

It was made for motorola Defy but if you want your device to be supported, please help me with the list bellow:
I need some information from your device:
1) Screen resolution (Defy is 854x480)
2) Splash resolution (Defy is 480x182)
3) Splash partition (Defy is /dev/block/mmcblk1p10)
4) A dump of the splash partition:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/SPLASH_PARTITION of=/sdcard/SPLASH_PARTITION.dump
Change SPLASH_PARTITION with the actual splash partition of your device.
Zip the dump file and post here.
5) The build.prop file
I need to know it in order to add supporte for a device.
Thanks in advance.

The apk says I have an Unsupported device, maybe because I'm using a

the model changes to motorola ME722 but it's the same phone.
¿Could you fix it?

Hello
So I paid the service tech at Chandigarh rs. 5000 to get my camera fixed.
The camera is near perfect now except when I look at white backgrounds there is a slight hue of green present.
The tech said that because my bootloader is unlocked and s-off he wasn't able to callibrate the phone correctly.
Can someone please tell me what to do?

replace the camera auto white calibration file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744757
you need an /system writable kernel otherwise the file must be replaced at each reboot.

I have a couple of questions;
1) Does elementalX allow me to do this?
2) Is this procedure permanent? I mean can I make a backup of the original file and replace it if it doesn't work out

yes and no. If you keep using the same rom and you are using a writable /system kernel then yes. If you change your rom, no and if don't want to use a custom kernel, no.

ALWAYS make backup of stock files before replacing them and you should make a complete nandroid backup each time you try to mod your phone. You might also need to restore the stock awb file for future ota update (if you are on stock)
3) Will I need to replace this file everytime I flash a new rom?

Yes and No
We hope at some point, HTC will fix this issue OTA with a new awb file. If so, newer rom versions will probably include the fixed awb file and maybe some custom roms already fixed the file (to confirm). But atm the answer is Yes, you must replace the file everytime.

Lol, you think being unlocked/s-off would make it easier for them...
But I'm not buying that there is any calibration to be done. Mine was replaced by HTC in January. I have some green in low light.

I tried but was not able to copy the file over. I'm rooted/s-off, but I think it will only work on with a custom kernel. I could be wrong though.

hi,
I wasn't aware of this thread
@Yasharkhan @sangiman
You can flash it on M or L! It has nothing to do with the rom you use. It's just a .bin file that sits in the logopartition. Bootloader reads it from there.

Yes, I realize that
However I have a N7 as well, and I'd love to flash that zip on there also. Didn't know if simply replacing the .bin file by flashing the zip would work across devices, or if I'd need to have a device specific zip for the N7 to have it work successfully.

Yeah, I have no idea. It doesn't seem to be device specific but I make it a general rule to never flash zips across devices unless I'm absolutely sure, hence my original question. I'll look around a bit and see what I can find. I haven't found anything like this in the N7 forums as of yet.
Again, thanks for the help, appreciate it.
