It seems that I've been getting this alot. Whenever I plug in my phone to charge via a wall socket, it says "Charging (USB)" in system settings>about phone>status. Now from what I know, its supposed to say "Charging (AC). Any ways to quick fix this besides charging the phone in off mode?

Try the original charger from LG. Charging(USB) is shown if the power source does not have enough ampere.

You can run the test from the "hide menu" to check if the result is the same, or measure the charger output to check if doesn't have any malfunction.

I think I realised what was wrong. I was charging my phone through an extension cord. I tried connecting the charger to a mains and it said AC this time. Perhaps my extension cord prevented enough current from passing through.

Hello everyone,
I have been using my 4x HD for 1~2 weeks now, and i have gotten a problem
I have been using my phone alot ! and then it was almost empty, so i charged it over night, it was only 34%! so i have been playing games over charger, and with usb connection to my laptop it even discharges about 5% in an hour maybe, so i have turned off my phone, plugged in over night in the wall charger, with the battery icon charging (the screen you get when you plug in charger when its off) and now i turn it on, and its only 44%, i have done battery calibration, doesnt change anything... what to do?
i have installed cpuspy now as i have read stuff about it, it doesnt show any sign of deep sleep, only the lowest is 51mhz...?
Regards, Tomaat
The LG P880 goes into USB mode charging when the temperature reaches above 40 degrees Celsius.
Perhaps one of your apps is running in the background and heating up the phone above 40 degrees Celsius and thus the slow charging.
Charging your phone while its off will work.

as i wrote, it didnt work either when turned off, i left it over a night of charging, (8-9 hours) and it was still <50% im sure it charged whole night, power hasnt been off, thats rare in my country
so now.. ?
It even discharges at wall charger... i can only charge While its off
The issue here for a fact ...is tje battery, look at the battery. Take out battery and place in flat surface. If it is not parallel to the flat surface, it is bubbling, laymens terms need a new battery.
Second check the cable and make sure it is not ripped or twisted at both ends.
Third, the contact from the usb and phone may be damaged, might be an unlikely suggestion , but there are people out there who cant connect the cable to phobe properly, not judging or making any uneducated assumptions.
Hope this helps

Go to the hidden menu and look for the battery test or charge test (now I don't remember how it's named) and see what it reports .

Maybe your problem same with me
People say the phone wont charge well because of over "heat"
But, even my phone has normal heat, the problem still same
It happen when i upgrade firmware to v10f, when i downgrade firmware to v10a it doesn't happen.
I just keep flashing flashing again, v10a to v10f to v10a to v10f again and again
And guess what? my phone can charge normally

There is no need to flash over and over untill get the "right flash".
The importante is to do a "clean flash".
The best option is to downgrade the FW, factory reset, web upgrade, ROOT, and factory reset again. :victory:

Thank you all for your replys, it turned out to be the cable
You should also get a new cable, or use one of your friends. or clean your usb port with a fiberless cloth and a bit of alcohol
Fixed for me yey
Does this work with our Optimus, or is there an NFC charging pad?
I think is not compatible. The site said " Compatible With LG Revolution VS910 & LG Spectrum MS920 " , and no mentions about P880. Sorry bro.
Hi,
I need droid razr maxx or atrix HD's battery for my Atrix HD.
My Atrix HD's battery died completely and now it not charging at all.
I checked with a electronics expert and he suggested to replace the battery.
If you have a spare battery from bricked phone then please share with me.
Or if possible if you can share it for few days on account of buying it if damaged.
Earlier tryouts,
My Atrix HD, doesn't boot at all on battery. But when connected to wall charger it shows green led then red Moto logo and then instead of showing the charging logo it reboots directly. And again goed to green led, red moto logo. This keeps happening and doesn't charge the battery at all.
Check with meters, that the battery doesn't contain any charge.
I initially though its soft bricked, so with help of other forums and fastboot menu, I reflashed all stock images. But still it not charging and going in boot loop.
Please help me if you have a spare battery.
Do the factory cable mod and charge it directly. You'll know then

I checked the battery with meter for voltage. And it shows no voltage at all. Earlier it used to, but now no voltage at all.
Will it still charge such completely dead battery.
I will give it a try to create factory cable and try charging it.
A battery can be completely discharged. I'd try charging it with that cable and find out.

At 0V the battery is definitely damaged. Typically 0% to 100% SOC corresponds to certain open circuit voltages (OCV) like 2.5V and 3.7V (I picked arbitrary numbers, they vary based on chemistry).
Kinda both lol
both atrix hd is more economical & have same specs & the razor hd maxx battery is a beast i would get atrix hd with razr hd battery
Perhaps you can find a extra charger (the one that you plug your battery directly in it) and try to charge the battery before putting it into the phone. Sometimes the battery shows a 'fake' death if you don't charge in for a long time.
If it can't help, go to ebay, you will find a lot of battery there.
The battery isn't removal? How are you going to stick it in a charger?

Remove the battery first, there are like tons of video shows how to disemble the phone on youtube.
Once again it's not a regular battery man. You can't just put it in a charger.

Battery
Batteries don't just die-care and maintenance
A. Try charging the phone for 2-3 hours
B. Buy a new battery

Correct-once opened you'll see that there are two circular terminals to connect the tiny battery leads to-replacing battery is easy. With the EB40 battery you will have to cut the frame...

This is correct. Cut-off voltages vary for the type of battery being used such as NiMH, Alkaline, Li-Po, Li-ion etc
And the battery itself would rarely go to a 0V state. That is because the phone automatically powers off at a point where the battery would still appear to have stored voltage, but below powering threshold.

Make sure you are using a calibrated multimeter and measure the voltage again. Does the battery appear swollen?
Also (im not sure on this), the phone should power on regardless of the battery state when connected to AC power. There is always a surplus power from wall socket which is why we can play graphic intensive games when connected to the socket and still have the battery charge up.
Seeing the state of your phone as youve mentioned, i'd suggest making sure its booting properly first. otherwise the charging circuitry might not be working. try something mundane first such as using a different micro usb charger.
cell phone batteries rarely die before youve upgraded the phone itself
I found this charger https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B015E6FP6I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is Qualcom Quickcharge 2.0 certified, but it charge just at 500 mA; Snapdragon 410 should be Quickcarge 2.0, right?
Thank you everybody!

Snapdragon 410 supports QuickCharge 2.0, but Moto did not implement it on the Moto G, only standard charging up to 1300mA is supported. And that charger is rated at 2.4A, not 500mA... I have the black version, works perfectly in every device I've plugged into it.

Thanks, but using Ampere app, I get just 500 mA charge, and phone indicates "Charging" not "Quick charging"...

Not familiar with that app... Like I said Quickcharge is not supported in the Moto G 2015, but it will definitely charge at more than 500mA, I have seem real-time values in GSAM Battery Monitor over 900mA and my lockscreen shows 1300mA (built in feature of Resurrection Remix ROM). 500mA usually indicates USB charging, not A/C charging.

I'll try that app and let you know. BTW, fast charge works fine on N5X.

Yes, It will work, both have the same battery. The back cover of H815 with wireless charging chip will not work on H818.
