Clear Notification Sound Cache. - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, any dev here knows how to clearn notification sound cache? Because if I want to change names of files or change notifications from system/media/audio/notifications to my root folder notifications, it stays buged in the list(where you choose the notifications) the only solution I found so far was rebooting the phone.

There is no notification cache o.o

So only way to clear the notification sound selection list is to reboot the phone?

It gets updated but sounds doesn't work. I have them all in system/media/audio/notifications they are mp3 but that isn't the point, since after rebooting the phone they work..

I did. The problem is that I click on them on the list to listen to the sound, and it doesn't reproduces any sound. Tried unmouting/mounting SD card, problem presists. Only rebooting the phone makes it work. Therefore my questions if there's any cache, or any dev can tell me why is this happening and how to solve it
Thanks!

How can I make you a log?
I really wanted to do a fresh install, but my problem is the following: I'm afraid of loosing my data of my apps. I have it all backed up on titanium. But they are linked with link2sd. After i flasha new rom won't it will say i cant restore everything with Titanium cause not enough space on internal memory?

removed it as in pulled it out? XD
try typing
Code:
fix_permissions
into console/terminal emulator (that should still work)
if not reboot into recovery (home + power) and press
alt + x
then type in fix_permissions

you're going to have to be a little more specific..........how do you mean disappear? and when does it happen? any other side affects (have to reboot to "make it reappear") ?

I mean sometimes I can change wallpapers through gallery and i see my stuff... then like an hour or two later there's nothing there -- it doesn't detect my SD card hence it "disappears"
I have to reboot about 5 times a day to get it back
what does it say when you open up gallery? when i had an issue with mine, it would say "no sd card" or something to that affect.
or does yours just not show any pictures?
edit: is this your external sdcard or your internal one?

Internal SD
It says "no items" when I open up gallery
have you tried flashing a new rom? or possibly do you have a app killer that might be killing some services?

if that still doesn't help
make sure you have no file called .nomedia in the gallery folder or the root of your internal SD

if i plug in my phone usb cable in Kies mode
i can still access the Internal and External SD cards in the phone
also in the PC
i find this the most convenient
when using it with the USB Debugging method ON, then i have to manually MOUNT the SD cards for them to work on the PC
but i lose access to the internal SD and External SD when i do that.
that is the NORMAL behavior

do you not speak english? or do you just PHail?
what do you mean by "up rom"? upgrade? upload?
what rom were you before? stock?
disLagfix ? disable lagfix? is that what you mean? you would DISABLE BEFORE flashing, ENABLE after.
loading files via your phone? #1 you load TO your phone VIA a usb calbe or VIA wifi ect. #2 what do you ACTUALLY mean? that you cant push with odin? cant mount usb? ect.....
try including information, to help us help you, if you want help.
and using terms that we dont use, makes it obvious you didnt READ AND LEARN BEFORE FLASHING.

you cant 'upgrade' you need to flash the FULL 1.1 over your current rom. shouldnt need to disable lagfix at all, but it wouldnt hurt. the idea there is to disable BEFORE you flash the rom, then re-enable it AFTER flashing the rom.
if you flash the full rom over your current rom it will wipe everything for you, except items on your sdcard (pictures/music/apps that store data there, etc)
REmove ext. sd card,. odin back to stock with repartition checked.
your sd card is corrupted mine did this and i had to do this. also format
your ext sd card mine was so corrupted that its actually no longer any good

I´ve had this problem before on di11i's 6.0 rom... just download the SGS Tools 4.5 from this thread - apply the "clean_thumb_db" script, reboot. The gallery should be back to normal after the system scans the media... well... this is how I fixed mine anyway!

[SOLVED] Application Install Button Blocked!

My X8 running GingerDX 017 has this problem. doixanh said its not his rom problem, so i ask here.
SOLUTION: Dont use Screen Sensor Apps. Thanks ilarisk
When installing an apk, I will get 2 options. "Install" and "Cancel"
I cannot press the "Install", the button is somehow blocked. But i can press cancel.
Its not the apk problem cause the apk managed to install before. And this problem happens to all apk at the same time.
The rom is very clean, stock + DXmodules + DXhotfix + ArcMiniMusicPlayer. No freezing apps.
Restarting phone dont help.
Full wipe solves this for awhile. After next boot problem came back.
Maybe your SD card blocks the installation.
You should try to format your SD card(make a backup 1st)...
I don't guarantee this will work!
It's just a suggestion!
have u tried looking into CM Settings > Application > Install Location?
mayb u can give some screenshot?and try format your SD card fisrt.
I also think it's the SD card.. Do you have more than one partition?
Format it and reinstall the ROM.
If you backup your SD, save only the things you really need.
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
Thanks for your suggestion.
But this problem only exist in GingerDX, other ROMS i have no problem. Its SDCARD problem?
And My SDcard is 8GB, class 4, Single partition.
Screenshot, describe first, I cant press the Install button, when pressed, its the same as not pressing it(blocked). Only Cancel button can be pressed. Hope u can imagine it.

Don't worry, I too forget about logcats once in a while until it hits me sometimes it can also be a problem with the apk's installation method, like if it tries to create a temp partition to store itself. I know a game that does that (The Respawnables) and it caused the same headache for my sister's S4.
