There is an urgent problem. My phone will not connect to routers for wi-fi 802.11N technology. Only the speed 802.11G 54Mbps.
The forum 4pda.ru many reported a similar problem.
Somebody got to connect the phone to speed higher than 54 Mbps?

Are you on stock rom? If you are, you can just reset your phone via LG software.
If you are on a manually flashed kdz file, just ensure that you have a full build and re flash.
If not, try other wifi settings.
*note, when reseting or re flashing, it will clear all data.

Just got an official response from LG. The question was whether our phone support 802.11N.
The answer was:
Thank you for contacting the company LG Electronics!
This phone model supports 5 GHz.
concluded that the 2.4 GHz band is not supported
for tests you can go to "Hidden Menu/WLAN Test/FTM Test", there you can see some options.

Just do a factory reset, and re-flash the phone, if possible in web upgrade mode.
Takes less time than be walking around and around trying to fix some weird bug that no one knows for sure what it is.
Good luck on that.

Tried to reflash the different firmware, reset too. Original firmware for the country also did not help.
Network sees but does not connect to it.
Which can be stored in the system log files of WiFi?

I have the same issue.
In my home router witch support only 2.4 Gh 802.11b/g/n band, left only N mode, my phone did not conect, but have the samsung android phone it did connect.
Anybody help
Th's in advise
Have the 10g version.
Most 802.11n products will knock your throughput down by up to 80% if you use WEP or WPA/TKIP security.
The reason is that the 802.11n spec states that the high throughput rates (link rates above 54 Mbps) can't be enabled if either of those outdated security methods are used.
The bottom line is that you can only use WPA2/AES wireless security (or no security at all) if you don't want to throw away lots of speed.
Similarly, WMM must be enabled in order to get link rates higher than 54 Mbps.
Thank's I see. The problem steel exists. Can't connect to N speed my linksys e900 home router, at the same time connect from my 2 notebooks and Samsung 5570 mini with speed 72mbit.
Any ideas?

Hi all. i have a problem with my note. on some instances if i try downloading large files(for games or navigon maps, or just browsing on some sites, etc) after 10 15 seconds the wifi adapter shuts down/resets and the connection is lost. the adapter restarts and connects to the wifi in 2 3 seconds but is very frustrating to try downloading something many times before succeeding. anyone else has this problem? i searched the forum but didnt find anyone else with this problem. any ideas as to what is causing this problem?

Re: note wifi disconnecting
Hmm. Try changing the router wifi settings to transmit only b/g and retest.
Had the same issue, please tell us what version and kernel rom you are using?
->I had only when using CM, on stock GB and the XXLSC roms, I did not encounter this problem (also with cm 10.1 I seem to have a stable connection again)
**I do want to note, that it can't be possible to have a worse connection when on CM vs TW, but I have experienced it this way. So I can onlyh draw my conclusions from that...(I don't have any developer knowledge whatsoever)
Re: note wifi disconnecting
I would start by un plugging the router and plug it back in.

Try this:
Dial *#0011#*
Press the menu button on service mode screen
Select wifi
Turn "wifi power save mode" off
It seems like this is only working on samsung roms. I'm on CM10.1 and I have to dial *#*#0011#*#* to access the service mode.
Also there is no wifi entry in the menu.

CHanging to b/g works
Hi,
I have router DIR 855 and had the same issue with my note. Wifi kept disconnecting whereas all the other devices at home stay connected. So it was clear that Note was the one that had the issue. Changing the 2,4ghz to b/g setting helped but I would like a stable connection on my 5 ghz band and that one keeps disconnecting. Any idea how to fix that? I am using NAS and the speed is much better when using 5ghz instead of the old crappy 2,4ghz.

Hi,
Can you please elaborate on how to do that?
My router has two different bands and it cannot switch between the two. What do you mean by NAS setting?
Depends if your router can run simultaneous dual band.
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone have had issues with the phone not showing any wifi 5ghz bands?
My phone is not showing or connecting to these networks and am just wondering why? I've tryed changing the auto to 5 no luck, I've wiped the device, rebooting and have tryied chaing the channels with no luck.
My device is running ARHD22 which is 4.3 and my router is a cisco EA4500. Annoying thing is that the iPhones and laptops are picking it up. I've even changed the SID for this band to check if I could see it but the phone will only show and connect to the 2.4ghz band.
Thanks

HTC One Dual-SIM 5Ghz WiFi Problems
Hello,
I'm having the same issue - brand new HTC One Dual SIM running Android 4.2.2.
Will display and connect to all 2.4Ghz networks perfectly, but anything 5Ghz it won't even detect, or connect if I add them manually to the saved settings list - tried it with all the 8 APs at work and my two Ubiquiti UniFi APs (Pro & Outdoor 5G) at home and no luck.
Being a work phone they've said we've got to send it back to the supplier rather than to HTC, but this is the second phone I've had with exactly the same problem.
Called up HTC and after about an hour of troubleshooting everything involved until they believed me, they said there wasn't anything they could think of - but it's a little weird for two to have the same problem right out of the box!
Apart from hard reset, wipe cache partition and safe mode - anything else anyone can suggest could fix it?
Regards,
iamacarpetlicker

Just an update on the issue if anyone is having the same problems.
We had our 4th Dual SIM handset delivered today (from a completely different supplier and production batch) which still had the same issue, unable to locate 5Ghz networks and unable to even attempt to connect to them.
We also noticed during debugging that if you switch to 5Ghz only in the menu and go back, it'll be unable to find any networks, but if you then turn the WiFi off and on again, it'll then show you a random selection of 2.4Ghz networks, even though the radio should be in 5Ghz only mode.
Because these are company owned devices to be used as work phones, we can't use custom ROMs.
I've been on the phone with HTC a lot today and after finding the support desk were no help, the comany I work for got me in touch with the Corporate Sales Manager over there and we had a conference call with their tech team.
They said it appears to be a software fault affecting all handsets of this model, but are unable to confirm if it is with all 5Ghz access points (we've only tested with Ubiquiti and Apple APs) as they seem to think it works for them in the lab.
We are getting shipped two debug handsets on Monday, one running 4.2.2 they have tested in their lab and one with the latest official 4.4 ROM that they said is due for release next week, to test before release to see if it resolves the issue.
Will post the results hopefully on Tuesday.

how about changing channel number?
Yes they suggested it could be something to do with the channel, but so far we've tested:
Indoor at work (Ubiquiti UniFi Pro): 140
Indoor at home (Ubiquiti UniFi Pro): 136
Outdoor at home (Ubiquiti UniFi Outdoor 5G): 128
Test Network at Home (Apple AirPort Extreme): 100
Which according to goo.gl/azMC91 are all in Band B of the 5Ghz spectrum and require DFS compliance.
But the strange thing being, my personal HTC One X connects to all the networks perfectly fine - and in the case of the work APs, we've got ~40 other devices connected on 5Ghz as we use it exclusively, half of those being Android phones, so I guess if it doesn't support those channels, that's kind of a bug in itself?

How about non-dual-sim HTCs?
PS: i'm just throwing ideas out.... nothing concrete !! (otherwise i would have said so)
That's ok, help greatly appreciated.
Like I said, my One X works great on those networks - as for a more similar matched HTC One (non-dual-sim), I know our Directors all had them when they first came out and they definitely worked as we've been using 5Ghz exclusively on those APs for some time now and I'd have had a lot of ear ache if they didn't, but I haven't seen them using them in a long time and they could possibly have been pre-release handsets given as gifts if that could make any difference, so couldn't confirm for the latest firmware updates / model revisions.. I'll have to see if our returns department has one I can borrow on Monday to test and confirm.
I'm hoping it is just a software thing and the 4.4 ROM they're shipping us to test next week will fix, as I read a few posts that the HTC One did originally have a few problems with 5Ghz when that was on 4.2.2, fixed by an upgrade to 4.3 which obviously never made it to the Dual SIM.. It was a little hard to tell from the post descriptions if the problem was indeed the same or not.
Hello,
We've been having internet troubles so I couldn't post the update on Monday, but good news.
Got in on Monday to a message from HTC - they decided over the weekend that rather than shipping me the debug phones to test, they had released the 4.4 OTA update that morning to everybody with a Dual-SIM handset and to just try updating it.
I asked them if they could test it their end before shipping the handsets out to me, so I can only assume they realised it was a problem - or they were just ready with the update - who am I to speculate.
Installed the update and the 5Ghz WiFi now works perfectly - shows up in the list and connects as expected with speeds that are stunning!
Seeing as all phones still come with 4.2.2 out of the box, you'll either need working 2.4Ghz WiFi to download the update (which was hard for us) or support did send me a link to a Windows based updater program to update the phone via USB. They said I'm not allowed to share, but I guess they'd provide it if you called up and asked for it.
You say your phone connects on the 5GHz network, but have you seen if it's connecting on the 802.11N or the 802.11AC network?
My ONE will connect on the N network on 5GHz, but not the AC network.
I've tried Auto channel selection and manually assigning channels, still no go with the AC network.

Want to ask, have you manually set the region setting in your router? also what wireless band does you use inside router?
Cause if you have manually set the region to match your homeland, than after you flash other rom, firmware that is not match to your setting then you cannot see your wifi..
And don't forget, the wireless band best set to 1-11, as 12-14 have many problem for phone to detect..

Baseband does not interfere with wifi connection, as baseband is use mainly for sim connection to your mobile provider..in phone wifi setting, does you change the wifi frequency band? i strongly recommend use AUTO for best result..Also, try change the WiFi region code to Europe see can or not..
If all i mention cannot, then i suggest you reset your router, then just set your ISP so you get internet, and for WIFI setting, don't change region, and set your security key either WPA/WPA2 with AES/TKIP set to AUTO, use band 1-11 and wifi transfer width 20mhz/40mhz set to AUTO, if your router support option for wifi frequency 2.4/5 Ghz option, then set to AUTO also..if cannot, then you choose either 2.4ghz ( best so far with most compatibility ) or 5.0ghz ( some phone cannot detect )..
Hope it help..
It's a CM11 bug
Ok it's a cm bug. But why flashing stock doesn't solve? Does cm broke permanently functions in our device?

no i dont, but i miss the feature to off wifi when screen off.
Mine is ok
Mine is good as well, maybe an update could fix it if your aren't updated already.
You could also switch to miui eu rom, hopefully that will fix it.
Also other phones connected on the same wifi don't have this issue?
Mine seems to have the same issue. I used an app "connection stabilizer booster" from play store and that keeps it alive.
Yup same issues... Constant dead wifi, constant drop offs, can't fix it. Driving me nuts.
I think I have the same issue.
I have the exact same issue and it's infuriating. I have a feeling it's down to the Chinese ROM. A couple years back, I had a phone with a Chinese ROM which had the same problem. Although I don't really know. If anyone can identify the problem or even provide a solution that would be great.

The problem came back unfortunately . On further research the issue is mainly because this phone has a piss poor wifi 5 GHz connectivity. I am thinking of switching to oneplus7 pro because wifi is a mess
I was already thinking my device was broken or my wifi extenders incorrectly configured... Good to hear other people having the same problem. My WiFi speed sometimes drops and I have to switch it off and on to resolve it. I'll set my Router and the two extenders to 2,4 GhZ and report back.
Alright, that fixed my connection issues. I previously had my WiFi set to the same name in 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. I switched it to a different name for the bands and used the K20pro in 2.4 GHz only.
No dropping connections any more.

1- are your phones up to dates with latest official chines ROM (not beta or global rom)? (rooted or not?)
2- did you checked with another WiFi modems?

I was already thinking my device was broken or my wifi extenders incorrectly configured... Good to hear other people having the same problem. My WiFi speed sometimes drops and I have to switch it off and on to resolve it. I'll set my Router and the two extenders to 2,4 GhZ and report back.
Alright, that fixed my connection issues. I previously had my WiFi set to the same name in 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. I switched it to a different name for the bands and used the K20pro in 2.4 GHz only.
No dropping connections any more.

could you please explain how you used k20 pro in 2.4ghz only?
Hey, u might have gotten me wrong.
My Netgear Router and two extenders where configured to sending a WiFi network on both frequencies at the same time with the same key and the same SSID.
I reconfigured the router and the extenders to sending with a different SSID on 5GHz and never entered that password into the K20pro. Now it's only able to connect to the 2.4 GHz networks.

I immediately replaced the shoprom with xiaomi.eu. Haven't flashed anything else, only their OTAs.
I believe since they are based on chinese beta they would include a new modem partition but I'm not sure.

So the only thing to be done here is get a replacement and hope that device doesnt have the same hardware issue?
This seemed to fix the 5GHz connection problem for me:
On router settings:
Changed encryption to AES only
Changed channel to 100/80
Problem solved
I had same issue...but it is very easy to solve.just change ur region to usa...my region was india then i changed it to usa.. now using 5g network without any issue...???
