First try to do a factory reset, its faster...
1-Turn off the phone.
2-Press "Vol-" and Power button
You'll be now in Android System Recovery (if everything its OK)
3-Select "wipe data/ factory reset, press power button to execute
4-You'll be in the next screen, you should choose "Yes -- delete all user data", press power buton again.
5-After the reset the menu will appear again, you just need to press the Power button once again to restart the phone.
If it doesn't works, than you need to re-flash.
Say how it goes and if you need just go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861854
Good luck

Even after Factory Reset?
If soo, I think that you'll need to flash it
You can wait for a second opinion, or flash it now (maybe it will be faster...).

I don't know if I understood very well...
you re-install the firmware (I suppose that you flash the phone...) and even like that you have problems?
You shouldn't, when we flash, we install everything from factory, soo, everything should work with any problems.
You didn't use any other method than the normal one to re-install the firmware?

The only advice that I can give you is, do the factory reset, flash the phone with the latest firmware (don't know from where you are... depending on that depends what version you can use) and now if you still have problems, you gonna need someone better than me, sorry...

When I boot looped I used adb android commander and pushed manually the framework/app folders..
Then format via recovery all was good then
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda premium

Next time use version 2. I had no problems with that.
Sent from my (V10f, Rooted, CWM-Installed, Deodex-ed, Camera-Moded V5) LG Optimus 4X HD P880

I think, you forgot copy app/framework to sdcard or use other firmware version (is not v10F).
you should flash new firmware via software update again.

i want to go back to ginger yoshi from cm7

hi.. im currently using CM7 on my G1 and i tried to switch back to gingeryoshi. i've successfully install it but after i install it and reboot my phone. my phone always rebooting to recovery. what ive done wrong? i still have the RADIO-2.22.28.25 and hboot-1.33.0013d. how i can go back to yoshi ????
thanks in advance
strange, to get into recovery you must hold down the home key as you power on, this sounds as simple as a stuck home key. but thats unlikely if you have been using your phone without any issue until now (im assuming this)
what recovery do you have and what method did you take to get back to gingeryoshi

i have ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7 and i use the common method.
wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition and then install the rom. at the 2nd attempt i wipe also the dalvik cache and at the 3rd attempt i use ohsaka-superwipe. but it all the same. after installing, it reboot to recovery. i don't know what the problem is. because i've already tried to install froyo by laszlo and even the AOSP 4.0.1 Alpha 2. but i get no problem going back to yoshi after trying those rom and i use the same recoverymod. and yeah i don't have any button problem at my phone. and here im using my phone again with CM7 because i can't go back to GingerYoshi. so i just install cm7 again. and i got no problem
it sounds like you are doing everything right. best guess is that you have a bad gingeryoshi update.zip - try going to the thread and downloading again gingeryoshi, then reinstall this to your phone.

[Q] Factory reset question

Silly question here? Does factory reset (power + volume down) restore the settings on the hidden menu? I was playing with the Wifi modes and settings on hidden menu, got a better battery status after that, but a slower wifi conection. Well I need to restore this, does factory reset, reset the settings?

It should but, if it doesn't, reflash using LGFlash Tool.
Will wipe everything in internal memory!!!
Will format the partitions and reinstall, factory reset... the difference is the tool will
reinstall the complete android system
Probably better and cleaner than this will be impossible...

[Q] Phone Reboots on installing any app!

Hello developers,
I recently rooted my LG Optimus Black (OS 2.3.4, version v20e). I did that with a SmartFlash tool. Everything worked fine. I have superuser and AnReboot installed on my phone.
But my phone reboots everytime i try to install ANY app whether from Market or offline(.apk). It just freezes and reboots.
I'm a new to this rooting and flashing new ROMs stuff. But I'm equally passionate about modifying my cellphone.
Please help.

Either the ROM you took was buggy, or you made a mistake somewhere... did you do a factory reset in hidden menu already? (Dial 3845#*970#) Maybe some left over files cause this kind of behaviour. If not, flash again with sft and do a factory reset afterwards

Hello,
I'm grateful to you for your reply. But I'm concerned that if I do a Factory reset, it will wash all the applications from my cell except the stock apps. I would lose AnReboot app in that case. How would go in CWM recovery mode in that case???
you could just try to re-install the ROM through recovery.
Press and hold Volume down + Home key
then press and hold the above combination and also press and hold power button for a while

Yes your apps will be gone... but after the reset, you ll just have to set up your phone again and download your apps from playstore you may also save needed data with titanium backup, before you reset your phone and restore it afterwards a bit of work, but should be worth it

Hey there!
Thanx gentleman for your advice. I did a factory reset, wiped dalvik but that didn't solve the issue. But installing a different ROM fixed the issue. I installed the Zeus ROM. It i absolutely stable and superfast ROM. All thanks to Heuxx. Anyone else having the same problem, follow the same procedure, install custom ROM. You can find everything about Zeus ROM over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454274
I have a last doubt. Please clarify me about the kernel stuff. Do we need custom kernels for some specific ROMs ?? If yes, how do I figure out which custom kernel should be flashed for that specific ROM??

rooting prob

Guys tried rooting my phone, basically done the whole procedure and I couldnt dload anything from p store and when I tried my phone restarted, the same with setting the time. What exactly did I do wrong? I used that smart flash thing with the superuser zip. Or is this just how rooted phones work??
Ive gone back to flashing my phone, works fine all is good, im thinking about trying to root again but I need a clearer idea. Im working with gb 2.3.4.
If anybody has anything straightforward and reliable drop us a line.
Thanks in advance dudes.
First of all, install the LG USB drivers and restart your pc.
Try using smartflash with phone battery removed...this often helps.
Do data, cache, and dalvik wipes from cwm.
As soon as you boot into the flashed rom, do a factory reset from hidden menu.
pdf????

No matter which software you're currently running you should have no problems.
Just make sure:
You should restart your PC after installing Drivers.
Remove Phone battery, Then access Software update Mode.
All the required files are in that post, just download everything, place superuser.zip in sd card, follow the instructions.
After flashing, the phone will automatically reboot into the Recovery menu.
in the recovery menu, select wipe Data/factory reset, then confirm.
after that, select Wipe Cache, and confirm.
Go to Advanced>Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Go back, Select Install Zip from SD Card>Choose zip from SD Card and Then Choose The Superuser.zip from the SD Card, THIS will root your phone.
Select Reboot System Now.
Let phone reboot, go to Dialer dial 3845#*970# and do factory reset.
Done!
This is as much detail as possible, Cant go anymore
Thanks dude.

As for the Firmware, you can use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105 firmware to root Posted by N00by.
To remove LG Bloatware, just use any uninstaller app from the Play store, But you WILL need root. so root your phone first, then Use Titanium Backup (recommended).

Hi,

1. if you know of any source i can refer to so that i can know what i can/can not delete it would help.
2. After the root, should i delete the superuser.zip from the memory card???
3. If you know of a good root prog i can download so i can uninstall unneeded progs let me know (cos basically i downloaded root app uninstall from play store and that was the reason i flashed the phone 2nd time, screen went black, cant trust it)
Let us know mate so i know what Im doing.
Thanks in advance.:good:
Search the apps and themes section, there was a thread for the List of safely removable apps. Also, all uninstalling apps will be the same, they will show you all apps, you have to choose the ones to uninstall.
You can delete the superuser.zip if you've flashed it.

Bricked Sony Xperia Z1!! Need help urgently!!!

So I was flashing a custom rom in CWM and it was just about to reboot when it said that it could not find the root files and asked if I wanted to install them. I clicked yes and now its stuck on the Sony sign. I can't turn it off or anything.
I tried using flash tool but it said i had to turn it off and go into flashmode which I have no way of doing.
Please help ASAP
Thannks
This is not a brick, it is just a bootloop. i think, you didn't wiped data / cache ?! just flashed the zip?!
If you flash a rom with cwm, that is another rom then your actual one, then you will have to wipe data / cache.
So first go to CWM and wipe data / factory reset. then try to boot again.
If you need flashmode:
Turn off device (if it is stuck, press and hold Power + VolUp)
Then hold VolDown and connect the usb cable
PS: for the next time, try reading the pinned posts in dev forums before you ask such questions, cause this is BASIC KNOWLEDGE for flashing a device.

hmm you dont need to reinstall ... the important thing is WIPE DATA ... Android leaves files on the data partition that may not be compatible with the new rom and that then is a bootloop or other problems with the new rom. so everytime you flash a new rom, wipe data!
