Hello guys..just when they fixed almost all lag on my phone with new update. cf something.
nowadays i feel my lg 4x has very slow internet connection and also downloads very slow..
i did netspeed test and found out i got max 60-70kbs/s thats very very slow. and also when i download something from play market it hangs up often and a file thats 5 mb takes AGES. my Gfs htc one x downloads everything super fast. we both got the same contract btw.
dunno what to do im starting to feel that lg sucks..

On mobile data or both WiFi and mobile data? What connection do you have? 3G, "G" "H"?
Cant say I've got slow speed...
I got 180 kb/s download and 82 upload... mobile data, "H"
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
yes on 3g. on everything. very slow..
im not even downloading per second. im downlaoding per 10 or 20 second.
60kbs at every 5-10-20 second.
not every second.
im going crazy
Are you kidding me? I'm in singapore, 3G H or H+, and i got 16mbps for both downloads and uploads. My play store downloads a 22MB game in 3 seconds. It must be your carrier

Hi all. Im due an upgrade i summer. Im looking At this phone or the desire s. But is this phone buggy? Is the dua core really something special? Reviews on the 2x arent too good atm, the phone has many negative points abt it! It was like that with my tg01. I got it because it was the worlds first 1ghz phone. (just like this is the worlds first dual core) my tg01 has soo mamy bugs with it and it was rushed out. Is the 2x like this? I hear it is very buggy. I dont want to get another phone like my tg01 where i rely on custom roms for the phone to be usable.
So long story short, is this phone good? Is dual core something special? Or is speed more or less the same as single cores? Some ppl say that dual core is not needed with android.. Is this true?
Sorry for the quick messy typing (not on pc) and looking for some quick answers!
Cheers

bump :')
anyone?
Its GPU is a bit ahead of the Samsung's... The CPU is far ahead. In Smartbench 2011 I score 4142CPU and 2953GPU and no samsung devices are even on the charts (with 1.4ghz OC but still stock is a lot better, and I would recommend installing a custom rom...). The call quality can be quite bad until you flash the baseband but after that it should be great. I have nothing bad to say about this phone, and when 2.4 comes out it will only get better (2.4 is rumored to come with real dual-core support)
Even though mine's been working quite well for past 2 weeks as my daily phone, there are also people who are quite fed up with theirs.
I hadn't read xda's user reviews prior to getting mine, but if I were to get another 2x now, I would wait for LG to provide a firmware update that significantly reduces the lock-up/reboot/battery drain issues. It's just to be perfectly sure that I will get one as stable (or more so) than my existing 2x.
I believe the battery drain issue can be fixed manually. just need a through check on whats running and how
thank you all for replies!
(xilw3r sorry i have run out if thanks!)
i
so most issues will be fixed with updates? but does the phone need to use a custom rom to be usable? is lg's ui good?
and is dualcore really much of a difference? do you notice a giant speed difference betweeen other android phones, or is it overhyped?
is battery life good on this? how long heavy use can it last under wifi?
im really stuck considering this and the
desire s
LG ui is laggy and a personal choice, i use lancher pro plus. heavy use and wifi battery lasts a few hours.
Battery doesnt last a day with low usage for me. 5-10% per hour on standby. With 3g on and mail twitter etc sync every 60 minutes. my old hero lasts longer with heavier use
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
Can't comment much on the performance or UI as I moved over from Symbian. Though, it's much smoother in its user interaction than my son's LG Optimus One, but that's single core, 600mhz.
On days that I don't play much with it and actually use it like a typical work phone, the battery remains above 50% by 6pm. I think usually about 1 to 1.5 hour talk, hourly email auto-checks, less than half-hour of browsing and less than 20 SMSes. I am not a heavy user: I don't IM at all, nor GPS or game much. Just typical work-type usage.
Note: I switch off wifi when I am out of the house and rely on 3G for data connection. I find that keeps the battery lasting longer.

then you have some application/service/process running roque
Mine easily last 10 hours in standby with only 1% battery use (wifi and 3g and autosync enabled)
if you have 5-10% drain per hour on standby, you have some application/service/process not going to sleep as it should, using cpu and power, and preventing your phone from entering standby mode.
Thats not a problem of the phone - but a software issue that you as user need to investigate and solve
with low usage I easily get 2 days running - with moderate use 1½ - and with heavy use 1 full day.
No strange processes running here, spent a few days of testing with different roms aswell drain still exists
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
thanks fir responses! i was gonna say 5-10 drainage in an hr is bad! is the a common problem? i heard abt these battey issues!
Battery usage:
16h after power was unplugged, I still have around 40-45% of battery. Low usage (WiFi/3G on, a few calls, gTalk, but no email sync activated).
ROM: 10b

I relly want this phone but im not sure about it anymore.. i read so many many many big bugs about it, and seems that almost EVERYONE is having them..
optimus one was a great phone with dew bugs, why cant they make the same quality on a HIGHER END handset lol :S ?
If you look through the forums of any phone, there will be a lot of people talking about how they have some sort of problem.
Nexus S
yea but o2x is A LOT, mean u have 60 page thead about reboot issues.... that doesnt look too promising ..
You can always return it if you have too many problems
Nexus S
The stores have em already, G-slate and G2x. Played with both today, I know the manager in store but before somebody make a dumb comment pertaining to that, aint nuttin top secret and no special info was bestowed on me because of who I know. The stores just have them stocked already. The slate is nice though, good build, nice size and weight, kinda reminded me of the ipad but lighter. Honeycomb makes our phones look like gameboy colors.

But the G2x was also better than my expectations! By far blows most of the others out of water.

No ,you're not the only one. I am too , when we get jellybean and butter it will hopefully be limited to 60fps
Same here I thought there was something wrong with the game

A couple of weeks ago i noticed the same thing on bubble shoot. Even though at times the game was running on normal fps (making it totally smooth and playable), sometimes the fps sort of 'broke loose', the game was running much faster but with a lot of stutter. Felt like the phone was exceeding the normal game speed, resulting in many skipped frames. A few months ago i had a large conversation about this w Sandro (member here), where we sort of concluded that this kind of behavior takes place almost in all interactions on the o2x (UI, programs etc). My shock was when i revived my old Acer Liquid E for my gf. After flashing CM7.2 (just noting that both the Liquid and the o2x are running the same OS) and installing Go Launcher, i realized that even though the transitions between home screens appeared to be slower in speed, they were totally smooth. The UI maintained a stable fps at all times. This doesn't happen on GO Launcher on the o2x. The phone seems to always 'try for more', overriding the normal speed (fps) and resulting in dropped frames.

This has been my main problem with the optimus 2x and has annoyed me since the day i got it. But if we did get working jellybean with butter, hopefully this issue should be resolved due to the 60fps limit.

I know how u feel mate. watching my 3yr old Liquid being smoother in launcher, android menus really pissed me off. I agree that this is the most annoying thing in the o2x.

Any solutions for this problem you think?

Hello guys, im in a real hurry becuase today is the last day that i can give back the phone if i want to change it to something else.
The Phone laggs like HELL and gets massive fps drops while gaming for over 20 minutes.
games like Inotia4-zenonia4-shadowgun?
while gaming the screen turns dimmed. like automatic lower screen brightness and lags. heavy lag for about 3-4 seconds.
every 2-5 minutes.
now iv been using the phone for about 2 weeks and its not root. i dont have so many apps and only a few games.
this is horrible because its already my second lg 4x. the previous had bug with calling poeple. couldnt call anyone.
and now this.
im really ready to get the samsung s3 over this...
help me fast please. what should i do??
lags in zenonia, wtf?
if u have some skills, You can update firmware to V10F if u haven't, then root, recovery and wipe cache/dalvik via recovery

well after the new patch for lg iv played for 1-2 hours and no lags whatsoever now.
gonna retunr when i tested some other games.
seems promising right now. no need samsung^^
ShadowGun THD still lagging despite V10f update.
Just come to this phone from a Galaxy Nexus. Getting the same problem.
Dead Trigger and Sonic CD both stutter. The music on Sonic CD sounds like a record skipping. Smooth as butter on the slower Nexus.
Sonic 4 Ep. 2 THD is the same. Haven't tested any other's yet, but reckon it'll be a recurring theme...
pointed especially at dexter,
best bat life is without any cpu mods and using the tegra managment patch.. the apk thats in the /bin folder
for some reason, the cpu frequency always gets stuck randomly.. not according to what we set on setcpu
i went from 12hours to 20ish hours of bat life on my phone
and fixed the screen taking time to wake.. went from 3-4 seconds to 1-2 seconds..
also, since dexter pointed out that he had the issue on the sense rom too, this is kernel related..
and bye bye 4xhd.. hello nexus 4 *as soon as i get it in my crappy camel filled country*

Recently my wifi has been extremely slow, I ran a speed test and my download speed is 3Mbps and my upload speed is 12Mbps(which is normal). Then I ran a speedtest on my N7 and I got a download speed of 52Mbps and upload speed of 13Mbps. This seemed weird to me. YouTube videos barely even play, they buffer like every 10 seconds. I have a comcast 2in1 modem/router but I have not had problems with it before.(all my other devices have fast speeds) Also I'm running Maximus HD 21.0 but it was also slow when I had ARHD. Any ideas?
