Simplest and the best way is to flash a root kernel via pc using odin or heimdall

Can't get past LG logo on boot. Will this help?

Ok yesterday I rooted my phone using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23790405&postcount=171
That worked and I had a working phone, but then I installed ROM Manager and then clicked install cwm recovery ( but i think I already had it installed ). Then I went reboot into recovery and now it doesn't get past the LG logo.
So I can't get past the LG logo at all, but I can get into S/W upgrade mode on my computer.
So I have found the smartflash tool on this forum, I want to know if I can use the same fls and bin files I used when rooting my phone (see link above) to unbrick my phone.
Please help I'm freaking out
Thanks you!
Yes, use the same files, your phone will be fine
Ok thanks
I don't know if I should put my "CP bin" file as the .bin or .fls or my "AP bin" as .fls or .bin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23790405&postcount=171
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803
They give different instructions (1 says CP file = .fls, 1 says CP file = .bin)
Should I just follow the guide for rooting the phone?
Thank you.
You have to use toturial - root , unbrick by smartflash
From the optimus black general
But remember do NOT check cp
I do root my phone by smartflash and all was fine. If you want you can to use stock rom with root or without root from your provider
You have to set smartflash like on the pics - this way is ok

Thanks..
If I follow the instructions on this link will it unbrick my bricked phone?
Also I have attached a link to an image of the different methods they are saying which is confusing me. http://imgur.com/GW1Mb
Sorry I am a noob!
Thanks for your help again guys.
If you have turn on s/w upgrade mode you can always unbrick your device .
When I flesh stock rom from my provider I set smartflash like here http://forum.android.com.pl/f359/po...ash-i-kdzu-usuniae-cie-blokady-aparatu-98695/ I use this couple days ago
Maybe you can use both settings smartflash. Each of the guides has been tested with the xda and the second

S6500 Restore stock firmware

Hi people... i need to restore the original firmware for Samsung S6500. I found only the Stock Rom that peter_baz link at the last point of the feature (read XXDL2) but i don't know how to flash it...
Can u help me please?
sorry for my english
Hi.
First i must remember you that this is android development section.
If you would like to flash stock firmware you have to download compatible with your phone Odin and official Samsung's firmware. You can download it from this website www.sammobile.com.
Best greetings

Don't forget to add the PIT file and uncheck "Re-Partition" .

I thought that the PIT file has to be used only if you have a non one package file, right? I haven't used it because I downloaded the latest German ROM and it was one single file that I flashed through odin (PDA). Did I do it wrong?

Some people say that flashing without the .pit file may cause problems . I always do it just in case , but as long as the phone works fine now , you're good to go .
If you select the pit file and uncheck the repartition it's exactly like not selecting the pit file in the first place... The pit file is responsible for the repartition so if you do not perform it... why selecting the file? Anyway, repartition (pit file included..) is NOT needed during normal firmware changing.
I think a cwm flashable zip of stock ROM will be handy. This will not clear the yellow triangle but it may be cwm friendly.

1. System settings>Developer Options>Turn it on, then check USB debugging.
2. Downlaod kernel, unpack till you get kernel.bin.md5
3. Install this on PC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119676
4. Use that app to flash kernel, just open it and follow the guide from app.
Don't worry about that. Just follow the steps i tell you and that is.

I think you have instaled kernel. Pushed kernel succesfuly means kernel is instaled. Go to About phone, and see is it CoCore kernel.

I was having trouble rooting the device. I was trying to root it with the old root.zip file, the Shaaan's method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087424
After continuous unsuccessful attempts I thought I should have a look at the forum - noticed the script has been updated. My bad. :/
I was trying to install the kernel without rooting the device. so, that was it.

[Q] GT-N7000 does not boot . It shows only a Battery symbol

My GT-N7000 does not boot . It sows only a Battery symbol after i power it up.
I can go into download mode and my windows PC was ale to detect it using ODIN 1.85.
i flashed a PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.93.6.tar.md5 . I got into recovery mode and tried to flash a custom CM ROM
I had cleaned up to defaults before this.
But alas that did not work either and after booting it got stuck on the Samsung Logo with a Yellow Triangle.
I tried the Odin download again for PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.93.6.tar.md5 this time and again got into recover and the same story again.
After trying to reboot again and again , now the device shows a Battery symbol on power-up and although i can still get into ODIN download
mode (luckily , so all's not lost i hope ) , I cannot get ODIN nor Kies to communicate with phone ...
My laptop refused to install some additional drivers...
What do i do now ? Try a new PC or chord ?
Also can we move this thread to any other topic . I couldn't find a similar one.
Try this:
1. Three files stock 2.3 Android with Re-Partition by Odin
2. One file stock 4.1 Android by Odin without Re-Partition
3. PhilZ save kernel by recovery
4. PhilZ CWM by recovery
5. Whatever you want

Ok Cool, I did use the pre rooted Dr. Ketan's pre-rooted GB Rom http : / /d-h.st/HJM
I used it from a different Laptop where the Odin recognized my Brick in download mode
I waited until the Yellow color showed in ID:COM and ticked Reboot + F Reset Time and then Hit Start.
After the NAND write it rebooted but atleast now it goes into the samsung logo with yellow triangle.
Download mode shows me the COUNT as 3 for the custom binary download.
What next ? How do i get past the yellow triangle now ?
Use any PhilZ image ?

y r u using odin when there are flashable zips available just place them in ur ext-sd card and flash the rom or recovery u want if u are able to go to ur recovery u dont need to worry at all!!!
---------- Post added at 03:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:03 PM ----------
do this
-if u have a recovery do a factory reset(or wipe clean to install a new rom in philz)
-download a stock 4.1.2 firmware (xxlsz preferably)
-update ur odin to 3.07
-flash the downloaded rom using odin
-now to root ur phone watch some tutorials about how to flash philz recovery using zip file without pc
-if u flash philz recovery properly (proper baseband version) ur problem should probably b solved
BUT U WILL LOOSE UR DATA

Help neede, firmware wont show up in flashtool.

So i downloaded 2 times the tft file from the xda post but it just wont show up in flashtool so i cant flash it.Any suggestion?I really need to downgrade my firmware.
