For the last week or so I've had this very strange Google Play behaviour. It basically goes like this:
1) You download an app. Everything's fine, you download at full speed.
2) The second time you download the app (to another device or reinstalling) download gets capped at exactly 1Mbit/s.
For me this is completely reproducible. A new app I've never downloaded before gets downloaded at full speed, any other attemps to download the app get capped.
Does anybody else see anything at all resembling this? I have some theories, but I need more information.
Would especially appreciate feedback from Altibox-customers in Norway.

Tried to run Dungeon Defenders. It will load from the Market so that is good. The intro screen loads. But normally it checks that you are on wifi before loading patches. Unfortunately on the nook it pops up an error message about the network and being unable to reach the host.
I know it isn't the network since it works fine on my droid x. Oh well having that would be kinda cool.
Anyone know a way around that issue?
Where does your problem appear? I get the title screen, unreal screen, game spy screen, intro video, menu, I can play locally, internet gaming I can select a character and then it asks to login into my gamespy account. I don't have one and I really don't want create one. As far as i can tell it works.
I installed the came a couple of weeks ago and then uninstalled it because i did not like it but I never removed the data from my sdcard. After I read your post I reinstalled and it still works. Keep in mind this game wants to download 600 MB. So if your nook goes to sleep and yourwifi turns off you could have issues. What sucks is that it was $6 wasted since the market refund policy is now 15 minutes. Google really needs to change that again. It took 1.5 hours before I could even play the game in order to try it. I have a 40Mb/s internet connection so the problem was the servers that provide the additional contend that needs to be downloaded.
Same exact thing happened to me.
Go here: [wont let me post a link] Go to the Dungeon Defenders main website, go to the forums and then to technical support, there will be a thread at the top that says ANDROID USERS: Solutions for anyone having installation problems of DunDef:FirstWave! and it will have a link to instructions on how to get it to work.
It runs for you? I got all of the data downloaded but then i crash during the loading screen
Well I'm not sure if it was the update to the program today or my reboot but in any event today it downloaded fine. Actually seems to run reasonably well although the interface is different on the NC then it is on the droid x. On the droid you move with a little joypad, with NC you click where you want to move to and the character moves there. Not quite sure how the game works as I didn't really play it much but it is bright and colorful and seems to run pretty good.
If a network error occurs, just click ok and then click on the dungeon defenders icon again, it will start where it left off and most likely fix itself. I've got Dungeon Defenders running perfectly and everything works. I was surprised at how smooth it was on the NC. You can enable the joystick in the options, and it is probably the only way you can do well at the game. I have never had a crash and rate it 9/10 on the NC (not my rating of the game, of how the nook runs it). There are millisecond hang-ups I would expect to see on any platform, but nothing bad.
Hey all, this is my first post here at XDA, but I have been trolling around for quite some time! Here's the background: I have my NC running Froyo internally and I LOVE it!!! Super fast, Quantum score after fresh boot high 1600's, sometimes low 1700's I have pretty much everything working exactly as I would like it, save for a few issues. I've been doing lots of searching, but haven't been able to find anything of particular help, so thought I'd post them.
1. Has anyone else had problems downloading files from within an internet browser, i.e. stock browser, Dolphin HD, Opera, etc.? For me, it doesn't matter what browser I use, I always get a "Download failed" notification. Made sure my "download" folder on SD card is set to Read & Write, still no luck. Any ideas?
2. Not sure if there's been any headway on this issue, but after trying at least 7 times, I still cannot get Market 2.2.11 to work. Is it a lost cause?
3. I have installed Flash 10.1, but can't get ANY Flash to work. I've tried every browser and checked every setting, but no dice. Have also reinstalled Flash several times, using various APKs, to no avail.
4. Tried to use Pandora today, looks like crap and doesn't really work. Does anybody have the Pandora APK from the stock B&N ROM? I didn't think to back it up, silly me. Bigger problem though is that headphone jack will not work, period. NC doesn't detect anything is plugged in (no change in status bar, and no sound through phones); tried three different sets of headphones, and nothing. Anybody else have this problem?
5. Lastly, I've set up my Exchange account several times (on different ROMs) on my Hero with no issues. I can't get it to work on the NC with either the stock email application (which I prefer) or K9. It always has issues with SSL, which is required.
Any thoughts or input, even if just corroboration of issues would be greatly appreciated.
Bumpity bump bump
Downloads queued in Play Store keep getting stuck between to successive downloads/installs!. I don't know what is exactly causing this. It seems I cannot download videos(multi threaded) via tube mate as well. Although I have flashed ROMs and done many resets it doesn't seem to fix. I doubt whether my OOM settings are interfering(really can they??). I think I found a solution ie. by using continuous ping to Google.com. But I want a more permanent and efficient solution. Pls help...thanks!
Hi,
I own a Z3 Compact that is currently running the stock Android 5.1.1 23.4.A.1.264 build number. I disabled STAMINA to verify that it wasn't the problem. For less than a month now (I don't remember if something changed at that time), my wifi started to not work properly, but it's not completely broken, let me explain :
If I run a speedtest, I get some normal 9ms ping, 29Mbps down, 10 Mbps up. The link state is reported as "Excellent" (292Mbps right now). But if I launch Instagram, a web page, or similar, everything takes ages to load. If I'm outside and deactivate wifi to use 4G, pages instantly load (or images for Instagram). When I say ages to load, I mean like 10 seconds and more.
Example : my Z3 takes 54 seconds to load a page on chrome (until everything is loaded) on wifi, while less than 4 seconds on 4G. I deleted the cache in between. To validate I used another website and did it the other way around (4G first, wifi second with cache clear in between). The wifi is great on my laptop...
It almost like if whenever it needs to access data, it sleeps for 10 seconds before actually doing the job. I used the Instagram example because it's very obvious in that app because of the large amount of data it uses when loading new pictures. I'm 100% certain that my phone wifi connection was 30 times better before at some point and that I never had any latency like that. Something obviously changed at some point.
I want to point out that I restarted the phone, reset the phone to factory default and nothing changed.
Do anyone have an idea what could cause that and a solution ? I have many ideas but can't find something that stands out :
1. My phone was damaged by a drop (that I remember but can't confirm it was at the same period) and only wifi was affected but not to the point where it doesn't work, it only adds some 10secs+ delay now (weird theory)
2. My phone got an update from Sony that broke something and I should flash an old version
3. My phone got an update from Sony that broke something and I should flash another system, like Cyanogen
Basically, I have been on Tek rom forever upgrading correctly as needed. Jus recently went to Marshmallow and Maximum Overdrives latest but noticed every so often my phone will act crazy. (lagging, freezing while screens off, and sometimes it'll place itself into download mode if the battery is too low and the error on the download mode will read (couldn't do normal boot)
If anyone is familiar, I'd like to know if it's as simple as a new battery or am I experiencing some kind of hardware failure?

Ooh. I've experienced this once or twice. You may just need a good Wipe of all on the phone and then for good measure do a fresh ODIN. That's what I did and all it well. But YMMV as always.
This isn't a battery related issue. However, having a spare battery never hurts.
