Play store continuous downloads getting stuck - Paid Software Announcement and Discussion

Downloads queued in Play Store keep getting stuck between to successive downloads/installs!. I don't know what is exactly causing this. It seems I cannot download videos(multi threaded) via tube mate as well. Although I have flashed ROMs and done many resets it doesn't seem to fix. I doubt whether my OOM settings are interfering(really can they??). I think I found a solution ie. by using continuous ping to Google.com. But I want a more permanent and efficient solution. Pls help...thanks!

On Froyo: Sky map install from market reboots phone, fails

Downloading Sky Map (and also one other app I've found, Speedx 3d), will crash my phone. It goes into the sparky-multicolour-X reboot and boots the phone on install (the download works, the status changes to "installing", and it reboots).
This is only since applying FRF50.
I've tried uninstalling both and starting over with them, but no dice. In the past, both were on my apps2sd list on Cyanogenmod 5.0.7.
TIA for any ideas.
Hi,
I'm sorry I can't offer a solution, but I just wanted to report that I have the exact same problem, after FRF50 (and the problem persists with FRF83).
I've noticed my phone occasionally reboots at (seemingly) random occasions, sometimes two or three times a day, sometimes not at all... I don't know if it's related though.
I'm really busy at the moment, so I haven't had any time to look at the log files, but I'll try to let you know if I find a solution.
+1
Have the same problem...
... any resolution in sight?

[Q] Weird Google-Play download cap

For the last week or so I've had this very strange Google Play behaviour. It basically goes like this:
1) You download an app. Everything's fine, you download at full speed.
2) The second time you download the app (to another device or reinstalling) download gets capped at exactly 1Mbit/s.
For me this is completely reproducible. A new app I've never downloaded before gets downloaded at full speed, any other attemps to download the app get capped.
Does anybody else see anything at all resembling this? I have some theories, but I need more information.
Would especially appreciate feedback from Altibox-customers in Norway.

[Q] [Google Play Edition] Plants Vs. Zombies 2 crashing

tl;dr PvZ2 is almost unplayable on Google Play Edition ROM. Does anyone else have similar problems or a fix?
Trying to play PvZ2 has become a nightmare. It almost always crashes after the initial flower loading animation (when it's loading the map). I've managed to get around this occasionally by converting it to a system app and rebooting. Sometimes it gets passed the animation, most of the time it crashes again. Once the I leave the app and it gets removed from memory it crashes again, at that point I convert it back to a user app and cross my fingers. Rinse and repeat.
This seems to be an issue with some users based on Play Store reviews, especially GPE users. Is anyone else having similar issues or a fix?

Not working here either on a T-Mobile S4 with GPE ROM -___- It's pathetic that 1: they didn't think to test PvZ2 on probably the best phone off them all and 2: it still hadn't been patched or even confirmed as a known issue. I've read that changing build.prop can fix it but I can't figure out how. As usual, the guy that knows a fix never reports back with it -___-

Cm12 google play crashes

hey i for a while been haveinga problem with google play constantly crashing whenever i try tio use it after an update and i am constantly haveing to uninstall and "revert to factory version" then it will work for a little bit before the bugger starts to update again, i was hopeing this was only goign to happen for a little bit till newer non crashing version is released but it constantly dose the same thing.
is there anyway to stop this from doing this consistentaly? should i upgrade my rom since one i'm on now discontinued? or better solution to just make this stop, im sure its wreakign havock on the flash memory with constant semi-reinstall of google play app.

My recommendation is to perform a clean installation of Lineage 12.1. Google Play crash issues are a bear to diagnose/remediate. In many cases reflashing the ROM + GAaps the only reasonable solution taking into consideration time and effort. Running with a discontinued ROM doesn't help matters. I realize this isn't the answer you were hoping for but probably the best response short of trying a bunch of things that may or may not work.

S10 SM-G973F - huge stability issues

Hello everyone!
I'm experiencing very serious stability issues with my S10 SM-G973F running stock unrooted PDA/AP G973FXXUGHVJ5, CSC G973FOXMGHVJ5, MODEM/CP G973FXXUGHVJ1.
It started one day ago and the effect is apps crashing immediately after being started. And it affects all types of apps - Galaxy Store, Samsung Email client, banking apps.
Clearing cache partition seems to resolve the issue for a couple of minutes, after which the instability starts again.
I've never experienced such behavior with any Android phone so far.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
Try in safe mode.
Back up all critical data... probably not going any where good
In safe mode it seems to be running fine. Is there a memtest app for Android or logging tool that can help me identify the reason?

Were any new apps added or updated?
Power management and launchers especially.
See what's running in Developer options>running services and Device Care>Memory. In Device Care try clearing all the cache apps then when it starts to misbehave see what apps just opened.
I've used that method successfully and avoided a reload.
I see nothing suspicious. Clearing the memory from Device care doesn't solve the issue.
I guess next step is hard reset...

Find the root cause. Otherwise it's likely to reoccur after the factory reset.
The only exception to this is undeletable malware or a boot loop (which is where you might be headed).
Before a factory reset try setting all settings to factory; this is a major inconvenience but not as bad as a factory reset.
Best to find and correct the root cause instead... it's staring right at you, look for it.
Many thanks for your feedback!
Is undeletable malware even possible on unrooted phone? I haven't installed anything new lately and my phone is very stock... And I almost never install anything outside Google Play - definitely not in the last months... On a regular computer I would run a memtest in a preboot environment. As far as I see - there is no such option on Android...

Unlikely but not impossible. An app that passed the Playstore tests can latter update a malicious payload, so there's that. Occasionally the user may inadvertently download a trojan preloader (or other malware) or it may slip past the browser and download itself. If it retrieves its payload, boom; many times it does so through a second website (linked to the first) if you click on it or are redirected to it. It's important to check the download folder daily for anything you didn't download. Social media sites can serve as a haven for these packages and conveniently link the preloader and payload all on that site.
Always back out of bad sites or close the tab, or close the browser than open/close tab or if all that fails clear browser cache, or worst case delete browser data. Doing this can save you a lot of... fun Brave browser is very well harden, nothing has ever breached it. Samsung is pretty good but I've seen it breached. A trojan preloader made it through without me approving the download, but it was deleted before it retrieved its payload
Scan with Malwarebytes, it may spot it if present.
More than likely it isn't malware. Android 9 and above are reasonably secure unless you do something stupid.
Just for the record if someone is experiencing the same issue - 24 hours after hard reset it seems that the problem is gone.
