I just thought i would try this as im going on a bus trip at the weekend and my phone doesn't tend to have very good battery life but i just noticed if you have a USB OTG cable and plug your phone into it with it's standard USB cable you can charge your phone via USB with your Nexus 7
Probably a bit of pointless information but i thought i would just point it out incase anyone else was wondering this like i was
Interesting, but then you have to charge your nexus because you just drained its battery. You can also charge your phone using the nexus charger without any damage to your phone.
He said that he is on a bus trip! Kind of difficult to find a plug on a bus...

This is good stuff... your phone is your main communication anyway (calls , texts , 3G/4G) .... you're on a long trip ... you got your Nexii with you but may not use it till you hit some reliable WiFi... why not use it as a booster battery till you get where you're going?? Handy little bit of info to have in a pinch for sure
That would be really cool if you could. The N7 has a 3900 MAH battery, right? If it does, it would be enough to charge a phone 2-3 times.

Anyway, how do you calculate how man times you can charge your phone? 4000/2000=2 lol? Don't need to calculate there're still to many other stuff to think about.
Just trying it to say how many times you can charge.
But this is really useful info. Thank you!

One more reason to add is that the seller is the only one who ships to India.

Be careful. It looks like this auction is only for the cover, even though the touchstone charging unit is shown in some of the pictures.
As for wireless charging: 450mA limit kills it for me.
This seems more convincing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...h-Stone-NFC-working-White-/200834518435#payId
Is there any model which will work with a case?
specifically
http://www.ebay.com/itm/390496469694?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
1A ! it will take double the time to charge than with the 2A stock charger ! no need for it !

This is the first I've heard of a limit. Where did you read or find out about that? I've seen wireless charging units that are 1A.
If you're rooted, type the following in terminal while charging and divide that number by 10. This will give you the mah.
Code:
cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/batt_current_adc
case

Just got the same kit yesterday (different seller though).
Charges at +/- 500Ma which is plenty in my opinion as I tend to charge while I'm working.
Does NOT work with any case I have, even the Rearth Slim but again, not a dealbreaker for me.

Wireless charging is inefficient. Expect about 300-700mah charging and 600-700mah is optimistic. With a case on expect charging to be on the lower end.

Guys I would be skeptical about this. It is just the cable so you are gonna use the same charger transformer so it is not gonna charge any faster and 26 bucks totals seems like a rip. Also is this just for charging or can it transfer data? I'm gonna wait.

Once the OEM POGO cable comes out it'll cost about the same price. I'd wager it costs a little more because it's an "official" part.
As far as charging speed, it's already been found that the N10 is only pulling somewhere between 1.5 and 1.8 amps out of a USB 2.0 cable, which is a limitation of the cable itself and not the transformer. The theory being passed around the forums is that the POGO cable doesn't have the same limitation and can draw the full 2 amps.
Either way, leave us to check it out if you're skeptical. We're not signing any organs away. We know what we're getting into.

Never seen an app for it.
The only accurate way is to use an external ammeter. You could get a rough number using a household energy monitor, but that would include current used by the power supply
There are a few electrical engineers around this board, someone with a decent lab psu could graph the charging process start to finish

That's pretty much how all battery cases work. The cases themselves have a usb port you use to charge the case and phone at the same time.

No problem. Anytime...The Moto X is a great phone and I'm glad to see that the 3rd party manufacturers are getting on board with Motorola to really get these accessories out to the many owners of this phone.
Depending on your usage you may not need it. I had a Nexus as well, and used to charge it 3+ times a day. With the X so far I can make it though a full day without issue.

With my phone completely stock and having Wi-F ( never on Wi-Fi though)i, BT, auto brightness etc enabled all the time, I'm getting 4hrs screen time, 1 hour talk with 16hrs off the charger and still ending the day with 20%+ battery life. If I root, debloat and greenify, I'm certain I could get 5+hrs screen 2hrs talk and have more left in that same period... But I'm sticking stock for the time being as it's almost perfect the way it is.
With my sgs3 I'd have to fully charged it sometime early afternoon to use it this much.

It sat on a pillow, in a box [so it would'nt collect dust] the whole night, connected to the charger ofcourse [as I had around 87 Percent at the end of the day I decided to charge it]
This morning I woke up and had to go straight to work, ofcourse I won't bring my lovely new HTC ONE to work, so I left it there and forgot it was charging.

Did I harm the battery? it sat there charging for 16 hours. since 0:00 - 16:30.

People really should stop spreading that full initial charge BS seriously, it's 2013!
Unless you buying an electric power drill with a nickel cadmium or nickel metal-hydride battery, there's NO reason to top it off before using it or to charge for 8 hours! You're not prolonging the life of your battery nor are you preventing a memory effect by fully charging it.
