Polaris Office from stock rom to a custom rom - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've flashed a AOSP rom and it doesn't come with Polaris Office, are there any guides on how to get Polaris Office from stock to another rom please? Thank you.

may be try this. not sure if this will work. if u have a nandroid backup of ur stock rom. then check in the data.ext4.tar there u will find the apk for polaris office

just open stock ROM with 7zip on computer, search around for apk transfer and install on phone

I guess many people don't have 5830i....(only Indians have it though as the phone was released only for India..)
So wait for a while...most of the 5830i users ain't rooted and it will take time for the users to find your post. I wonder why Samsung released a different regional version of the phone..it isn't a good concept(for devving atleast! ).
If you have deleted the file by mistake, you can always use Odin to reflash the rom you are in. You can get the firmware file of 5830i from sammobile.com...
Or if you want, I can send the file you want from my s5830 if you want.
IMO...it will take some time for you to get the file..!

Even though we will extract the required file by using
Xplore application

Iam porting cm7 for GT-S5360
That file will act as colour fix for that device
I dont know how to extract an .img file

Mr.n00b-insulter,if you are such a genius, you would know that extracting firmwares of ALL Samsung phones are not possible. For example,S-5830i.Download some firmware from sammobile.com,extract the zip, would love to see how you would extract the firmware and get /system and boot.img

But I did not unpack system.img yet. I think I have to do it in Android kitchen when I get some free time. My mom aimt letting me touch my pc due to exams. Maybe I'll try it during this weekend.
But if the rom is froyo, it would suck.
So I have to just use froyo drivers or abandon it.

I waz gonna recommend unyaffs.
Or else there's another way. Coz sometimes unyaffs doesn't work.
Anyways you've got it so it's ok.
It's Froyo? ahh that sucks.
go to miscellanous android development and post a thread asking for links.

I emailed a user who has the phone asking for a system dump.
BTW I tried out the apps of Gooapple. They have included two launchers, one the iPhone style and the other the stock android launcher.
The stock android launcher works perfectly in CM7 but all the Gooapple apps get launched for one second and then close without any warning. I think they require a framework or some libs.
I need some help on this....

Yup. Should be libs.
Try getting the logcat..
for that just check up some guides, and you'll need to download Android-SDK. Even download Dsixda kitchen and apkmanager..they might be helpful later.
Do you have unlimited internet or a data plan?
Or else, you can upload the files to MediaFire. And i'll download and do some tests, and even try to help you port.

Go to cocore 9.0 thread and choose a version, 8.6 is nice and battery life is good. Just read the flash process.
If that worked go to Android development and look for bloatware remover for touchwiz ROM, again just read OP

No man, you even don't have to go in recovery  Just download one of the kernel and put boot.img in your phone or externel SD card and open UKF (kernel flasher) and select boot.img (you need file manager like es file or root explorer) and flash it, after that you need to reboot.

@smeth_90 make sure you extract boot.img file from the zip with winrar/winzip or any other program.

1) Download cocore 8.6 kernel (look in original Android development).
2) extract the kernel.bin file
3) place kernel.bin file somewhere in your phone
4) open ukf and insert the boot.img (YOU NEED ES FILE MANAGER OR ROOT EXPLORER TO ADD THE FILE)
5) You now have now inserted kernel.bin file so now press flash kernel image.
6) He will say reboot phone, so reboot your phone.

He had a mistake, it should be kernel.bin.md5, not boot.img - boot.img is for CM.

No, everything is ok. Just there is no boot.img in that zip. But there is kernel.bin.md5 - use it in step 4 of explanation. :good:
Both kernels are the same, just one recovery is with touch interface, and on the other one you need to use hardware buttons.
Oh..so i just put one kernal in external sd card..then i flash it using ukf?for root manager software use for what?

I think it can be used, if not I am sure it works with ES file explorer.
