I have never rooted a phone before but I have so much bloatware on my phone that I need to get rid of. I have followed all the intrustions on the website how to geek and was somewhat successful. The problem I am having now is that superone click keeps freezing after my phone reboots. I no longer know what else to do. I have never rooted a phone before in my life but when my bloatware started draining my battery in 4 hours I know I have an issue. Please help a novice!

Hey guys, I've had my captivate for about 3 months and I love it. Well, I loved it until the at&t update about a month ago. I dont know if it caused the problem, but since that week or so, Ive had crashing problems with my apps. It started with the messaging app. Everything freezes, I still get haptic feedback, and then the sms fails, sometimes the phone and some games too. So I downloaded handcent and that worked for about a day without crashing, and now it wont open half the time. I have never rooted my phone, but I use launcherpro if that helps.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can fix it?
Have you flashed any custom roms or did you just do the at &t update? I can make some suggestions but they would require you to root your phone. Otherwise call at &t
Captivate
Cog 2.2
Why don't you just simply use the Odin one click and go back to the firmware from before the at&t update?

Hi, I'm a noob on xda-developppers so yea, everybody hates me. But I would really appreciate any kind of help with this problem, which is:
I have had my htc incredible s for about a month now, and I love it. Only problem is, recently, it started crashing for no apparent reason and upon restarting, I send a troubleshoot message to htc. This has happened 8 times, and now the phone has crashed and refuses to start. The alarm woke me up at night and everything was fine with the phone, so I went back to sleep and 15 minutes later it refused to start. I've tried changing battery, charging, hooking it up to the computer... Nothing works, and it won't even acknowledge that it is being charged. I have no idea why it is doing this, especially since it's only a month old!
Can anyone help?
Restore to factory settings?
if that doesn't work, return it to HTC, might be hardware. i assume you're not yet flashing any custom ROMS right?
Try a factory reset as cardiii suggested ... If that dosent fix it ... Run a ruu ... If that dosent work either ... Then get a replacement ...
This might be cuz of some app u installed ... Anything installed before this happend?

Why don't you try to root and flash some roms to make a change with your phone ? I tried and that's so great.
Claim it and ask for new. Looks like HW issue.

Apply alpharevx and install custom roms !!!
or if u have a S-OFF Phone then Use ADB and get your phone rooted and install clockworldmod recovery !!!. Try getting your phone booted for once atleast and do not turn off , till you complete these Steps and install a custom ROM !!!
Looks like a bad application is causing it....

Its a Hong Kong bought LG P990 with GB, bought two years old. Rooted but 100% stock, just deleted pre-installed apps. At first it happened only once in a while, now maybe 1-3 times a day. It won't turn on. I don't know if its actually off or if the power button doesn't work. So I have to pull the battery and restart.
Its seems that about a year ago one day the power button require quite a bit of pressing to get it to turn on. Like I have to push really hard just to get it to turn on. Its been that way ever since. I always would have to do a restart every week or so because the thing would get REALLY buggy or REALLY slow. Then it started to not turn at all, the power button. It would do that about once a month, then once a week, then three times a day yesterday. This happen exponentially.
Its always been buggy and slow. I only have about 10 apps on it. Barely using any space.
Is it dying? How to tell if your smartphone is dying? How often do people replace their smartphones?
hi! you should try to:
a) flash the rom again and try to do it as clean as you can(try a hard reset then flash)
b)either use a rom that is already modded without the apps that you care to get rid off or watch if the problem is caused by the removal of unwanted app
c)have a little patience and test
hope it helps!

Thank you for your help. But I did the root and deletion of stock apps a long time ago. Why is this problem starting to get worst now? Or are you referring to the general slowness?
I never flashed a rom before so I don't really want to start. Unless its the clear answer to solve my problems. Is that what your suggesting? I have thought abut it, but I wonder how much worst I can make it. Plus, I am just scared I'll screw it up.
My v20s stock rooted rom was performing pretty well by my standards but after changing basebands and removing some unwanted apps i had some trouble with playstore(after using 3g internet, when switching to wi-fi it would not download or update apps) and the phone sometimes just shut off removing the battery being the only way to solve both problems.
Since i flashed the new v30a everything is peachy except the phone and that damn chrome app are a bit laggy sometimes(mostly chrome).
My advice to you is to ,one by one, try to eliminate each possible cause. Also flashing a new stock rom is not hard(and i guess neither a custom one tho i have no experience with that) so have no fear and please do read the tutorials for each rom. Good luck!
I have a verizon bionic. It has been a reliable phone for a long time to me. I don't have it on contract at all, and only use it on wifi. Ive rooted the phone with motofail, and have had it rooted for some time. I run basic Liberty 3 v2.0
Recently, it has started with this debilitating issue. The phone is on when this happens. The screen will turn on, but the phone will not respond to touch, even though the lockscreen is visible, livewallpaper is working, and music may even be playing. The control buttons (home. menu, etc) respond with haptic feed back, but causes no reaction on the phone. I have restored the phone to complete stock, rerooted and flashed Liberty 3 v2.0, in hopes of fixing this issue, to no avail.
Also, that is the ONLY rom that I can flash on the device. I use CWM bootstrapper. When flashing any others, I get a verification failure, status 0. I doubt these issues are related, but I dont know. I have searched for help on this and can find nothing useful. Any help is appreciated, the phone is practically useless because I have to battery pull to use it every few minutes. I love this phone.
Thanks,
Hanz
Have you tried accessing it with adb via your PC when it happens? Anything in any of the logs?
Actually, Towelroot may not be related, but oddly enough my phone did a couple of app updates and then Tmobile could tell my phone was rooted. Then it started acting really weird. I got a green LED notification but had none in any apps. The stock keyboard gets really laggy. (1 press per 4 seconds), if you try to long press to move a widget/button or anything, the phone hangs up.
I am almost convinced it is something Tmo is doing. The phone shows in Tmo My Accounts that the phone is rooted.
I tried to unroot (SuperUser is a no-go), I tried downgrading using downgrade methods but I get an error and it shuts down. I don't know where to start now. My phone will be kicked back from Tmo if I try to send it in. I knew one day Root Exploits would catch up with me.
If anyone has a bright idea other than wait till there is a fix, I am all ears.

Has nothing to do with rooting your phone. I wasn't rooted for 2 months and it was doing that switch to the g3 keyboard in the g2 thread use the apk installer

The new android L keyboard in the playstore is really smooth too. No lag, good feel, has emojis if that matters to you. There's a thread in the apps section for the 5.0 keyboard you can manually install and it'll have more skins but the easiest way is to install from the playstore.
Edit: T-mobile keeps track of rooting somehow? How have I never heard that!? Seems like something a Dev or someone would have figured out how to block or what app they're using to spy. That sucks especially in regards to warranty etcetera being denied.
Its not just the Keyboard. I too switched the thumb keyboard which resolves the lagging key-input, but there is also a blinking green led notification that won't go out and I can't answer the phone because touch input (drags and long presses) are buggered.
I have installed TWRP, gonna Try to install a rom and fix it
