Hi,
I got I9001 plus running stock 2.3.5 - I rooted the device successfully - post that i installed cwm v6 and even that was successful, however when i went to recovery i see that i am unable to select any option from home button or power button. When ever i press home button it just scrolls down and power button does nothing. I tried flashing recovery using odin - however odin doesnt detect my device even though i had all drivers, now i am stuck in recovery or download mode. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

you can use My Android Solutions to solve it
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
(Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.)

Oding detects the device but when i select cwm .tar file in pda it says "invalid image type"
if odin detect your device it is easy !
There's a solution to this problem in this post.

look at My Android Solutions it has soultions for so many problems you may encounter
Problem:- Odin gets Stuck on <ID:0/008> Set PIT file. or <ID:0/003> SetupConnection.. or <ID:0/007> Removed!
Note:
When using Odin to Flash, Open task manager and close these : Kies.exe , KiesTrayAgent.exe, and KiesPDLR.exe
IF your downloaded File (.tar, .zip, .md5 .rar ) is corrupted, Odin could get stuck too, so download from another source, if it happens repeatedly

"E:\" can't wipe , how can i fomat E: partition ?
i'm keeping on wait
thank you
lets get this correct download mode works
Flashed to Eclair but still fails to boot as voodoo was enabled /is enabled .
Therefore phone cannot be seen by PC and cannot boot to format .
can you get into clockwork recovery mode and format from that and wipe all data .

i'm not good at English , so "Eclair" means 2.1 rom ?
1. when it turn off i can't get in recovery mode ,so voodoo is enabled when i flashed 2.2 rom .
2. i used a software named "UC xunlei" to down a salmpe 720P RMVB video at that time . then it turned off.
3. clockwork recovery can't use . only samsung recovery mode can get in.
4. my i9000 was sending to Samsung service centre yesterday, but they said "maybe they can't repair it either"
"sigh................."
I'll try to walk you through step by step through a method that has never failed..If it still fails then your internal SD might have issues..
1. Download XXJPU firmware from samfirmware.com
http://www.multiupload.com/PUSOOBQ8K5
The password to this zip file is: samfirmware.com
Once the file is extracted, you will have 4 files in it:
GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJPU.tar.md5
I9000XXJPU-REV03-PDA-low-CL747761.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000XXJPU.tar.md5
s1_odin_20100512.pit
2. Open Odin
Download here: http://db.tt/QuA1G6s
That is a sure working Odin. The one I use. Extract that and run Odin3 v1.3.exe
3. In Odin:
check Re-Partition
Click PIT and select s1_odin_20100512.pit
Check and click PDA and select I9000XXJPU-REV03-PDA-low-CL747761.tar.md5
Check and click PHONE and select I9000XXJPU-REV03-PDA-low-CL747761.tar.md5 The file that has MODEM in its file name.. SORRY!!!!!
Check and click CSC and select GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJPU.tar.md5
Do not touch any of the other options. Leave them the way they are.
3. Exit Kies (make sure it is not running AT ALL).
4. Put your phone into DOWNLOAD mode (volume down + power + home) and plug into your computer
5. Click START in Odin... if Odin gets stuck for a LONG time (progress bar isn't moving at all in both phone and Odin).. unplug phone, pull battery, restart computer and repeat from step 2.
6. Once Odin says it succeeded wait for phone to reboot.
7. If you still encounter the same error then report back here... I might have another idea. Hopefully you don't get the error again though...
Edit:
If that fails you can read this guy's post..
This guy seemed to have been lucky and got is supposed dead I9000m SGS working again. Here's his procedure:

I can go in download modus and in recovery mode, but i cannot flash a ROM. I tried a couple of 2.2.1 ROMS
it dispaly " DATA_LOOP=FALSE CACHE_LOOP=FALSE DBDATA_LOOP=FALSE BIND_DATE_TO_DBDATA=FALSE"
now, i still can't wipe or fomat my internal SD Card
notice"E:can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)

also it shows "Error mounting /mnt/sdcard/ android_secure!

ok, lets try this again
First remove battery and reinsert
1) "Select OPS" AriesVE.ops
2) Unzip/unrar the ROM you are flashing.
If it's a single .tar.md5 file, check the option "One Package" in Odin and then load the .tar.md5 file using the One Package button at the very bottom. Odin will load it and check the MD5 checksum. and should be over in ten minutes
If your ROM consists of several .smd files,
Select Boot_loader.tar under BOOT
Select Modem under PHONE
Select PDA under PDA
Select CSC under CSC .
Press Start, Flashing should take about 10 minutes
If it fails, than try again with protect ops unchecked

minimum time is not less than 10 min, so give it time, yes protect ops should be checked, inly If failed than try unchecked
I solved this problem with BroodROM RC5 all-in-one tar file, here is what I did:

B) Use other USB port
C) Remove KIES and downloaded standalone drivers pack
D) Sit back and waited for 30 minutes until flashing complete

Boss u do this things correctly step by step...........
1. U just uninstall whatever u installed for ur samsung mobile drivers like( kies,driver,etc...)
2. U download this file (http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/SAMSUNG-USB-Driver-for-Mobile-Phones-15150.shtml) and install on ur computer
3. U connect ur mobile to computer by using USB cable
4. Power off ur mobile and goto download mode(power off + volume down + menu key)
5. Ur mobile turns into download mode( yellow board with Android icon)
6. Open Odin 1.85 in your computer........when open the Odin 1.85 yellow icon enable on rightside top with this text(com14,com16,com17.....). If u not see the yellow icon in Odin 1.85 u just press the power button one time and then enter to the download mode
7. When u see the yellow icon OK ready to select the jw4 ROM files(PDA,PHONE,CSC,PIT(512 OR 513)......don't turn off application or phone........If u get any error on Odin 1.85...... u want to enter the download mode another time without disconnect the USB cable........when the installing complete ur mobile will be automatically reboot
8. When ur mobile reboot it automatically complete final installation process...... if u get red errors on stock recovery mode u just clear only wipe cache and dont clear wipe all data..........reboot system now:good:
Correctly u do this process step by step means it will workkkkkkkkkkk:victory:

Put out the Battery for a few Minutes and then try again to go in Downloadmode. If it doesn't help, than you can try the Method in Broodplanks Tutorial (Chapter three). credits to Broodplank.

Hello everybody
I have tried to find something about getting the phone back to stock but with no success
Here is my problem :
I have changed the stock recovery and added 2 mods , old tv shutdown , and a battery mod . about 1 year ago
I think my phone has some hardware problems because it keeps shutting down for no apparent reason and it does this a few times a day and i want to take it back to Vodafone to be checked on warranty .
I want to retun it to the stock out of the box but i have problems finding how to restore the stock recovery , is there a way ?
Can i delete the 2 mods without flashing the whole ROM ?
Sorry if this topic is redundant with another but i didn't find it .
I have a samsung galaxy s plus i9001 Vodafone Romania
Other info :
2.3.5
base band : i9001BUKP1
version number GINGERBREAD.BUKP2
R: Back to Stock Recovery
You can find the stock recovery in the i9001 wiki page, bit i think that flashing it would be useless for your problem. You should do a nandroid backup before installing any mod...
Inviato dal mio frigo a pedali.
i have found the following information
Stock recovery
If for some reason you ever need to go back to stock recovery, wintel_mac has prepared a zip you can install in CWM or FeaMod:
9001_stock_recovery-signed.zip

But not sure how to use the file ...
I have made a back-up with Titanium before adding the 2 Modes .
fast way to get it back: Download you exact same firmware from sammobile.com and flash it with odin! you are back to very very stock! take it to vodafone and you are done!!
if you have putted some tweak on it this ethod will also remove it so you are totally sure about the warranty to be back! If you are rooted before perform this action download and flash from recovery the un-root zip from the guide!
for information about odin and this other stuff please refer to the guide! there is everything explained! If you have anymore dubts visit q&q i9001 thread inthe q&a section of the i9000 forum!
ok, so i changed the recovery now i have the stock one , i have made a recovery with Titanim and the old tv shud down has gone , but the batery MOD is still active , any ideea on how tk delete it ?

Maybe you're using a CWM with the menu button ?
And it's not true that you only can get in RAMDUMP mode. when your device is off. hold volume down + power until you see download mode, if that doesn't work try this:
quoted from my unbrick tutorial:
CHAPTER 3. Getting in Download Mode
If your Samsung Galaxy S Plus is (partially) bricked and you have BSOD:
1. Unplug your phone if its connected to your PC
2. Hold Vol UP + Vol Down + Power, the screen will flash black
3. Continue holding down all 3 buttons, you will see the BSOD screen again, continue holding all 3 buttons, the screen will flash black again
4. Release the power button only. This will put you into Download Mode
Don’t expect it to work the first time you try it. If it keeps failing try the alternative:
1. Start Odin Multi Downloader
2. Connect your phone (which is in BSOD) to the PC
3. Wait till Windows finished installing drivers and Odin recognized your phone
4. Hold Vol Down + Home + Power, once the black screen flashes, release the Power button. This will put you into Download Mode
If this also doesn’t work and you are getting nervous about your situation:
1. Go to DealXtreme, this small product of $1.60 can help getting in download mode instantly
2. Buy it and wait for it’s arrival (the shipping is free but it can take a few days, so you will have no phone at that time)
3. Now when your phone is off, plugin the jig and wait until it goes on, now it will go in download mode and you’re ready to go
oh and the odin bug is very common, just restart odin and try again

First this is not where to ask, just so that you know!
Second, i really sugget to go back to stock compleatly and then proceed again to get CM9.
So always via odin flash you original firmware from sammobile.
For the messages that odin gives, try all the port on your computer, due to the fact that not all port works with it! when i use odin on my virtual machin with windows xp sometimes one of my usb works sometime the other. but the pc is always the same, so try them ALL!
If instead you want to try and flash just a custom recovery use broodplank quickflasher! it is easy and safe!
hope it works out!
maybe you misunderstood me , i will try be a little more explicit , so :
my phone is not bricked at this moment , I only tried to explain all the steps that got me to the current situation
i am able now to go in recovery mode (but this recovery does not allow me to do anything because the home button doesn't enable anything , only scrolls throw the menu , i explained in the previous post) and in download mode ...
the problem is that after i flashed the boot_loader after being stuck in RAMDUMP that solved the BSOD when i try to flash another recovery with odin it does not work and i don't think is a port problem because odin recognizes the phone , it gets stuck at <1> VerifyPlatform:V0, P0,R0 and does nothing .
in summary :
-flash sotck recovery with clockworkmod recovery v6.0.1.3 (not with odin)
-flash with odin a zip file by mistake got the phone semi-brick , BSOD only RAMDUMP worked
-flashd with odin from BSOD the bootloader and got the phone back
-not able to flash anoter recovery with odin because the above problem
solutions ?

try from another pc. or battery pull let it be half an hour insert battery and try again. as things are now you can just try again and again to flash something.
or try out heimdall, i don't know if i9001 is supported but maybe it can work!
I solved the problem , after this post we cand consider the end of this topic.
The problem was due to the fact that i was using Android Reboot to get in recovery or Download mode , even if the phone showed me like i was in download mode i had the above error <1> VerifyPlatform:V0, P0,R0 even if the com port was open in odin ... after booting in download mode by pressing the buttons odin was able to flash the recovery .
What i learnd from this experience :
clockworkmod recovery v6.0.1.3 is not stable and for my device it didn't worked , not to be use
do not use .bat reboots to get in download mode when using odin
otherwise i now run CM10 with phantom kernel , i hope the phone doesn't restarts like before
thanks to everyone for the help and support
best regards
AW: Back to Stock Recovery
you have cm10 with other kernel and stock recovery? why? you must have for updates cwm or twrp recovery. a stable cwm is version 5.5.4.
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9001 mit Tapatalk 2
i have the following :
cwm version 5.5.4

Hy
New question .
Can i use a custom kernel on a stock ROM ? Right now my phone is stock , i'm wondering if i install clickmod recovery and flush the custom kernel will it work .

Hi!
I try to Instal ClockworkMod on my Samsung Galaxy S Plus to install CyanogenMod 10.1. I use this tutorial for that:
Pre-requisites:
Make sure that you have charged your mobile at least up to 70% so that installation process will occur without any interruption.
It is recommended that you should take a backup of all your important personal data such as SMS, MMS, APN, contacts etc. to the external microSD card.
You must install your mobile’s drivers on PC. If you have installed Kies on your computer then you don’t need to install it separately.
Procedure to install Clockworkmod recovery on Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001:
First download Odin v4.43 software and install it on your PC. It is necessary for flashing recovery on mobile.
Download Clockworkmod recovery for Samsung Galaxy S Plus.
Also download AriesVE OPS file.
Now you have to boot your mobile into downloading mode. For that, first switch off your mobile then press & hold volume down + power button + home button simultaneously until it shows downloading message on your screen.
Now connect mobile to PC via USB cable.
Launch Odin software which you have installed previously on your PC. You will see Added!! message in Odin’s message box. If you won’t get this message make sure that you have installed mobile drivers properly.
Now click on the OPS button and then select AriesVE OPS file.
Click One Package button on Odin and select cwm6032-ariesve-touch-odin.tar file which you have downloaded earlier.
Ensure that Auto-Reboot and F.Resest Time is checked. Make sure that you haven’t clicked anywhere else.
Hit start button to flash recovery on mobile. After successful installation of recovery your mobile rebooted automatically. At the same time you will get pass message in Odin’s message box.
However if you mobile get stuck or you get a fail message then exit the Odin, disconnect mobile from computer, remove battery and re-insert it and follow the above procedure again.
Well done! Clockworkmod Recovery is now installed on your Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001. Do let us know how it is working. If you any query regarding this article, you can ask us freely. We will try our level best to solve it.
Note: For entering into Clockworkmod recovery press & hold volume up + power button + home button simultaneously.
