ok, lets try this again
First remove battery and reinsert
1) "Select OPS" AriesVE.ops
2) Unzip/unrar the ROM you are flashing.
If it's a single .tar.md5 file, check the option "One Package" in Odin and then load the .tar.md5 file using the One Package button at the very bottom. Odin will load it and check the MD5 checksum. and should be over in ten minutes
If your ROM consists of several .smd files,
Select Boot_loader.tar under BOOT
Select Modem under PHONE
Select PDA under PDA
Select CSC under CSC .
Press Start, Flashing should take about 10 minutes
If it fails, than try again with protect ops unchecked

Is it normal that it now seems to be on "recovery.img download" for like 9 minutes?
I used the above CWM For flashing with Odin, AriesVE.ops and provided Odin version (verified same odin version was used as previous attempts).
The "Protect OPS" check box is checked, right?

minimum time is not less than 10 min, so give it time, yes protect ops should be checked, inly If failed than try unchecked

I solved this problem with BroodROM RC5 all-in-one tar file, here is what I did:
A) Remove the .md5 extension and make it .tar
B) Use other USB port
C) Remove KIES and downloaded standalone drivers pack
D) Sit back and waited for 30 minutes until flashing complete

tried with the "Protect OPS" unchecked (just in case), left it a fair 10+ minutes, no indication, etc...
I'll try darristan suggestion. But excuse me for asking to be a bit more elaborate as far as steps are concerned, it's like 7:30 AM here and had a long night...
Is there a post relative to darristan downloads and/or procedures?

Try doing to Download Mode combo.. (Vol- Home Power) then hit start.
Luckier than me, the stock ROM I flashed through Ace had a corrupt boot.img- happy hard brick
So i press vol down & home & power! that's what i;ve been doing.
did you solve it ?
a yellow exclamation mark between a pc and phone icon is it?
try this.
take off battery, let the phone stay for around 10 seconds, press the three button combination for download mode (the home+vol down+power) and while u still holding those three button reinsert the battery. now device should go into download mode and u can properly flash with odin.

yes, i've got the same error exclamation screen before and i did personally test the force into download mode trick
I downloaded another stock rom to see if it's not from the other Stock i'm flashing but the one i'm flashing i'm sure 100% it's working...the new one have 3 .tar.md5 files here's the names:
APBOOT_S5830JPKP9_CL457554_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
CODE_S5830JPKP9_CL457554_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
GT-S5830-MULTI-CSC-OJPKP3.tar.md5
1. this isnot a one package stock?
2. shall i try another ODIN version
3. shall this be due to the OPS file?

Hi,
I got I9001 plus running stock 2.3.5 - I rooted the device successfully - post that i installed cwm v6 and even that was successful, however when i went to recovery i see that i am unable to select any option from home button or power button. When ever i press home button it just scrolls down and power button does nothing. I tried flashing recovery using odin - however odin doesnt detect my device even though i had all drivers, now i am stuck in recovery or download mode. Any suggestions?

you can use My Android Solutions to solve it
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
(Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.)

Problem:- Odin gets Stuck on <ID:0/008> Set PIT file. or <ID:0/003> SetupConnection.. or <ID:0/007> Removed!
Note:
When using Odin to Flash, Open task manager and close these : Kies.exe , KiesTrayAgent.exe, and KiesPDLR.exe
IF your downloaded File (.tar, .zip, .md5 .rar ) is corrupted, Odin could get stuck too, so download from another source, if it happens repeatedly

Too long instaling CWM with Odin?

Hi!
I try to Instal ClockworkMod on my Samsung Galaxy S Plus to install CyanogenMod 10.1. I use this tutorial for that:
Pre-requisites:
Make sure that you have charged your mobile at least up to 70% so that installation process will occur without any interruption.
It is recommended that you should take a backup of all your important personal data such as SMS, MMS, APN, contacts etc. to the external microSD card.
You must install your mobile’s drivers on PC. If you have installed Kies on your computer then you don’t need to install it separately.
Procedure to install Clockworkmod recovery on Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001:
First download Odin v4.43 software and install it on your PC. It is necessary for flashing recovery on mobile.
Download Clockworkmod recovery for Samsung Galaxy S Plus.
Also download AriesVE OPS file.
Now you have to boot your mobile into downloading mode. For that, first switch off your mobile then press & hold volume down + power button + home button simultaneously until it shows downloading message on your screen.
Now connect mobile to PC via USB cable.
Launch Odin software which you have installed previously on your PC. You will see Added!! message in Odin’s message box. If you won’t get this message make sure that you have installed mobile drivers properly.
Now click on the OPS button and then select AriesVE OPS file.
Click One Package button on Odin and select cwm6032-ariesve-touch-odin.tar file which you have downloaded earlier.
Ensure that Auto-Reboot and F.Resest Time is checked. Make sure that you haven’t clicked anywhere else.
Hit start button to flash recovery on mobile. After successful installation of recovery your mobile rebooted automatically. At the same time you will get pass message in Odin’s message box.
However if you mobile get stuck or you get a fail message then exit the Odin, disconnect mobile from computer, remove battery and re-insert it and follow the above procedure again.
Well done! Clockworkmod Recovery is now installed on your Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001. Do let us know how it is working. If you any query regarding this article, you can ask us freely. We will try our level best to solve it.
Note: For entering into Clockworkmod recovery press & hold volume up + power button + home button simultaneously.

Good question, but honestly have no idea as first time, I heard of this problem, where Odin connects without having phone attached.
But I would like to know
1) Is your IMEI still available when you flash without SIM card?
2) Did you get this phone recently? was this SIM blocked by Network or original owner?
read this for clarification

I try flashing on other pc and odin i worked perfectly (just one box) but i have again sim card problem.
I try the custom room, again.. reboot when insert sim card.
Do you think that problem be solved with unroot? My phone is root..

[Q][HELP] i9001 can't enter recovery after flashing TWRP

Hi all,
I wanted to change the rom on my i9001 to EHNDROIX and I read in the forum (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590896&page=3) that I should change the recovery to twrp, so I downloaded the zip file and put it onto the sdcard just as I used to in case of any rom update. I installed the recovery in recvery mode. After the installation the phone boot without any problem but I can't reach recovery. I'm able to boot to download mode so I tried to revert back to cwm recovery with Odin, but odin stuck on verifying platform.
Now I don't know what to do.
I updated the USB drivers, redownloaded ariesve.ops, odin, but it didn't helped.
Please help me getting back to recovery!
Thanks,

Thanks for your reply.
Of course I found this thread yesterday but I didn't understand why should I install an app from market to boot into recovery because my current rom, the unofficial slim support booting into recovery from the turn off menu.
So this morning I double checked everything what I read:
- check and kill kies (as kies is not installed, that was not an issue for me)
- check the usb cable (I used the Samsung cable, so that couldn't be a problem)
I made this morning the following :
- I turned off virus protection and firewall during the odin download process
- pluged the Samsung USB cable to one of the USB3 back port of my computer
- I run odin as administrator
- downloaded CWM touch recovery odin version 6.0.3.7 mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001#Buttons
- I boot into download mode with the 3 button way
- Started the odin process with AriesVE.ops, one-package-ticked, recovery.tar.md5 loaded to one-package
Odin's messages were the following:
<1> recovery.img download..
<1> 1/1 Finished.
<1> reset pda..
<0> Started Timer
<1> Close serial port and wait until rebooting.
<1> PASS!!!
<0> Destroy instant..
<0> Killed timer
The process lasts for maximum 3-4 seconds, and my phone rebooted into the slim os. I tried to boot into recovery but after the SAMSUNG logo, I just see a black screen again.
I always try to search the forum for a solution as this time I did. I think I made everything carefully, as I used to change roms on my htc one x and on my i9000 quite often so I know that it is easy to make mistakes. I don't know what went wrong.
Please advise!
Is it possible that the bootloader is partially damaged? Know I don't dare to redownload bootloader via Odin not to completely kill my i9001 :/
What was strange all the time is that recovery downloads seemed to happen too fast.

As I don't have amss.mbn problems I tried the second option where the link contained the ariesve.ops file together with cwm 6.0.1.0. Odin said that everything is ok, but I still couldn't boot into recovery.
Should I give a try to feamodrecovery, or try flashing the boot with the suggested boot.tar?
I searched the net for amss.mbn error, and I found a thread where you suggested to somebody to use an even older cwm for flashing. Do you think that I should also try it?
I don't want to bother you too much but I'm really clueless

Is it possible to use adb to write recovery.img just as I have to do in case of the boot.img of my HTC One X every time I want to change rom?

It does not matter about amss.mbn as I am the one who wrote it for users to identify some issues. ( best avoid feamod recovery) , so go ahead and flash that recovery after that you can flash the boot.tar or a kernel meant for the ROM you have on your device.

I flashed the cwm 6.0.1.0 with the enclosed ops as previously, just to be sure. After it, I turned off the phone, took out the battery, sd-card, sim card, and pushed the power button for at least 30 seconds, then put back only the battery. Then started odin as administrator, opened ops again, ticked one package, and choose the bootloader.tar. Booted into download mode by the three button method, connected to the computer with Samsung cable.
Pressed start, and odin stoped again on verifyplatform:

I'm in a vicious circle
I read here:
http://androidsansar.wordpress.com/...overy-for-the-galaxy-s-plus-i9001-using-odin/
and here also:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204700&page=22
to put the recovery tar.md5 to pda in Odin.
Could this be the reason why I can't flash recovery correctly?

well obviously, you are missing the point here, Odin has specific locations, for single files like recovery, modem phone, it should be selected as "PDA" for Bootloader it is seelcted under "BOOT" and when a full ROM is integrated as a single file, it is selected as a "SINGLE PACKAGE"

Pfff, now it is completly bricked...
Maybe I'm stupid and did something wrong, but I rooted this phone, and it was not the first one, and I used it and changed roms for more than one year, and now only black screen awaits when pushing the power button.
I made a screenshot about odin, would you please check what did I wrong?
First I flashed the suggested recovery put into PDA. After it, because I still couldn't boot into recovery, I flashed bootloader put into boot section, just as on the attached screenshot.
Is there any chance to wake my phone up? JTAG?

Is download mode possible? the image and flash seems good, only thing I can think of, is your power( battery ran out) which would cause such an issue like totally dead. Look in [Tutorial][A.I.O. Rescue & Recovery] My Android Solutions. [Help & Troubleshooting] about getting download mode , likely with USB JIG, failing which it should be recoverable by JTAG, (unless you have a internal SD card problem that has been the issue all along)

No, nothing is possible at this moment. I don't think that the battery is the reason as it was fully charged before the flashing process, and my device was turned on for maximum 15 minutes. Just to be sure I connected it to the cord, but even the loading process doesn't start.
